  1. I am looking for a pair of low profile ear muffs. When i shoot shotgun or rifle the stock rasies up the ear muffs just enough to let a little bit of noise in, shotgun isnt bad but my comped ar is really loud and I want to save what hearing i have left. I dont mind the ear plugs they just take longer to insert. Let me know what you all use. Thanks Coleman
  2. I got over 10k of 223 brass on my last patch of lizard litter it was taking longer to get the job done so i replaced it. I do use mineral spirits, it seems to help cut the lanolin done and gives it a nice luster to the brass
  3. Check the shellplate for stuff(tumbling media) where the rim of the case sits into.
  4. I bought a burris Mtac 1.5-6x w/7.62 retical I thought was for 223, but when it showed up it had the ballistic co 7.62. Maybee i ordered the wrong one or shipped the wrong one, I dont want to send it back and wait a few months to get it back, besides i can use it for my ar-308. Being a Noob is scopes. My 3-gun is starting in march in my area. Will this work for 223? the farthest shot will be 300yrds. Thanks Coleman
  5. This is what i do. Works will for oversize military brass.
  6. Stevie, What i want to do it get the parts ordered over time and fit the simple stuff and let a smith fit the rest. Thanks for the info . Coleman
  7. I got a matched STI stripped frame and stripped upper no barrel. The question i have will 1911 parts interchange with the STI 2011? I know nothing about STI so I thought i would ask before i start ordering parts. Thanks Coleman
  8. Check your state laws first. You can build a ar lower from a 0%-80% forging or it depends on your skill level and equipment you have or of billet, but You have to build it no one ELSE someone can sit thier and tell you how to do it, but cant do the work. You dont have to put a ss number on it but it is advisable, if get stolen or leo sees it with no number they will presume stolen. You can sell it but you have to put your Name and address on it. most people dont for the liabilty of it. Not everybody has the talent/equipment to build thier own. thier alot of plans out thier if you look for them. You can build alot of other guns/pistols if you can find a parts kit. some guns you have to follow the rules set by the ATF. Hope this helps here is a good gun building site with alot of very cool builds. http://www.weaponsguild.com
  9. I am getting ready to but carbide grit on my ar and shotgun. I like the feel of skateboard tape on my pistol and was wanting something more peremant on my ar and shotgun. I got in some 60/90 grit and 120. The 120 seems to fine, the 60/90 still seems a little bit fine but i can be wrong. I am not wanting a big build up of grit in the slots i milled in the tubing. What does everybody use. Thanks Coleman
  10. Their is a group buy on the weapons guild for complete ar-15 BCG for $98 shipped. http://www.weaponsguild.com/forum/index.php?topic=36791.0 Pre order for $150 http://www.shadowops...om/default.aspx Edit to add http
  11. I took a 1" 6 point deep socket and used a lathe to bore the hole out deeper now it fits over the dies without taking them apart. Even the elcheapo socket was on the hard side, but machiinble with carbide tooling.
  12. Pics will help alot! Try taking the shell plate off so it can go farther in.
  13. I am going to put a counter on my 650 so i can keep track of how many pulls of handle i do, so i know when to take apart and relube the press. When i process 223 brass or 308 brass i just dump brass in and go to town, it will be nice to know how many i did in a certain amount of time. last month i did over 7k of 223 brass, other then that i count primer boxes.
  14. I had the same problem You need to polish the inside of the poweder funnel an powder measure and a dryer sheet in the powder merasure to help stop static. It didnt eliminate it totaly, but it did help. I put a lee universal expander in station #5 on my 650 when i process brass, just enought to open it a little. Take a empty sized case and the powder funnel and slip the case in the powder funnel and take a light to see if the case can move around in the powder funnel, if you can see the case mouth that is catching a few balls of powder expand the case mouth a little more. I keep a brush and canned air when i do 223. Make sure you get the case lube off the shell plate and inside the groove that holds the rim, if not powder will pack in thier and make the case not stand straight up. You can use a paper clip bent to clean out the slots. Hope this help Coleman
  15. I have 2 overhead lights, but i was still having shadows and and hard to see the powder in the case on my 650. Now that i have added the led lights i have no doubt on the powder in the case or anything else inside the press.
  16. I love mine. worth the $$ You can make it yourself if you have the time.
  17. When you clean your car out(under seats and trunk) and find enough loose ammo to shoot a match.

  19. I was wondering the same. Can you lemishine them to get all the primer compund out and get a higher $$ if they are clean?
  20. Thanks guys That is what i wanted to know. I have had this rifle over a year and only put 60rnds thru it, time to go play. Thanks again Coleman
  21. I am going to be sighting in my DPMS LR308 and was wondering what the point of aim is at 25yrds for 100yrds or 200yrds. So i can get the feel for this rifle, then i will go for longer shots. Hopefully i will use it in 3gun next year. Thanks for your input. Coleman
  22. make sure you buy on with what barrel you want, as new barrrels are $$$. I got a 18.5" barrel with ghost ring sights with interchangable chokes, I am having a hard time with flyers with the sights. as for far steel i just reload a little hotter shells I use to have a M1 with a 21" barrel vent rib, I loved that gun till it got stolen.
  23. If you have your own lathe make your own rod, or find a piece of plastic tubing that will fit over the rod, but still let the case slide off.
  24. I just got my Mr. Bulletfeeder last week and only have been able to reload about 500rnds, so far it is the cats meow.
