  1. Pre-production model of Otto Load 2. Pic with shells.
  2. I shoot a Benny Hill 930, the feed port and forend are opened up. Only difference from a basic Benny model is a welded lifter. With 8 shell I average 7.8 to 8.0 weakhand. Over 6 months I've practiced 12 hrs max. Today after watching videos for the first time of the "load 2 method" I stacked 8 shells on my bench in pairs, making four stacks. I was able to grab shells similar to the way that the TwinS and similar chest mounted loaders allow. After 40 min I was loading 8 shells and beating a 6.7 par time!! I feel like if I had a proper carrier I could have been loading 6.0. I was having to grab shells off of a table causing much more movement than a carrier on my chest. Just wanted to share my observations. I really believe that this method could become very fast for me. I have small hands and the weakhand method just never felt this smooth. Are there differences in the cut people use on the feed port when using this method? I feel like it could be benificial to remove more material from my feed port alowing my hand to place more pressure in the shells towards the lifter to align the shells with the tube.
  3. Today I mounted and sighted in my buckmark with an Allchin mounted C-more. This thing is fast, clear, bright, and amazing! At the end of the day ive got an extra piece, the washer that came with the mount. One question, What is the washer for? I will not be using it most likley... unless I am really missing something. Please let me know if it has a purpose that I overlooked. Today I was hitting 6" plates from 10-50 yds no problem this sight and mount is amazing. I didn't use locktite because I wasn't sure if I will be taking things apart to add the washer somewhere. I ran 400 rds through gun no problems with sight mount or gun, should I locktite things down or am I good to go.
  4. Thanks for the picture. Any one else have experience with the Bobro mount? I'm really into the QD feature.
  5. I appreciate any feedback that you have on the Bobro mount as I am looking into it or a Larue. When you attached the scope rings did you use lock-tite? Were there any instructions on specific Torque settings on the scope rings? I loik the clean look of these rings but want to know how they will hold up. Can you post pics of it mounted. Thanks for your feedback

  7. I am seriously considering the purchase of the 3G model upper from LOKI. Actually, I have already ordered it! The 3g has all of the features that I wanted and the price is right. The 3G model is the SDMR 20" model cut down to 18". To fit my budget I went with a button rifled barrel. LOKI uses a Liberty barrel. My understanding is that Liberty barrels are the button rifled verson of saturn barrels. The barrel is SS medium contour and is fluted under the handguard. I am told that it's about 40oz. I was wondering if anyone has shot this barrel or any of the LOKI uppers with Liberty barrels. I will do a full range report once I have the upper until then what do people think? Im using the standard BCG. Thank you
  8. If you don't have a great job lined up rethink you're move. I am a lifer here in the golden state, but it's expensive and we have to shoot limited 10.... It's fun but not the same for USPSA. On the other hand ICORE is alive and well. My local range in Central California has a very active group of revolver shooters. You can trade in you're STI EDGE for my 686+ ill throw in brass and moon clips. Now seriously welcome to the golden state!
  9. It seems as most high end barrels offer a fitted bolt, what are the benefits of this. How much more accurate? Better for durability? Save the extra couple of bucks and get a standard bolt or get the fitted bolt? Is it a process one could do at home?
  10. Any experience with the following barrels. Lother walther, JP (wilson), Bravo company, Leija. Ill be ordering a mid-weight contour barrel 18" rifle length gas system. Shooting 55gr bullets mostly. What would be a reason to pick one over the other? Are all barrels at this price point the same in accuracy and durability? Its going to be for 3 gun but i only want to buy once.
  11. Love my new Weigand rear sight. Got the wide .140 rear notch, cant beat the view and doesnt seem to hurt accuracy for ICORE.
  12. I have been running Dawson 10 rd mags without problems in a kimber 9mm about 2k rounds so far no issues. However please chime in on this but they are a pain in the butt to unload. If i shoot a match and end up with a mag containing 9 or 10 rounds I cannot unload them without using a screwdriver or similar object to get the first 2 rounds out. I take a flat screwdriver and press foreward to get round out. not dangerous or damaging anything but a pain.
