  1. Yea, yesterday was a blast. I didn't shoot the match, although I'm kicking myself because of it. I did learn a lot very quickly. I'll be back next month to show ya'll what I've got. Anyway, yes airsoft is a blast. It's also great toasting others and knowing that you're about to get wasted from somewhere. I had a competing team in airsoft that happily only had one loss out of 30 matches. To answer Rhino's remark. Oh yes. Airsoft guns are very easily modified to higher fps'. Most pistols oob start at about 250 fps. You can easily reach the 450 mark though. Once you get into the larger weapons, i.e. M16/M4, you can attain 600fps or more in the states. Like I told them all yesterday, you can get anything from a Derringer to a vulcan cannon. And yes, you can get that other guys open gun you've been dreaming about to. If ya'll have any questions, you can email me anytime, happy to help. Thanks for a great day twix, rhino, and all else who were at IN. KS
  2. Seems like you're getting too comfortable in practice, and once the real pressure is on a few rounds in everything goes to the dogs. Practice like it's the nats on that first dry-fire run everytime. KS
  3. No, I thought there was a newer one, I've got Shooter Ready, and it's decent enough, basically goes over all the basics. Hmmm... have to check into that KS
  4. For the cadence maneuver use a standard musical rhythm counter. They work great. You can pick a cheap one up at almost any music store where they carry instruments. They run at about $10-30 bucks and will have any cadence you want. KS
  5. Any of you guys seen Rob Leatham's video on reloading? Might help quite a bit. KS
  6. Would you like a little finger with that ham and cheese sandwhich ma'am? lol KS
  7. I have a MK2 and I absolutely love the little thing. It's extremely accurate ( in my case ) and I have only had ammo related reliability problems. Mine has the smaller bull barrel and that makes a difference for me compared to the other longer versions. Just my .02 . KS
  8. Alright guys, don't laugh. 12 years ago.... ( Lord. I was 7 ) Sitting at home flipping through the cable stations came on American Shooter. It was hosting a Doug Koenig tourney. Been druling ever since.
  9. Thanks guys. lol texasag, no it really is for a friend, he has a horrible money constriction that i am very happily not nearly as bound by.
  10. Haha, yea something else might be a little more attentive to the female population... maybe, would you like to come shoot my gun? jk. I'm very blessed ( this will be one of many times you all will hear it ), I'm 19 and have been lucky to find a women who loves me, tolerates my absolute obsession with guns, and even has a slight interest in them. Within the next year I plan to ask for her hand in marriage. I suppose by then I'll be gm status. Can't do it without a good woman backing me.
  11. Thanks guys, any thoughts on the new .22 rimfire Kimber just put out? Or would it be better to just go for the conversion kit? I think I'm going to go with the rimfire and a spr. to save me switch out time, and that I don't really want to do that at the range. ( my closest range is about 40 minutes away ) so when I go, I go to shoot.
  12. I've been looking for a low - midline price gun for a buddy of mine to start shooting with and I ran across the Charles Daly series. Having never really heard of these, are they any good? I'd hate to suggest my friend buy one then it turn out to be a lemon. He's expressed interest in running Lim-10 so I'd want him to be able to do well, but without having to fork out a huge part of his wallet. I know he wants a 1911 variant, where should I be looking? KS
  13. Actually, Terra Haute is the closest club I've heard of yet. I'm only about 40 minutes out, so you can more than expect to see me around.
  14. Thanks Guys, Please keep all the advice coming. And yes, that search function has become my best friend. KS
  15. I'd also like to add, that I am looking for a member somewhat in my general area to tag with and learn a few things. I learn much faster seeing what needs to be done rather than reading what needs to be done. KS
  16. I'd like to introduce myself, my name's Kevin Siddle ( I prefer that over my handle. ) First, I'd like to give you all a bit of background about myself. Unlike most all of you, I haven't been around in the shooting circuit for more than 20 years or so. As a matter of fact, I'm only 19. I have grown up around firearms all my life, I took my first shot of anything substantial ( a ruger mk2 ) when I was about 5 and have been shooting off and on my whole life. For the past few years however, I ventured out of real firearms, and found my way into airsoft. Currently, I own my own retail airsoft distribution. Airsoft is my forte. Any questions any of you have please feel free to ask, I can answer almost anything. However, I did shoot often enough that my skills didn't deteriorate. I come to you all very green, but very much desiring to be the best. I have had some formal firearms training, mostly through my father who was a police officer in his twenties but later developed the world's largest defensive tactics corporation. For any Specialized Military or Law Enforcement, that's PPCT. Also, I live in the middle part of Illinois, Charleston to be exact where I attend college. For those who don't know where it is, I'm about 2 hours north of St. Louis, where I'm originally from. Now to the grit. Recently, I have become completely taken again by the IPSC circuit. I have been shooting much more lately, but am looking to acquire a pistol that would let me compete in the standard class. I do not have much interest in Glocks, as I used to own a Glock 22 and I didn't really care for it. I would like something that could take me from a no-nose newbie to a top ranked competitor. I have been mostly looking at the STI series. I am mostly interested in a double stack, 911 variant chambered in .40 S&W. Any ideas? I would prefer to get going soon, so the Valtro series are out of the question. Any suggestions? I would appreciate and help anyone has to offer, as I like to get information from as many sources as possible knowing that someone else's way of doing something might not be the best way for me. I hope everyone has an insight to who I am and what I'm about. Thanks for anything anyone wants to add. Kevin Siddle
