  1. Redmist10, Sent ya a PM.. he wants you to call him. Flex... ya know I don`t know what he`s gonna shoot there. Don`t remember if he shoots CDP or ESP. Never bothered to ask him.. We usually talk about 3 gunning.. I`m not really into IDPA that much so it doesn`t get brought up. CS#158
  2. Hey guys, Taran Butler is looking for someone who is looking to share a ride at the IDPA Nationals. He`s looking to share a rental car from the airport to the range/hotel for the weekend. He is shooting Friday and Sat. Any interested partys please contact him at (805) 520-3624. Thanks, CS#158
  3. I have a very good article written by Col. Chandler from an old issue of Tactical Shooter on the benfits of shorter barrels on LE long guns. Send me an email or PM if you would like to read it. CS#158
  4. I didn`t get to see a list of everyone overall top to bottom but I`m pretty sure this is how the classes finished. Taran Butler - Tactical Optics Bruce Piatt - Tactical Iron Matt Burkett - Open Eddie Rhodes - He man Eddie Rhodes - High overall Hopefully they will put up a list of how everyone fared. CS#158
  5. Will there be a chance to confirm zeros on our rifles Friday nite? Yamil.. hows that SOCOM shooting? we`ll have to hook up and say Hi in person at the match. CS#158
  6. I`ve been having trouble with my CTR-02 running lately. It looks like its short stroking but its actually cycling faster then the mag can keep up. I was shooting with Taran when it choked and went bolt action on me at Area 5. He let me check out the rifle Paul at MSTN built for him. Man was it nice, it pointed and balanced very nice. He put me in contact with him and I talked to him for about an hour discussing what my rifle is doing ( I ordered an upper from him.. ). It appears that the alum bolt cycles faster than the magazine can feed the rounds up, Its just too light. After a call to JP.. I told them what the rifle is doing, I got the same answer.. put a stainless bolt in it and go with the lightened one when its available. So.. I ordered a stainless one and put it in.. shot a tune up match last weekend and it ran fine.. 100% with no malfunctions at all. Hopefully it works at DPMS. CS#158
  7. Just an update. I`ve had a few people PM and email me about Dougs mounting system for the EOTechs. I spoke with him yesterday about them. He said if anyone is interested in them, contact him directly and he will give you the details about the mounts. www.acc-u-rail.com CS#158
  8. rhino, Don`t take 94 to Ann Arbor, you`ll go way out of your way. Get on 14 just East of Jackson and take that to 23 North. Then get off at 96 West and the next exit is the club exit. Alot less driving that way. CS#158
  9. Flex, Yep..I`m from Michigan.. near Detroit. The new Rev F model are all going to have the new style membrane control pads. They have always had the one button on switches, but the new pad will make it much easier to "feel" the controls. I don`t see em going with any type of interchangeable reticle module.. again the Military and L/E needs don`t require it. With the way the body is designed and sealed.. I don`t know if it would be possible at all though. I`ll mention it and see what they say. Jim, When Doug makes the mounts he takes the hood off of the 511. He uses the 511 since there is already holes in the body for the shroud. If you used the 502, that doesn`t have a shroud, there would be nowhere to mount it. Then you would be forced to use a much higher mounting system due to having to use the weaver type mount on the bottom of the optic. He just removes the protective shroud. He uses the screw holes from the shroud to attach it to the mount. The ones I have seen were single side mounts that are very low. The guys that are shooting them are doing very good.. all are USPSA shooters. One has won at least a couple ( that I know about ) local matches with his rig at a very competitive club. CS#158
  10. Alan, I`ll pass along the suggestions to Rod. I`ll see Doug next week, I`ll see if I can get a pic of his mount. CS#158
  11. I have sold a bunch of the D1 ( 1 MOA dot only ) reticles to guys around here.. I took 3 up to Doug Jones shop last week for new guns hes working on. They are getting very good results with them. Doug is taking the 511 model and removing the shroud and making up a mount that uses the existing screw holes in the body of the optic. EOTech is on really touchy ground trying to promote thier optics to the competition shooting crowd. They have an agreement with Bushnell that does not allow them to market thier optics to the non Military and L/E crowd. I asked them to sponsor the Area 5 3 gun and they couldnt do it. They are donating certificates for the prize table thru me, but can`t directly sponsor any part of the match. I spoke to the Reigonal director this morning and hes gonna come out to the match and hang with my squad for a day, just to get a feel for what we as a sport shooting community would like to see. We`ll see what comes of that. CS#158
  12. usc, They don`t show one for a Benelli in the Brownells catalog. They have the Benelli/Beretta together, but I`m not sure if they are one in the same. Thanks, CS#158
  13. Thanks for the input guys. I`ll order up a skeet one as well and take em all out to test. Thanks again, CS#158
  14. You guys that are running the spreader shotshells in your guns, what chokes have you found work best. I picked up a case to try out and am curious as to what everyone else is using. I have an Improved Cylinder and a Modified Improved choke for my gun, and will try both of them out to see what I get. Any other options available? Thanks, CS#158
  15. I have an Ace Ltd. Entry Skeleton stock with the 1" recoil pad. It works well for me. Handy in tight close and still gives me enough length for prone and off hand shots. CS#158
  16. Brownells sells Remington dummy rounds for 12 ga. They work well to practice reloads. Sell for $20 to $25 a box of 25. CS#158
  17. Just call him at the shop #. If he doesn`t answer, leave a message and he`ll call you back. He`s pretty good about that. CS#158
  18. Bill Parmelee reloads weak hand with a pistol gripped Benelli. CS#158
  19. Erik, I heard back from my buddy. The clamp was off one of our other squad mates guns. Looks like there was more than one not loctited huh? Mickster, They were holding up a shotshell arm carrier that was in the lost and found box during the awards presentations. Might wanna contact Mr. Furbee and see if he has it or it was left at the range. CS#158
  20. Definately had fun.. didn`t shoot as well as I would have liked, but I got all my hits. I shot the competition master instead of my Benelli, since I`m still on the list to have Bevin work on it, ( he told me very soon when I talked to him out there.. ) I would have rather had the Benelli.. it reloads smoother than the Remmy in my opinion. This was the most shotgun reloading intensive match I have ever shot. It definately gave me something to work on. My pistol and rifle ran well ( SVI .40 and JP CTR-02) which pleased me since it was the first match for either of them. All in all.. it was a very good match. When you get an event that big, your bound to run into glitches. The match staff did what they had to do to make it work. I got to hang and shoot with my buddys from LAPD, and made a few new friends to boot. All in all... had a great time. Was it worth driving 30 hours each way? Oh yeah Will I fly next year.. OH YEAH! Erik, I know who "had" your shotgun clamp. The RO from stage 2 handed it to us and asked if it was off one of our guns and walked away. My friend thought it was off of his, when we checked it wasn`t. I`ll contact him to see what he did with it and try to get it back for you.
  21. "I strongly encourage 3G and rifle match directors to supply contrasting target surfaces and paint them between squads, or even half-squads. " Yeah.. I really see that happenin... CS#158
  22. I agree with George. It says right in the manual for the rifles, If you have a problem with any of the trigger components, call JP first. They will diagnose the problem if they can over the phone, if not, you can just send it back to them for repair. CS#158
  23. I use Black Hills (reman) 68 gr match. Runs well thru my rifle and is very accurate. I tried both the reman and new, and the reman is more accurate then the new stuff for some reason. CS#158