  13. I have found that everything feeds in mine except for wal-mart value remington. ++1 On federal 7.5 value pack.
  14. Best slug for 3 gun is the one that works for you. Go and purchase 3-4 boxes of slugs with variety. Some full power and some light recoil then go shoot some groups. Have fun and take notes on what works.
  15. I'm shooting a 6" 686 + and have been using the stock sights. It's time for them to go. I have seen totally different widths and heights from different companies, the dawson seems low, the C&S and SDM seem wide Im looking to have a narrower front sight with fiber optic and to eliminate the white outline on the rear sight. On my 1911 I have settled on a black rear bomar adjustable sight with a .100 wide dawson front sight. To save the money on trying different setups what are recommended brands and dementions for what I am looking for? I may just black out the rear. What are some options? Thanks
  16. I appreciate every forum post that inspired and helped build my 930. These patterns have been shot from a 24" non-ported factory barrel with a Briley extended IC Choke. The barrel has a fiber optic front sight and no rear sight. Buck shot patterns have been shot with 9 pellet buck shot Rio low recoil, Winchester Ranger low recoil, and Federal LE Flight control Low recoil were shot standing at 25 YDS. I placed a sticker with "R" over Rio shot, "W" for Winchester, and no sticker for Federal. A one inch dot was used as an aiming point. Average group size of tightest 5 pellets for Rio was 7" Winchester and Federal were 4" as you can see the Winchester and federal both grouped about the same for best 5 pellets however the flight control really shined when it came to keeping the last 4 pellets close to the group. The slug target was shot with Winchester Ranger Low Recoil slugs it is an ICORE target painted for near and far. 4" black center. Shots were fired standing from 50 yds. 10 shots, no misses, cold barrel. First time with slugs in the gun (about two months ago) so you can see that my first 2 shots were high. I know that from a bench I could easily shoot 3-4" 5 shot groups at 50 yards. At this time gun has about 100 buckshot 60 slugs and 800 bird shot through it. Some light primer strikes with cheap remington ammo no other complaints. I have a Benny Hill trigger Job and C-rums slotted lifter this gun is very fun to shoot.
  17. sgammo.com and ammunitiontogo.com also look at gunbroker.com these are my favorite places to get ammo
  18. Thank you for posting that information. At this time my grip is pinned with a stiff piece of rubber because I was afraid to use the drill.
  19. Plenty of 9mm 1911 guns run 8 or 9 lb recoil springs without an issue. If you cant feed with a lighter spring you may be using force to overcome poor geometry.
  20. My Kimber Target II 9mm used to have issues with any thing other than 115 and 124 fmj. I could not even use round lead bullets with similar profiles. Had a gunsmith tune an extractor and re-cut the feed ramp. Cost about 100.00 now it will eat round, flat, hollow, and cone bullets of every weight. A modern 1911 should feed and shoot any properly sized bullet. My understanding is that most 9mm major guys shoot HP and flat nose bullets. Why shouldn't yours?? Have a gunsmith that works on race guns check it out, should be an easy fix.
  21. I am finishing up my 930 build and at this time I cant decide for or against getting the D-Slot placed in my lifter. I know that I am sending my lifter to C-Rums to get welded. I can't decide if the slot has a purpose in the 930 lifter when welded or if it ic cosmetic. Does it help feed shells? Does it aid in loading? Why have a slot added? Anyone for or against slots in lifter? Please reply if you have experience, please no hearsay. thanks
  22. Edna is great to deal with. Be sure to ask for her. If you are ordering a turkey barrel without ports don't bother talking with anyone else. I am way stoked to have a factory 24" non-ported barrel. 180.00 including shipping took 3 weeks. My 930 was a 28" waterfowl model, now I have a backup 28" ported barrel for whenever I want to shoot clays with buddies or if I ever wanted to go open.
  23. I was wondering to groove or not to groove. I personally like a smooth wood grip on a 686+.
  24. + 1 Chrono at the distance recommended for competition. All rule books are available as a pdf online. ICORE, USPSA, etc... these are the distances that should be used.
