  1. I was wondering about the new rifling. Is it traditional rifling? I wonder how it will handle cast bullet reloads.
  2. I loaded up some .356" Xtreme plated 147's with 3.1 gr Titegroup for starting load, couldnt produce a group at 15 yards, some of the bullets were tumbling. I am going to bump it up, hopefully that will work with these bullets.
  3. What is the overall length on this belt please.

  5. Nope. This classifier, and a couple other 13 series have already been adjusted (at least for limited). See my post above. When I shot it a couple months ago, my math from nats HHF, put me in the lower 90-93%ish range .... when it posted, It was in the low 80s. Unfortunately, I doubt we will ever know why, how, or when the new HHFs were established. cool huh? Well when I shot the classifer Roscoe Rattle in November, Open division my classification percentage came back exactly what it was compared to the HHF from the 2012 Open nats results. I believe this is where they start, but as they get shot obviously the HHF will change, and everybody is shooting the hell out of the new 13 series, so look for constant adjustments on these.
  6. These classifers come from the nationals, some of the 13 series were shot in 2012 and some in 2013. If you find the stage in the nationals results you can see what the high hit factor was right there. The stage winner is the 100% score, at least until enough people better it. It seems to me like the HHF is lower on the 13 series for some reason, maybe the guys were shooting it more carefully because it was at the nats and they didnt want to go all out and risk crashing? I am almost to M in Single stack, I just shot this stage yesterday, 72 points in 8.47 seconds, should be about 93% and change. High hit factor for the Limited nats was about 9.1, usually the lim 10 and single stack HHF is about the same.
  7. Thanks, ill try to get ahold of Jim at Sailors, I like the sound of that. I have some old style mags I can send him to work with.
  8. I have the mag bodies. I was hoping someone here could steer me in the right direction for getting a big stick done up for my caspian. Who does a good job and how do I get in touch with them? Thanks
  9. I always did the same thing gunracer described. I used to shoot Bianchi cup minor loads with cast bullets for practice and then I would just run a mag full of major PF jacketed bullets out and it would blast the lead out of the comp.
  10. If you all went to the revolver nats with your six shooters and one master class shooter showed up with an eight shooter and they said, we are going to allow him to use this. Tell me how many of you guys would be crying foul play? If you say you wouldnt then you are full of crap!
  11. Its not a matter of the sky falling. Because it will not. The game will change and it will go on. Maybe participation will increase, to what degree is yet to be seen. Hopefully alot. It just seems rediculous to me that some of you maintain that the eight shot revolver will not be an advantage. If it changes to eight shot legal, tell me what gun is used by the top shooters at the nationals. I understand there are many guys enthusiastic about using their 8 shooters in USPSA revovler division, thats great, maybe its the birth of a new revolver craze. But for you to say there is not going to be any equipment advantage does not pas the straight face test to me.
  12. That is exactly what makes this sport great. God bless you Bob.
  13. Why dont you just say if it has a cylinder anything goes? It seems like you want a place to be able to play with your open class revolvers. So since there arent enough current revolver division shooters in the USPSA, just throw out that divsion and start a new one, Open revolver. Maybe you will have better participation, maybe there are more ICORE guys out there than there are USPSA revolver shooters. I think many of your USPSA revolver shooters play in both sports and perhaps many would rather use their ICORE guns for USPSA, that is what it sounds like to me. Maybe the gain in new ICORE guys coming over to play will offset the number of die hard USPSA 6 shot guys you will lose. I think it is transforming revolver division from a fairly stock gun division like production to a more specialized equipment divison like open. But if the current revolver division is DOA, then I guess something needs to be done. RIP revolver division, it was fun. I am going to have to keep my eyes out for a good deal on an 8 shooter now, I'm glad I didnt just buy another 625.
