  1. I have this phone number but i dont know if it still works.... you can try it. (775) 856-2011 I have called that number 3 times, a month ago, and left 3 messages and have not received a return call. I sure would like to get in contact with him. Old Blind Squirrel
  2. I had a Gracey set up for 223 and then started getting 308 and 06 and the Gracey was too troublesome to change over. I sold it and got the Giraud. I have it set up to do 223 with it's own cutting head and then 7.62/308 brass for full length sizing and neck sizing and also for 30-06. Simple matter of changing the shell holder and cutting head for the 308 sizes and then the shell holder and cutting head for the223. Quick, easy and so much easier to change. The Giraud wasn't available when I bought the Gracey. Old Blind Squirrel
  3. ISMI 40 round spring, Magpul Gen 2 follower, Bushmaster 40 round AR mag. = 41 rounds of perfect feeding. Old Blind Squirrel
  4. +1 for the Rudy Racing Red. They make the dot stand out more and the brown targets really pop out at ya when they are against like colored backgrounds. I really like them. Old Blind Squirrel
  5. Go to http://www.1bad69.com/ruger/index.htm You will find a lot of info on the Ruger pistol. Check the Stove Pipe section for modifying your mags. Worked for me. This sight has a lot of info I hope you can use. Old Blind Squirrel
  6. I use a Redimag on the gun, pretty fast for me, and a 3 Gun Gear double mag pouch with the drop thingy (technical term) attached to my leg with the strap, with the bullets down and bullets facing to the rear. I don't try to do the pistol mag thing with my index finger. I have small hands and have to grab the rifle mag just above the floorplate and rotate 180 with the bullets ending up pointing forward. Works OK for me, but I'm just a rookie, not one of the more advanced shooters. Old Blind Squirrel
  7. WWsmall rifle in 38 supercomp and 40 S&W. Reduce inventory. Works great in the Dillons. Old Blind Squirrel
  8. I have used his spring/follower combo in my 170 tubes and the followers also do not come all the way to the top like my old ones. HOWEVER, they have performed flawlessly (if that is a word) since I installed them. I have not modified them in any way, but I keep the mags clean. I definitely recommend them. They will be in my other mags when it's time to change out the guts. Old Blind Squirrel
  9. I have used the U die in 38 Supercomp on a 650 and a U die in 40 S&W on a 550 for 4 or more years and zero problems with either one. All brass passes the chamber check whereas in the past some would have a bulge at the area just above the extractor groove that would hang up in the barrel. I really like them. Old Blind Squirrel
  10. Gun is a Dawson Precision Edge, 4.6 Titegroup, Precision 185, WSR primer, COL 1.200 and mixed brass. 169.6 PF
  11. I'm using a Clark Custom carbon fiber float tube on mine. It's not there for the weight savings (carbon fiber/aluminum) but for the reduction in heat. The aluminum one I had on there would "cook" your hand after a run or if you left it in the sun without something covering the handguard, and it took a long time to cool. The carbon fiber eliminated all of those problems. I have had it for several years and have been extremely pleased with it. I'm sorry I don't know about cutting. Maybe you could call Clark and see if they can make one sized the way you want.
  12. I use a 4 on my 22 lr open steel gun and also on my IPSC open gun. I also use the Racing Red lenses in my Rudy Project shooting glasses because it really does "highlite" the dot and targets for both steel and IPSC paper.
  13. I like the Cominolli Frame Saver. It has a thin buffer on each side of the head. I just think this is a good idea to reduce the possibility of any frame battering. I know, some claim that there is no use for a buffer or anything else, that if it was supposed to have a full length guide rod and buffer, Mr. Browning would have put it in there. My gun and my money and I just like to keep my guns in good shape and 100% functional. My $.02 worth.
  14. Limcat for me. I have had one for several years and it works extremely well. Once locked, you will pull your pants up to your armpits during a draw, IF you forget to unlock it. Ask me how I know. (senior moment) Old Blind Squirrel
  15. I don't use a side saddle on my Benelli, but I do have a 3 Gun Gear dual shell carrier mounted on the forearm and have never had my M1 not finction with 1 oz. loads (Wally World cheapos). It will not feed the 7/8ths oz. loads though. Hopefully others will chime in that have mucho more expereience shooting 3 gun matches than I do. Old Blind Squirrel
  16. Put an AFTEC in it and don't look back. End of "problem" Old Blind Squirrel
  17. chp5's idea works good. Look at some of the thrift shops for the cart. While I was trying to find one, I never could so I forked over the money for the Rugged Gear one. Since then I can't hardly go anywhere without stumbling over used carts like chp5 is talking about. These type of carts are vary versaltile for what you can do to them to carry all the gear that you want to carry. Good luck with your endeavor. Old Blind Squirrel
  18. You caught me John. I am a Senior so I should get some respect. It was a fun stage though. The whole match was very good with very good stages. Take care and shoot fast A's. Old Blind Squirrel (Terry)
  19. Go to www.speedshooter.com and look at the DMW Benelli Speedbar for $14.95 product # BEN003. I have one on my Benelli and it works great. No tapping and drilling, just a small amount of the handguard needs to be removed. Old Blind Squirrel
  20. I shot my DSA SA58 FAL in a local 3 gun match last weekend and had a blast. I usually shoot open with a race AR, but shot Limited with the FAL. Not very competitive (in my hands), but it does take down steel and Texas stars with authority, and the fun factor is well worth using the FAL. I think I will use one of my Garands in the next 3 gun, again for the fun factor. Old Blind Squirrel
  21. I use a 4 MOA dot on my open gun and also on my 22 steel gun. I like the size. I had an 8 but felt it was too big. I have been known to "look" for the dot, but that is not the dot size causing that. It is the loose nut behind the gun or as my signature says. Old Blind Squirrel
  22. Yep, what n2ipsc said. Mine holds 38 with the magpul follower. I would have liked to have 40, but 38 is better than 30 and not near as costly as a c mag. I know that the 38 will function perfectly through my gun. I guess I could cut down the legs on the mag pull and get the extra 2 in, but why mess with something that is totally reliable right now and risk losing some reliability. I would rather make a mag change. Old Blind Squirrel
  23. I have 3 JP triggers (kits, not the drop in) on 3 different AR's. 1 full race open, 1 carbine and one NM (just for fun shooting). I installed all 3 myself by carefully following the instructions and I performed the SAFETY CHECKS numerous times. I did use a very fine ceramic stone to POLISH the mating surfaces of the hammer and trigger and now have a measured 2 pound pull on all 3 rifles. The pull has stayed at 2 pounds since I installed them. I do use the trigger grease that JP sells, on the mating surfaces of the hammer and trigger. I have not had one trigger malfunction with any of these guns. You need to FULLY understand the operation of the trigger, hammer and disconnector relationship when working on triggers. If you follow his very well written and illustrated instructions, AND take your time, you should be able to end up with an outstanding trigger group. Good luck on your selection, Old Blind Squirrel
  24. I load MG 155 JHP's to 1.200 behind 4.5 Titegroup for a PF of 126+ for steel loads. My STI likes this length and it feeds like butter through MY gun at this length. YMMV Old Blind Squirrel
  25. Exact same setup as I use. 100% reliable. Magpuls and ISMI rule. Old Blind Squirrel
