  1. Oh and of course no daydream would be complete without a clear lower made of some kind of tuff plastic.
  2. Nice info. Let's keep it going. It sounds like I either need a very carefully spelled out provision in my will explaining the status of these. I suppose I could see three directions on that front... One would be to call for their destruction in the event of my death... Two would be destruction or direct inheritance to my sole survivor or a chosen heir and allow the named heir or survivor to choose to keep it in a similar status to the one I held it in or destroy it if they don't wish to have it... Third I could place them in trust but I don't know if that would jive. Also a few notes on intent or my reasoning for taking interest. I'm less concerned with avoiding the registration of a serialized lower but more interested in the custom features a home build could offer me. I had visions of actually milling one into a neat cut away model for my wall with all the pins and hammer etc duracoated different colors. I also thought it would be cool to incorporate a big mag well in one or mill a grip right into the lower so I could put 1911 grips on it. A lower and upper made of stainless and monolithic could be really really cool for a long barrel precision rifle. I could even go as far as to re scale the dimensions and have a working miniature that would do everything but fire (unless I made some custom round for it but I'm not that ambitious) hehe imagine a GI Joe sized gun that had removable mags and a working charging handle!!!! In other words I'm daydreaming. If I luck out and get to actually make that daydream come true someday I'd like to do it on the right side of the law.
  3. They just accepted my order for 2 G17's. Thank you very much for the heads up!
  4. I'll shoot... If you fix the cigarette lighter. Also we don't have to say "hut hut hut hut hut hut hut" while we shoot the stages do we?
  5. +1 for the Blue! Not hard to upgrade as well. Once you understand the core concept that Dillon uses in their machine design you can trade up all the way to the 1050 without getting too overwhelmed by the changes. Also upgrading machine at a time let's you figure out how much Dillon you really need to keep up with your shooting needs.
  6. Heavy long bullets can cause difficulty if the bullet is actually protruding down into the case too far. You can actually lose performance over a shorter lighter bullet. I like the HRNDY 75's too. Nice SD and they don't make you cuss trying to load them up.
  7. The best way is still to test them and make small changes until you hit the best balance.
  8. It's pretty scary making the jump from single to Dillon progressive but it's a lot of fun once you get comfortable. Take your time and ignore the rounds per hour that Dillon says it will do. PM me and we can swap emails. You can email me anytime if you get stuck or have a question.
  9. So apparently you can buy a hunk of aluminum or some other appropriate material and mill it into a working AR receiver and that's perfectly legal as long as it's for your own use and you can never sell it or transfer it or take it out of the state. Here's the questions: - Where can I read all about this? - Has anyone published a book on the matter? - Are there schematics for the AR that can be used to do this? - Can I take it to a match? Here's the other questions: - What does a person have to do to actually get permission to build, register and assign a serial number to one? Not to sell just to have a personally branded rifle - Has anyone done this and what experiences can you offer on the subject? Thanks
  10. Hey hey hey. You guys are talking like this on MY forum. I traded a Vulcan Poly lower to Brian for the site just this morning.
  11. M...and...P...Ten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tell me more. I swear I just poured half a cup of coffee on the floor when I saw that. Sigh now if only HK would release a USP in 10
  12. +1 for power pistol. -1200 for Clays major pressure spikes are not a good mix with new loaders.
  13. They haven't gone too wild on the auction sights. If it doesn't have to be an L model I think a member here had one in the classified recently. Search p30
  14. Nickel will run through your Dillon dies no sweat. The better if you use their case lube to prep. The only thing to remember is that nickel brass doesn't hold up under multiple firings and loadings quite the same as brass brass. Keep on eye out for brass showing through the nickel plating and when this shows up discard that casing. I've never tried annealing nickel to revive it so I can't say that it would be a good thing or not. Honestly if you can afford to use once fired only 1 time and then leave it behind your probably better off. Also I've found that nickel is more likely to raise a rim around the base of the bullet in the crimp stage. That wrinkle will cause it to not fit the case gauge or more importantly the chamber. Just take it easy with the crimp to avoid that problem. It should be enough that you can't push the bullet down into the case but not so much that you can't feel the case mouth around the bullet with your fingers. Welcome to reloading btw. I actually enjoy it more than shooting..... almost
  15. +1 for Rich at Canyon Creek. Powder stuff is neat too I had their parts in my pre M XD's.
  16. Your math jives CZ as best I can tell.
  17. According to Siberian Husky rule number 274 anything below the doorknob is legally theirs. I'm afraid you have no case against this sandwich stealerer. Next time get mild peppers on it. Our dogs consider them kryptonite!
  18. Ok where is that? I need a stable match this year in Michigan to develop some ammo and test some weapons.
  19. Ok I know that defensive multi gun is the new deal but I can't find a game anywhere. I also can't figure out what I can run, how far I should plan on shooting, or what in gods name I'm supposed to do with the shotgun shells??? Put them in my vest? Arm sleeves? On the gun? Swallow them before the match and then regurgitate on cue when I need another slug? Somebody with a clue give me a compass here. I'm lost.
  20. CDP is pure joy (more joy if they would let the 10MM back in!!!) something about being able to control that much gun and shoot it fast and accurate is very satisfying. That being said SSP is a blast. ESP exists solely to quench our thirst for the lowest possible times and to support our endless need for speed. Do all three plus pay the occassional tribute to the gods of the guns with that funny revolvo thingy going round and round. Those who play all 5 tend to be very happy people for some strange reason.... You can't deny though that whatever gun you run, Nothing beats that flapping sound that a vest makes when you slap leather 8D
  21. I've got a G34 Slide from lonewolf that I would like to put on my esp gun. From what I can tell that'f fine but it happens to have a threaded barrel on it with a thread protector. Has anyone ran a threaded barrel on their ESP or for that matter CDP gun? Did it cause any rule problems. I think my gun still fits the box even with the threads sticking forward from the muzzle end of the slide. Any input would be appreciated
  22. Mine's a doozy. I'm going to try to quit swearing... Lol if you knew me you would understand how dam ..um..uh..I mean darned hard that's going to be. What are some others???
  23. I hate that Honey Boo Boo's parents aren't in jail for child abuse or endangerment. Seriously how do you publicly neglect your child that hard and instead of getting arrested you get a TV show! Go ahead respond that's fine by me.
  24. Anybody get harassed at the range to sell one of your AR's yet? I had one on the bench to shoot and one hanging in the rack. Had so many people ask me to sell one that I'm thinking of taking bicycle chains next time to lock the one I'm not using on the rack! I am so proud of my local shop btw. They have always been a little pricey but they are a small store. They sold the last AR they had in stock during the rush for exactly the same price as the first one and that was amid a couple jerks trying to have a bidding war to take it away from the guy buying it. They also turned down a young guy that came in to sell his AR asking $900 because he needed the cash. Instead they consigned it for him and listed it no reserve on Gunbroker and the kid walked away an extra 500 bucks heavy. I heard Mr. H even gave him a couple hundred cash up front to see him through until the auction closed. That's what I'm talkin about.
