  1. Bubber, Pat, You guys can make the TN section now (Cheaper trip too) Bill will let you in, just drop him a line. He's Stage3 on these forums. HOP
  2. If ya'll can't do any better than that, I think I'll go to bed. Oh, and the TENNESSEE VOLS are just fine. They are helping UCLA to get their program back in the lights ! BTW, small thread drift. See how many SEC teams are in the top 10 ???? Hop
  3. 3rd GM is coming !!!!! He talked to me Tuesday, said He's going to go the round (I mean real) way. Hop
  4. I get to say it !!!! This Thread is USELESS without PICTURES !!!!! Hop
  5. M Ammo said that this will be a mid range match with rifle because of the standards. I agree, unless things have really changed at the shootout range there are not many (main range use for HI-power) that go past 200 yds. Thus making me decide on Rifles to use: 1 my M4 with Eotech (light and really handy) 2 my Saber Competition with 1x4 (because of the scope a little more accurate) Decisions, Decisions.............whats a bald guy to do ???? HOP
  6. Was at a 3-gun match today, I had a guy that was shooting TUPPERWARE but not a Gl*ck ask what a POG was. SO I told him, and he asked what his was? I then told him his was a PAG = Plastic A$$ GUN SO................ All POGS,(closest I could get to PINK ) and PAGS, might as well be ready to accept the truth that the Best CREATION of a handgun BY J.M. Browning is going to Kick your ARSE !!!! (And take all the loot home to West TN ) Hop
  7. M19, If you're having trouble with empty brass coming out, until you change to cleaner powder and keep your cylinder clean you will still have trouble. You need to find a really clean burning powder. (I can't help as I don't do 38/357 sorry) and if you shoot lead you'll need to find some with a lube that doesn't foul/smoke (dry lubed bullets are best for that) or go with Jacketed or the Black/molly type (precision/ barney ect.) another thing. When doing your reload. make sure the muzzle is pretty much up before you hit the ejector rod or you'll have trouble with the cases getting behind the star. Let gravity help and be your friend. also, get some FLITZ metal polish and POLISH the chambers (dremmell and a really soft wheel) so they are shiney on the inside (shiney does not foul as quick, it's a metalurgy thing). good luck with it. HOPALONG Edit to add: Or you can do as I do. Shoot lead and deal with the dirty/smoke, ect. for practice but when you go shoot a match that matters change over to your clean loads. (you'll just have to clean it more often that way)
  8. I was one of the lucky ones last year and did not ever have to shoot in the rain, just the mud and the Muck. I'm feeling better and better about not being there this year too. Have fun ! HOP
  9. What, No more comments from the PEANUT gallery ? Where did all the POG shooters/owners go ? Now they think that 4 weeks of practice will help them even come close the Most perfect handgun ever created ? They should of started YEARS ago !!! Steel, I guess since the POGS can't hang with the JMB creation, the POG owners can't hang in there with us !!!! Hop Oh, and all the loot is STILL going to WEST TN !!!!
  10. Kay sent me an E-mail. She said they are going to skip, getting ready for 3-gun Nationals the following weekend. Hop
  11. OK, here's the dope. handgun rules: 9.2.4 Fixed time: Limited time, Limited number of shots. 9.2.4.2 Fixed time must use Paper targets exclusively. & should be dissapearing where possible. RIFLE RULES: 9.2.4 Same as Handgun rules 9.2.4.2 IF paper targets are used in Fixed time stages, they where possible should be dissapearing. So there you go. Follow the directions in the stage briefing and you'll have no problems. HOP
  12. Hi Jane, Yes, you ARE ready. Between now and then, do the technical stuff. Confirm Zero. clean Mags, and gun and shoot a little. Chamber check ammo. I know some use the ammo checker, I use the barrel out of the gun. If it goes "thunk" and then just falls right out when you turn it over (the barrel) you'll have no problems out of the ammo. New Battery in the scope (prior to confirm Zero) ect. You know the drill. It is just 3 - 6 stage matches in 3 consecutive days so don't sweat it. ENJOY the trip ! (stop and look at the view too) Hop
  13. My kind of match................ too bad ya'll are on the left coast. Hop
  14. Talked to another Revolver GM today. He was coming to the TN sectional anyway, but in another division. I told him about the revo division and who and how many. He then said. "thanks for telling me, I might just have to change divisions". I also sent the KING an E-mail inviting him and the Queen to the match. Don't know, might have a BIG crowd. Hop
  15. Tim beat me to it so I'll just concurr. Man, I wish this match was next week. 4 weeks away is too long. Hop
  16. All week ????? Nahhhh all year............... yep !!! funny, with just one more GM, we'd have just as many as the USPSA Nationals. Hop
  17. NO worries about Odie. He'll shoot a revolver or he won't go back to TX a whole man. Hop
  18. Man Airedale, You weren't supposed to tell the "rest of the story". Corey, That was an Imposter. I actually was letting someone else shoot my gun on those stages except the one !!!! Surely my results got mixed up with someone elses. It doesn't matter though, I will find a way to really screw up. (I'm pretty good at that) BUT, even with screwing up, the POG guys and gals are going home with tears of DEFEAT !!!!!! (how's that for getting back on the subject) Hop
  19. Steel, What do expect ? Dave is an AWESOME shooter. Besides, I really don't want to Piss off the SGTMajor. Maybe one of these days I'll learn how to shoot. UNTIL then I'll just have to stir up the STUFF ! Hop For those who can't appreciate what a real handgun is, there are the POGS !!!!! Oh and NashvilleBILL............. VERY GOOD
  20. Am I mistaken ???? Are there only 3 GMs shooting the USPSA Nationals this year ???? Elliot, Jerry, Cliff.........................
  21. In answer to Bill Nesbitts' question. MY guess would be 80+ % of the revolver shooters that consistantly compete with a revolver are self taught. As far as wheelgunners in CA go. MY first guess Is Bucket Bagakis, and then go from there. And Jamie Foote in San Antonio. HOP
  22. It took that much time ????? Bob must be a slow learner !!!! Hop
  23. NOT going to make it this year. Will be in Nashville whipping up on the SStk shooters at the TN Hillbilly classic. Good luck, have fun. Hop
