  1. $110 Shipped for both. With all the parts I have in it I'm asking $350 Shipped.
  2. Unfortunatley I am gonna stop the build and sell the slide, barrel, comp, and some other parts for the build. I don't have the funds to finish it because I am moving into another shooting sport. I will be keeping my production gun though. If anyone is interested in buying the slide, barrel and comp W/ thread protector, a brand new CR Speed holster, and a slightly used magwell let me know and I can package a good price for everything. With the slide I will include a factory firing pin and spring, factory plunger, and factory guide rod. Blcksmk

    Talon Grip Tape

Thanks. Just wanted to double check before the next match comes around!

    Talon Grip Tape

Has anyone ever had experience with Talon grip tape? I came across it the other day while searching for a better solution to the stick on stuff just for the sides of the grip. http://talongungrips.com/main.sc Seems like the Talon stuff wraps all the way around the grip including the finger grooves. So just to double check, is it legal for production? Also, is the Dawson baseplate grip tape legal for production as well? http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=80000FAD-1304364188 Blcksmk
  5. The only other magwell that I know of is the SJC. However, it is really deep and some of their magwells don't allow the STD baseplates to seat as where others did. Seems like a inconsistency issue. I currently have the JP and don't like it either. I think I'll be moving to the Dawson ICE in the next few weeks.
  6. You could just buy a Vanek drop in trigger kit and go with that. Nothing needs to be touched.
  7. PM sent... Replied.
  8. SJC makes a "stealth" mount but you can't run full 9MM major loads through it according to their website. However, I would go with a comp instead of a ported barrel. Much more effecient when venting the gasses which will help keep the muzzle down better than a ported barrel.
  9. So Auto Comp is the preffered powder for open pistols rather than HS6? Seems like I see much more HS6 data then I do Auto Comp. But I will give both a try and see what I like best. Blcksmk
  10. One of the options I am looking at. Sticking with .40 since I reload it....and have ample supply right now. Did you ever figure out what your building? Or have you started? Blcksmk
  11. I might have to take you up one that... I'll get back to you by the end of the week.
  12. Lightning strike make some. They are good quality I have used them in L10 with my SJC magwell when I had it. I have 2 sitting around I would sell if your interested... Blcksmk
  13. Bayou bullets are good in comp guns. A friend of mine uses them and he has no problem with build up in his comp or barrel. I'm going to make the switch from hard cast bullets which seem to leave a little leading and go to moly coated. Blcksmk
  14. Really? What kind of load are you using? It just seems hard to do that especially with a major open load?
  15. Glock 22 is great to use for a starting gun. Like some said, it could be the last gun you buy or build for competition. I started out with a 22 in production and download my ammo. Shoots better then my 9MM G17. All in all its personal preference. Get out there and go shoot with what you have then make a decision on what you want to change and keep. Blcksmk
  16. Yeah - you're not kidding there. I burned up a couple of drill bits doing my slide. I suppose I could make cuts in the sides as well, but it works pretty well as-is. Is that a open gun as well? I was aiming for speed when we made the cuts in my slide. I want the slide to move as fast as possible so that I can have faster follow up shots and less overall weight.
  17. I switched my CR speed holders by flipping the hanger so that they are lower on my belt. When I had them set higher it seemed that I had to twist my whole body and lose my center balance when I needed to switch mags. When I lowered them I was able to keep more up-right and on balance which allowed me better follow up shots after the mag change.
  18. Gun looks good. Steel comps are not really needed for these guns. Alum comps usually do the trick. As for the STS VS. Burris deal...I simply chose the STS for the reason of I didn't have to remove it to replace the battery. Parts should be here tomorrow.
  19. He is using the online par timer. Heres the link: http://www.predatortactical.com/uploads/media/Flashfiles/drawbeepSlider082504.swf
  20. L_10 Shooter, Gun looks good! No comp? Or is the barrel ported? Also, whats your load data for your bullets? Moly can build up some in the comp but not bad. Jacketed bullets are prefered. I will be using Moly coated bullets or even some hard cast bullets if I need them quickly for a match. I have a local supplier about 30 minutes from me for a good cast bullet. Firing pin has been ordered as well as the slide racker. Got a Lightning strike steel striker for the firing pin. Have one in my production gun and got the pull down to 2lbs. Blcksmk
  21. Just a quick update... I ordered the C-More STS today with the mount for it. Should be here by Friday. I also looked at several options for a slide racker and came across this on Brownells. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=42165/product/GLOCK_SLIDE_RACKER Instead of cutting up the slide in front of the C-More I will probably go with this. And finally I started to search for a good load for .40 open guns. I came across this load in the thread posted above. 155GR Bullet W/ 7.0GR of HS6 @ 1.125 OAL. What do you guys think of this load? I still need to get a chrono to check my loads but those with experience can tell me if this is good or bad? Blcksmk
  22. Jeff Abernathy of Precision Gun Works did it for me! He did a great job! I will say, the finish on these slides make them hard as a rock and takes some time to cut. We burned two cutters trying to do those three cuts. How do you like the Burris Fastfire II? I've been debating between the C-More STS and the Fastfire. I have some .40 Major data that I pulled from the reloading section on here. I'll see if I can dig it up somewhere around here. Blcksmk
  23. After many hours of searching and looking through old threads I decided that I would build a Glock 22 .40 Cal Open blaster for USPSA and the occasional GSSF matches. I'm sure many people are wondering "why .40?". Really, I am playing around with this. I'm not looking to win every match plus I get .40 brass for free. With that said, here are my plans for this gun: Lone Wolf Barrel, Lone Wolf / Jager comp, slide lightening, trigger job, C-More STS. So far I have had the slide work done, and got the barrel and comp put in. I went with the lone wolf comp for now because I got it for free and wanted to see how it would perform before I bought a Jager. I've got some pictures as well... I'll be sure to update you guys as I order more parts and start to develop loads for the gun. Blcksmk
  24. I'm currently in the building process of a Glock Open .40 gun. I'll post some pictures up of the top half tonight or tomorrow. Had my gunsmith lighten the slide which should allow the gun to cycle a little faster. If anything it looks cool now. Like Jman said, a 9 Major gun would run much smoother than a .40 open gun however, I'm different and like to try other things outside the normal. Started a build thread on my .40 Open gun. Hope it will help you along the way... http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=129081 Blcksmk
