Any matches in LV during SHOT?
trickpony replied to gmshtr's topic in Match Announcements - Pistol Only - USPSA, IPSC & Misc.
There are USPSA matches this Sunday as well as next Sunday, then on Wednesday afternoon/evening there is a steel challenge match - all held at the Desert Sportsman Pistol Club. There is a GSSF match in Boulder City on the 22-23 for you tupperware fans. I'll be in town all week as well and plan to shoot both USPSA matches and the steel match. See ya there! -

Good call Bulm540!

AWESOME racker! That's the last component I need for my open 9.
-
I'll be shooting Limited again and may shoot open if I can bare staying near the Barry/Quincy area for a whole week again.

Oh the '05 Stang has ALL THE STUFF and more! WOW what a machine... I have a 1979-1993 body style stang that makes 434HP to the rears and back when it was a 343HP machine it would run 10.90's in the quarter, the new stang just needs some traction and gears and it'll go low 11's EASY and pull some serious g's on the skidpad. One very fine automobile

Shot this classifier today in the wonderful Kansas weather - 15 degrees and sunny. Limited B class Time = 7.67 Points = 54 HF = 7.0404 What a fun classifier

Don't forget about the contingency program that STI offers if you run their frames. That's the main reason I go STI over SVI (besides the LONG wait).

Does anyone have a good load using the BA-10 in 40 and making major?
-
WOW! You guys are dedicated... I'm a fair weather shooter, if it's below about 10 degrees I don't go.

Joe D, I'm not sure if my Kimber with 10 round cobra mags will fit in an IDPA legal box. I use a 9mm 1911 for IDPA.
-
I use the Tripp "CobraMags" in the 10 round variety as well and some 9 round McCormick mags. They all feed flawlessly in my Kimber Gold Match. I'd recommend the Kimber. Mine has been great and eats any ammo I through at it (as long as it fits the case gauge - tight chamber).

Shot Six Chickens today with the Limited gun, 9.03 with 4 points down. HF of 6.2016 I think. First decent classifier in MONTHS!

Anyone know what's going on Friday after the match??? -
I'm another one of the 12 classmates that took the Double Impact Training. WOW! Max and Travis did a great job tailoring the training to each and every one of us on an individual basis. I just moved up to "B" class Limited prior to the class and thanks to Max and Travis I have an incredible amount of confidance in my shooting now for the Area 3 match. We learned so much more than the basics, Max and Travis spent time showing us things that I believe no other GM shooters think about during a stage. I can't tell you enough about the excellent training they provided so I recommend that you take the class and see for yourselves. I'm already thinking of a way to get them out to Kansas again next year for another class. Thanks Max and Travis and good luck at the Nationals! Brett

Give Greg @ Copeland Customs a call. He's great to work with and will build an open gun any way you want it. His phone number is 620-442-7470

Virgil Tripp did a great job for us, it's too bad he's not hard chroming guns anymore (at least to the general public). We had a hard time finding someone as knowledgeable as Virgil - although not the quickest, he did a great job. We recently found another great hard chromer - TechPlate in Anaheim CA. They had great turn around time (10 days), very knowledgeable staff, lots of plating options and good prices. Give them a try! (800) 553-1668

I use Vita N320 with Precision SWC's in my .45. Really clean and less recoil. I switched from 231.
-
Just for the record I Love my Sprinco in my L10 gun with a 10 Lb. recoil spring. The gun recoils MUCH softer and my splits improved dramatically. I need to order one for my Limited gun and my open gun. I'll be calling soon Jim or Alan!!!

Here's why I load my own: (these figures are from memory) There are a lot of options out there and if you buy supplies in bulk you can save more. Say you want a clean burning smokeless powder - Vita N320 @ $20/Lb Use Winchester WSP primers @ $15/1000 Buy 1000 new Starline cases @ $98 Buy 1000 Zero 180 gr. JHP's @ $66 Load 5 grains of the N320 at 1.170" OAL to make roughly 172+ pf. 1400 rds/Lb = $.014/rd. primers = $.015/rd. "new" brass = $.098/rd. Zero's = $.066/rd. Total per round = $.193 x 100 = $19.30 Use Precision bullets, WST powder, and your cleaned brass = $7.10/100 rounds LOTS OF OPTIONS Buy 2 650's!
