Endoscope camera for powder monitor
inspector1999 replied to shriner's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
I do 9mm. But the one I chose has a light so it should work. I paid 15 bucks on Amazon. So it wasn't expensive, I use it with a old Android phone. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk -

Endoscope camera for powder monitor

I have a 7mm. I wrapped it with a foam tape to make it fit snuggly. Works like a charm. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk -
Blake drill as I know it is a Bill drill (6 shots) across a three target array, spaced about a yard apart. Goal is to have splits across the transitions from T1 to T2 to T3 be the same as the splits from shot to shot on the Bill drill. Work fast transitions a cross an array. CZ 75 SP-01 Accushadow, most aggressive grips
inspector1999 replied to PaladinPrecision's topic in CZ
I have the LOK Palm Swells Bogies. They are aggressive enough that they take skin until you have calluses on your hands. They have a different profile than the CZC grips, but they sell a thin set as well. On the front strap of my SP01 Tactical I put skateboard tape, I didn't put any on the Accu, I didn't feel the need with the LOK Grips. My 2¢. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk -
Guided Tour of Refinement and Repetition
inspector1999 replied to Steve Anderson's topic in Andersonshooting.com
Thank you for the professional show with 15 minutes of actual content, mostly about the mind game, with occasional breaks for dog noise. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk -
This is going to be a great match! Well run last year, good food, quality stages. For those who are thinking about it, wait list. It is a big match with lots of moving parts, all done by volunteers. Things usually work out, but it will take patience on your part. Train hard and have fun! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

SDB Catastrophic failure
inspector1999 replied to Swanny10's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Mine did the same thing, bought used so unknown round count. Sent it back to Dillion and it was fixed no questions asked. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk -
If I could have got a case feeder I never would have sold my SDB. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

The SDB auto indexes. The 550 is manual index. With both you need to place an empty case and place a bullet. So auto index would be "faster" right? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Compare 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP in Self-Defense Shooting?

http://americanhandgunner.com/defensive-carry/ Similar across all calibers, shot placement dictates success. Train, work hard, carry. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk -

That is just it, there isn't a one one shot wonder. Training is the wonder. Do work, work hard, get to work. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk -
Compare 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP in Self-Defense Shooting?
inspector1999 replied to BCGlocker's topic in Handgun Techniques
Handgun rounds are not good at stopping bad people from doing bad things. Looking at the available literature, it takes on average 2 to 3 rounds to stop a bad guy. Those rounds need to hit areas that cause incapacitation. So, between those three calibers all do a poor job. You need 2-3 to rounds on target. So my wisdom would be select a firearm that fits you best, that you will carry (if you don't have it, it doesn't matter the caliber), that you can hit relatively small targets with 2-3 rounds fast and accurate and that has the greatest capacity. Then spend all of the rest of your firearms time training with competent instructors and practicing so you can hit those small things three times faster and faster with absolute confidence. Just my 2¢ Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk -
For that kind of money there are lots of options. I use a Ares Gear aegis enhanced belt. It is a bit cheaper and I wear it as my EDC belt. I carry a SIG 229 with 2 spare mags and it holds the weight well. Awesome quality and after 3 years no negatives. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Do I need to use case lube when using carbide dies ?
inspector1999 replied to hkvp9's topic in General Reloading
Yes. Was resistant and then tried One Shot. Significant difference. Use sparingly, makes reloading easier. Might try to make my own lanoline / isopropyl alcohol in the future but a couple of sprays of One Shot makes a world of difference. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk -
I do understand the hesitation, but they have the same 30 day return policy as regular purchases from Amazon (not a 3rd party seller which shipped from Amazon). So liability is limited, a bit. YMMV. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

They are pricey, but I would agree the gel cups are necessary. I bought mine on Amazon and watched for an Amazon Warehouse Deal. They were returns where the packaging was "damaged" (opened then returned). There are a few available now, I saved $50 over new. The one marked "used" that show signs of wear, are available but I didn't want to risk it. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

I am listening to them and they are good. Each has a nugget or two of wisdom. I will be listening a second time with a notebook. Mike Pannone's is very good and Lamb's too. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Need help finding a good bullet for short chamber CZ
inspector1999 replied to DaveInHawaii's topic in 9mm/38 Caliber
I have an Accu-shadow with a match barrel and would be happy with those results. So a Rami with that accuracy would be a unicorn for sure. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk -

Two CZ SP-01s, both are good with BBI 125 CN (http://shop.blackbulletsinternational.com/images/9%20125%20BBI.jpg) I load to 1.10 over 3.7 grains of Tite Group. They are accurate, cheap and high quality. 12,000 last year and none deformed and every bullet weighed at least 125 grains. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk -
Will agree that CGW is the best. I will spend my money in the future with CGW and will always recommend them without reservation.

What's most important to you when choosing your gun?
inspector1999 replied to B_RAD's topic in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
So for me the answer is always Ergos first. Find what fits and works for you. All the guns that any of us will pick, face it we all here are picking quality modern firearms, will be accurate and will have reliability. The guys who are the best are the ones who put the work in on their platform. The gun that when you shoot, you giggle will be the one that you put the time in with. I might have looked like an idiot shooting a Sig 229 in .357 Sig for production. But I shot that like a baller and shot at my skill level. I was an A zone hitting idiot. But I had hundreds of thousands of rounds on the platform and the ammo was free. That gun fits me and I love it. To be more competitive, I had to face it there were better options, I found the gun that made me giggle and fit me. Now I practice with that, so I can be that idiot shooting that gun, like a baller at my skill level. You like the Glock? Shoot it till it breaks and buy 2 more. That's how you will progress as a shooter. You like the CZ do the same. Spend all of your time making ammo and shooting it to get better. Oh, and have a ton of fun doing it. Best place to buy from now?
inspector1999 replied to mikeinctown's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Extreme Reloading is where I bought my 650 and other Dillon accessories. Free shipping for Dillon products with the code UT716. They were good to deal with, prices were fair and items shipped in a reasonable time frame. If Brian says KrakenPop I would use them. Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using Tapatalk
