I sold my 9 major open gun, and I have a bunch of HS-6 still. I`m putting together a Glock 34 with an RMR for 3 gun and will just shoot minor in open. Anyone have a decent 130 to 150 load for a 124 gr bullet? Thanks..

I currently shoot a Bedell Shorty in 9 major with a vertical Cmore, but I have really been itching to try a Glock in Open. I shoot a Glock better than a 1911, I have hundreds of thousands of rounds thru one over the years. I`m thinking about just getting a slide, barrel and comp to shoot the same load my 1911 shoots now. I have a Doctor not doing anything so I`m thinking about just having the slide cut for it and try it out on my pistol to see if I like it before I spend the cash for a full done Open pistol. I`ve exchanged a few emails with Bevin and he can`t get any support from the Factory in Germany to harden the Doctors anymore, and the small Cmores aren`t up to the task as a slide ride either. I don`t want to do any type of frame mount right now.. my Glock is my carry gun and I don`t want to do anything permanent to it. What kind of optics ( Fastfire, J Point, ect..) are living on 9 major slides if any, or if I do just use my Doctor, is there anywhere in the US that would be able to repair it if it goes down? Thanks for any input!

Thinking about coming over to the dark side
ChandlerSniper158 replied to ChandlerSniper158's topic in Open Pistols
I hear ya buddy.. I`m diggin shooting open. It`s awesome being able to see and hit what I`m shooting at. I`ve shot about 8 matches with it now and I`m not winning but I`m staying consistently in the top 10 at against some tough open shooters. I am really glad I made the change.. -
Hit me up ya ever get to Houston to shoot.. I`m shooting a match somewhere every weekend. Good luck with it!

I switched from limited to open a couple months ago and love it. I have some vision issues and switching made shooting fun for me again, plus once ya get to the dark side, they have cookies!!

And by the way.. I'm shooting 7.2 WAC with a 124 out of a shorty with a Bedell comp and 2 poppel holes making 170 pretty easily.

9x21 and 9x19 are not the same... Your close to hurting yourself or someone else. A guy blew his gun and himself up at the club the other day with an over pressured load. Put pieces of his M&P into his hand! Take the others advise and shoot them over a chrono. JMHO

I have had 3 factory SVs, all were awesome. Also had factory STIs, and a Canyon Creek STI limited gun. I have never owned a Brazos pistol, but I will second his customer service, Bob is a great guy to deal with. I am currently shooting a Bedell shorty in open and couldn't be happier with it. He builds a really nice gun. Get something from a reputable builder that will stand behind his work and you should be GTG.

I don't know which open gun will be good
ChandlerSniper158 replied to Mister's topic in Open Pistols
I made the switch to open and debated the same as you did. I shot a full size, and a shorty. Ended up with a Bedell 9major shorty. I am more comfortable with the shorty over the full size and I feel for me, it points and transitions quicker. It has a full size comp and 2 poppel holes and I still don't have an issue making major. I researched and talked to people for a while before I made my decision. If you can shoot them, try em out and see what you like first hand. -
OR... just go to a local match and see if there is someone shooting both types and ask if they would let you check em out. Most of the shooters I know would be happy to let you see for yourself. That will probably save ya some time and aggravation down the line.

Matt Cheely makes a mount for the RTS.. It's a frame mount like a slide ride. It gets it down on top of the gun like the sideways mount without the obstruction. I have one I'm going to mount to my gun when the RTS gets here and see if I like it. He's a dealer here, there's a thread about it on his forum page.

Great drill.. Thanks for posting it Keith!

3 Gun on NBC Sports
ChandlerSniper158 replied to P.E. Kelley's topic in Multi-Gun, Rifle & Shotgun Match Announcements
Good call! Is there a better way you can think of to get the woman that watch those "Housewives" shows to time into 3 Gun Nation than to have a Double rifle case from Louis Vuitton? I better hit up Coach for a tactical man purse while I'm going after that demographic. Good call in posting elsewhere!!! I need to get on the stick as Mayor of the forums and do the same. I think I'm a member on over 80 gun forums now! I can see it now... Guys and girls running around with "Coach", LV, DG, and Avon across their backs shooting 3 gun... That would be an awesome sight!!
