Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I purchased a couple of the Arredondo +5/+6 Glock magazine extenders for a Glock 9mm major project I've been working on. At first glance, I am EXTREMELY suspect of the floorplate locking mechanism. Seeing the little locking tabs opposing the force of the spring with a fully loaded magazine just seems to look like a recipe to spill your mag guts out on the ground during a stage. What has been your experience with these? Any issues of the floorplate popping off or dismantling once a mag drops free? Have you gone to a different version from a different manufacturer? The mag extension itself looks well built but why couldn't they just use a locking floorplate like on the standard oem mags (or some other more secure mechanism)?
  2. I have a JP magwell on a G17 and have always been unhappy with the little lip that is left. It would seem easy enough to build a little ramp into the back channel insert to solve this problem. So I'm looking for a better magwell and need recommendations. Questions: 1. This is an older JP magwell. Have they started ramping the insert? 2. I like the Dawson ICE but had problems in the past with not being able to seat standard mags w/o the extended baseplates. I would like the gun to run with both standard mags and mags with extenders so I believe that rules out Dawson unless they have updated their design. 3. Any other magwells that offer a smoother funnel and allow seating of standard mags?
  3. I am in need of a sling recommendation for my Benelli M2. I have an upcoming 2 gun match (shotgun & pistol) and the match is requiring that the shotguns be slung for portions of the stages. I'm looking for a two-point sling. I see the M2 has a sling swivel hole on the bottom of the buttstock but that there is nowhere else on the front of the gun to mount a sling. I would like to sling this over a shoulder with the gun across my front (similar to an AR15 M4 two point setup) of which the lower buttstock mount doesn't seem ideal. So I guess I'm stumped and am need of a solution. What sort of sling setup are you folks recommending?
  4. Well, just to circle back on this topic to provide my feedback. After receiving the oversized charging handle from Brownells, I wasn't a big fan of the ergonomics of it over the factory handle so I returned it. There were a few things I didn't like (heavier than stock handle, very big, rough checkering) and have been enjoying the stock handle the more I use it. I guess it was worth trying out............
  5. As the title states, I'm looking for some photos of a Nordic oversized bolt release button for a Benelli M2. I'm trying to decide between either the Nordic button or the Arredondo one. Anybody have any pics of a Nordic one installed?
  6. Can you provide any details for why you like it better? I'm curious as to the comparison and benefits.
  7. Can one of you tell me which link is too the correct sight?
  8. Oh I agree, a simple thing to do. I've changed sights out on all sorts of firearms so no problem there. I was more curious about what your sight setup looked like after the job was complete......... I've got an idea in my head for how they would look but who knows how accurate that is!
  9. And to clarify, I have some confusion over which model is correct. Which of these two Midway links is the correct one? Both seem to be in the same family on the Brownells site. Midway 1 or Midway 2
  10. So is it simply unscrewing the stock bead (lefty loosey to remove it)? Is it Locktited in place (thus heating it up will help remove it)? I've got some parallel pliers that might help distribute the force to ensure the whole piece comes out without breaking. Your advice is appreciated.
  11. Interesting. So I was thinking that there was an option to simply unscrew the factory stock FO bead and screw in a more substantial bead from a third party vendor. After reading your replies above, that would seem to be not the case. True?
  12. I'm looking to install something a bit more substantial than the stock fiber optic sight on my Benelli M2 Field (21" vent rib barrel). Can you tell me which Hi-Viz fiber optic front sight is the right one to select to add a bit more punch to the front sight? Link to Hi-Viz Shotgun sights
  13. Ok, thanks. I really like this handle on the M4 but haven't heard many folks using this on the M2 Field for 3 gun use. Is this a good option for 3 gun as well or is there another that is preferred?
