  1. Hi Chet, Jim Bodkin at JD sales has a coated 135 gn... My wife shoots them and they have run very well. His website is shooterready.biz shoot him an email and he will get you taken care of. If you need his phone number, shoot me a message. Thanks, Calvin
  2. This is great news! It sounds like I need to get my priorities right in my life and start bird dogging these sites... Thanks. I have been checking PV, Recobs and Grafs. Should I be looking at any others? I need to look into WSF for 9mm minor loads, PV has that in stock. Hopefully WST and Clays will follow suit. Thanks Thats awesome! Well I guess it would make logical sense to send all the powder to Cali... Hopefully it well make its way east shortly! Calvin
  3. That maybe the thing to do! Thanks for the heads up guys!

  9. Welcome to the forums! Good folks here!
  10. I shot 13-06 yesterday. It was interesting to get home and crunch through some the numbers. In hind sight, it is apparent that you could not shoot enough good points to make up for the loss in time. It would have served me well to have gone faster and given up a few points. You live and you learn! I am still a rookie at this. Limited 45 points 0 Penalties 8.06 seconds 5.58 HF =55%
  11. Interesting. What beats per minute do you use? I have a piece of paper taped to the back of my metronome that shows the bpm equivalents for splits between 1.00 and .05 seconds, in .05 second increments. My metronome is capped at 240 bpm, so once I get below .25 splits, I have to start pulling the trigger in double- or triple-time. In theory, at least. I haven't gotten that fast in dry fire (although for some reason I can get down to .20-.15 in live fire). I'll usually start at .75 splits (80 bpm). Slow enough so that there's plenty of time to very deliberately call my last shot on a target, snap my eyes to the next target, align the sights on the next target, and call my first shot on the next target, all within one beat. After I've warmed up on that for a while, I'll start decreasing the splits by .05 or .10 every ten reps or so. As the splits get faster and faster, all those above steps get smeared together, sort of like how a draw stroke will eventually turn from 4 (or whatever) distinct steps into one single action. I'll keep decreasing the splits until I can no longer make the transition within one beat. Some people will say metronome drills are bad because it forces you to shoot in a cadence, but at least for me, it's less about making my transitions match my splits, and more about forcing myself to make the transition in a set amount of time. The metronome is basically just acting as a par timer with a really short beep duration. This is very interesting. I have downloaded a metronome app and will give this a go tonight. Thanks for the insitght.
  12. Welcome to the forums. If you ever get out to West Tx/NM, shoot me a message there are some good matches here.
  13. Hey guys, Its been a while since I have been here, I thought it would be a good idea for me to tag up! I will finish my masters in the fall and with things starting to slow down, I have been able to get back on the gun. I shot Carlsbad last weekend and I could not have had more fun! For those in the Texas New Mexico area the guys in Carlsbad put on a fantastic monthly match. I am registered to shoot Area 4, I hope to see yall there. Calvin
  14. I have used shot timer, and it works in a pinch.. I had another app, but it was pretty much terrible. Let us know what you end up with Calvin
  15. This is Awesome! Thanks for the effort that went into this!
  16. It was a great match! We ended up a little we, but it all turned out great! as Aaron said, thanks to the directors and the ROs for hanging tough! See yall soon, Calvin
  17. Yup. The 6AR/Grendel/LBC is a good choice for games compared to the 6.5 version. A Berger 105 Hybrid going 2650-2700 is hard to beat. I really like mine. Iam right there with you, I built a 243 lbc ( 6.5 Grendel necked down to 6mm) to buck the wind a little more and shoot a little flatter. I'm shooting the 95 gn vld and it's a hammer on coyotes..
  18. The above has certainly been true of me. I enjoy seeing what's out there. To some level all guns are interesting.
  19. welcome! the knowledge here is abundant and the forum is full of great people.
  20. I think a used rem 870 is about the best self defense shot gun there is. You can also get into a nova tactical for a decent price.
  21. Yes sir! This is a great resource! I have been gone for some time finishing up school, looking to get back in the game, i came here first!
  22. Thanks! I really think its a beautiful gun,