  14. I'm not saying changing the division is necessarily bad. It may increase participation. Maybe there are more eight shot guys out there than the old six shooter guys. But I you are kidding yourself if you think this isnt going to force anyone that cares about being competitive at the top level to have an eight shot revolver. It also may have the opposite effect. Our local club has a handful of guys shooting revolvers. If someone starts bringing an 8 shot and beating them every month, they may decide not to shoot revolver anymore if they cant afford to run out and buy an 8 shooter. I also disagree with COF that a stand alone nats will not increase local participation. The reason many people have had little interest in the division is because of the low participation on all levels. If I have a chance to go to the nats like last years with great sponsorship and participation, thats motivation to shoot revolver all season including the local matches to get ready for the nats.
  15. You're ignoring the other part of the equation. 8 shooters are scored minor, 6 shooters can be major so while there's the reloads (or fewer reloads) there's also a scoring offset to go with it. I think alot of this is going to be negated by our classification system until you get to GM.I have shot a few USPSA matches with an 8 shot revolver. It was more fun which may be the most important consideration. I'm in favor of 8 minor 6 major but think we could do more: 8 shooters scored minor with a >120PF 6 & 7 shooters, moonclip fed, scored major with a >160 PF, scored minor with a >120 to 160 PF 6 & 7 shooters, speedloader fed, scored major with a >120 PF No, I'm not ignoring any part of the equation. Major power factor is not enough to offset the extra two rounds. An "A" hit is worth 5 points no matter what power factor. Your GM comment holds no water. Many of the classifiers are eight shot strings, revolvers have often had to do extra reloads but it didnt matter because all of the revolvers had too, so inter-division scoring was not effected.
  16. Its really to bad it has to happen now that they finally had a revolver only nationals with great attendance. I was actually thinking of getting back into revolver. It would have been good to see if better attended nationals would increase the particpation in revolver divsion as it is.
  17. With eight shot arrays it is obvious that the six shot revolvers will not be as competitive anymore. In single stack major vs minor at least the guy shooting major can still get the job done without an extra reload if he is accurate. With revolver the six shot guy will have the extra reload no matter how accurate he is. So this will definately change the division to basically require an eight shot revolver to have any chance at winning if you are going to have competitors of equal skill level there. If you just shoot your revolver because it is fun, it will not effect you. But you can do that in any division. You can shoot a revolver for fun in open division. This kills the six shooter competitively. The problem is not enough people want to shoot six shooters anymore. I dont know why, I love it. The only reason I stopped shooting revolver is because there was noone to play against. It sounds like there are more guys that want to play with their eight shot revolvers than there were guys that used the six shooters, so in the end I guess its better. The old division is dead, and a new one is created. You can still play with your old equipment but it will be just for fun now. I would still shoot local matches with a six shooter and I would love to beat some guys with their 8 shooters just to prove I can, but I would not take a six shooter to a major match against the top revolver shooters and expect to have a chance of winning the division because the stages will not be six shot friendly, they will be eight shot friendly.
  18. I'd sure like to put some money on breaking this fact for you!
  19. When you are hanging hits on a target as fast as you can, you are determining what the acceptable sight picture is. If your target is the A zone then you will be shooting A's as fast as you can, if you are just aiming center mass or center of available area then you are breaking many non A hits as fast as you can. The question is how much longer does it take to bring the sights into the A zone and hang those A hits. That amount of time is measured in hundreths of seconds not tenths. Its a matter of mental discipline and concentration. If you've ever shot bullseye it becomes subconscious. A relationship between your brain and your trigger finger where it will break the shot when the sights are where you have programmed your mind is acceptable.
  20. I had a Honda 750 shaft, would come out of the hole sideways in first but would wheelie in second gear every time.
  21. I like the fact that you are more concerned with accuracy than speed. I feel this is important in the early stages of your career. Speed will come, but many people never develop accuracy. Besides what some of the others mentioned, I noticed it looks like you are shifting your grip between shots or at least during transitions to another target. Make sure you have a good grip that will bring the gun right back onto target after each shot and this will speed up your splits alot. Keep up the good work, you are way ahead of most new shooters I see and your willingness to open yourself up to critisism here shows your desire to grow as a shooter.
  22. We shot this classifer today at our club and the RO felt that it was almost impossible to shoot the stage without sweeping yourself on the seated draw so they wanted everyone to do it standing. I would like to hear some opinions on that please.
