  1. I got the hammer bushing from Clark for my Ruger Mk3 22/45 to address the mags dropping free issue. Now I want to order one of the Volquartsen drop in accurizer kits. Should I order the Volquartsen Mk3 kit or the MK2 kit? In another thread someone mentioned I should get the Volquartsen MK2 hammer, but now that I have the Clark bushing will the Volquartsen Mk3 trigger work for me? I also read that the magazine release from the Volquartsen Mk2 kit doesnt work in a Mk3 and I really want that to work because my son has trouble operating the stock one. Can anyone tell me which kit I should order? Mk2 or Mk3? Thanks!
  2. I have shot six shot 1-3/4" groups out of my Bianchi Cup gun prone at 50 yards before with Zero 115 JHP's in 38 super.
  3. I have never been able to get a 9mm FMJ to shoot as well as a JHP in either a 9mm or a 38 super. For some reason the hollow points shoot much more accurate.
  4. OK I got the bushing from Clark. Now I want to get a Volquartsen trigger kit because the stock trigger is sooo bad. Should I order the MK2 or the MK3 trigger kit? I would like the use bolt release because my kid has a little trouble releasing the stock one. But from an earlier post I got the impresion that the MK 2 kit release wouldnt work on the MK3. Does anyone have any advise for me on this?
  5. Do a lot of dry firing. The sights should not move off target when the trigger is pulled.
  6. I just got this reply from Scarborough. Webmaster has the results, waiting for him to post them. Will be on the SF&G website. I will send out a mass email when posted. Thanks, Rich Austin.
  7. Thanks for the confirmation Craig. My sources were correct which means congratulations are in order for you as well! It was good to see you again, we have met before only briefly and years ago at one of the indoor uspsa matches, oops.... I hope it was ok to say that here. I am a fellow wheelgunner but decided to break out the 1911 for awhile so I dont forget how to use it. It was good to meet you also Darrin, and congrats on winning your class! Ken it was also good to meet you, I'm pretty sure you must have won your class. You were shooting good. Thanks also to the S.O.'s who all had great attitudes and to Clint Staples, Bob Henckel and the Scarborough club for putting on a match worthy of being called a State Championship. That range sure turned out nice.
  8. That is good advise from Duane. If I were a shooter at your club, and you posted results with that guy ahead of me using illegal equipment, I would never come back. If you are a sanctioned IDPA club you are obligated to follow the rulebook. If you are a certified IDPA S.O. you are obligated to enforce the rulebook.
  9. Yeah Bones, where are you getting the results from? I am dying to know how I did. I heard rumors but I need confirmation. Paul Mitchell CDP
  10. I was wondering how many forum members were there. If so, what squad did you shoot in and how did you like the match? I shot in squad 1.
  11. So are you saying that it is legal for Production class?
  12. GOOD GOD!!! I hope this is a mis-quote. Absolute BS. Glock is and very likely will continue to be, the best producer of...Glock barrels. Shocking ain't it. Dude must have A TON of Glock barrel blanks collecting dust. Idiotic and irresponsible thing to say. Jim No mis-quote, thats a cut & paste!
  13. Lead bulllets didnt make the brass bulge. If the brass has a "Glock" bulge near the extractor rim end, it is hard to resize it because the shell plate on my press only allows me to go so far before it hits. But if you started with brass that didnt have that bulge, and then you shot it from a tighter chamber (KKM) with better support on the case, then I guess it would never get the bulge and reloads should chamber OK. I have used the undersized dies and my loaded cases look like hourglass shaped because the middle is smaller than the end with a crimped bullet in it, and the end with the rim isnt resized all the way down so that wider also. I am not a reloading novice, I have loaded over 150,000 on my Dillon 550 which I have owned since 1988 or so. I dont think its anything obvious that I am doing wrong. If you are loading brass previously fired in stock Glock barrels and firing them in KKM barrels you must have undersized dies, or somehow you are getting the case farther into the resize die than I have been able to. At least in 40, maybe 9mm isnt as much of a problem, I hope not. I think I will order a KKM and try it with new brass.
  14. It does seem to be the Glock bulge that is causing the problems, it is hard to resize the case all the way down to the rim because of the shell plate. It does make sense that as long as you keep shooting it out of the KKM barrel you probably wont get the Glock bulge. Overall length is not the problem and remember I am talking about ammo that will chamber fine in the stock barrel but not in the aftermarket barrel. That is why I wanted the chamber to be the same and I know it will work fine.
  15. I thought that the tone of his answer was kind of aggitated by my question. I got a more civil response with the same question from Storm Lake. "All of our chambering for Glock barrels is per SAAMI specification. If your reloads are within SAAMI specification for 9mm luger, they should feed reliably in a Storm Lake Barrel. If you have feeding issues, we will be happy to adjust the chamber to fit your reloads provided the depth does not exceed SAAMI specification. Regards, David Storm Lake Barrels support"
  16. Here is a reply from KKM to a message I sent to their support asking if they could open up the chamber dimensions on a barrel. "If you start with NEW brass there will not be problems with chambering. You should see between 20-25 reloads with this brass. Any brass that has been shot in a Factory Glock barrel should not be reloaded. This is how people blow up their guns by using brass that has been shot in Factory barrels. Kevin" Sounds reasonable, maybe I will get some new brass and try it with a stock KKM barrel.
  17. Excellent, very useful information. Now I can make the new MK3 22/45 into something that my son can learn to shoot USPSA with.
  18. Great, Thank you! Thats what I suspected the problem was. So just a hammer and hammer bushing? I noticed a strange lever on the back of the trigger that I wondered about dremeling off, or I was going to replace the trigger with an adjustable Volquartsen type with set screws anyhow to take some of the awful creep and overtravel out of it. Other than that are the MK3 mags fine? Can you use MK2 mags?
  19. Does the MK2 have a magazine safety that will not allow the pistol to fire without a Mag?
  20. I picked up a Ruger 22/45 MK3 for my son to learn how to shoot a Pistol on. I am a little dissapointed that the mags do not drop free. Is that because it is a MK3 and has a magazine safety, or are the MK2's the same way? I've not handled a MK2.
  21. I want to get a rifled barrel to shoot cast bullets out of my Glock 34. ( Yeah I know some of you use your stock barrel) I never have a problem shooting my reloads with jacketed bullets out of the stock barrel, they go into the chamber fine, but I have had problems in the past with a G34 KKM barrel even though I used a tighter sizing die. I was wondering if anyone could tell me which barrel is going to have a chamber closer to the stock barrel dimensions, KKM, Bar-Sto, Storm Lake, ??? I really want to shoot cast because it is alot cheaper. I just wish I could find a barrel with a chamber that eats my reloads as well as the stock one. Has anyone out there ever had the chamber reamed out on a KKM, etc?
  22. Any of you guys that hate your belt fed system willing to sell me one cheap? I'm just getting into production, it looks like something I'd like to try but I dont want to pay that much for something I may not like. If you have one you dont use, please PM me and turn it into cash! Oh yeah, I have a Glock 34.
  23. What ever happened to the mag pouch that held 4 mags in the space of two? It had two sets side by side. I cant remember the name of them. Maybe they are illegal now.
