i remember my first 3 gun nats-walked a stage the day b4 the match and saw us poppers at 30+ yds hidden amognst the sagebrush. left the range and hit walmart for some high base 6's. used hem on that stage and always bring them to every 3 gun match since...just in case...

i've ran a 5lb recoil spring in my steel gun for many years-115 gr going 940 fps. only drawback is you may not have enuf weight to grab a round in a fully charged SS mag...so i used to only load 9 in the mag.

rich-every one of them is out of stock for old 55 fmj's. had to go to the more expensive hollow point hornadys, but at least they can be had-shame for the hoser stuff though.

wow-was looking to get a thousand 55 grainers for reloading for hose down stuff and can't believe how hard they are to find-everywhere is out of stock. even heard black hills is quoting 9 months till commercial stuff available...

i'll take the busted ones off yer hands-gotta make more 6 rounders...

given the operating systems for the benelli and the 1100 are different, can one assume lightening of an 1100 bolt is just plain stupid?

experimented a few weeks ago on a US popper. using WW aa's 2 3/4 dram, 1 1/8 oz #7 1/2 in a 26" model 1100. popper fell consistently out to about 26 yds with an IC choke-after that, iffy. keep in mind i was taking a long sight picture on the popper. swithed to a full choke and that us popper was going down consistently out to 44 yards, which was hard for me to believe.

my understanding is more than one open gun and yer considered "open". if one could shoot iron sighted rifle, the SG could be open which would really be an advantage.

doritos was funny-but all of these pale in conparison to the old miller lite commercials from 1973-1983. those were almost all classics!

the burner at the steel challenge shoot offs (i think at 5 dogs) back in the 90's. was shooting the final vs the jet, who had a jam on the run. barnhart wouldn't take the bout and ordered a do-over. ended up winning anyway-class act.

i hate reading about car/truck bombs...it's getting old. the press has nothing else to write about. instead of doing stories about spec ops guyz or all the hits our guyz are making thru conventional means, all i see is terrorist acts. gotten to the point i could care less if some puke blows up a hunerd of his own trash.

my first two were custom from rogers. the one on the left was made by rosie rosel who used to work for bill rogers-fit a 5" gun. the one on the right was the j. michael plaxco model. that sucker was canted too much, but fit his comp gun perfectly.

just found out my plate was approved-of course it'll take 8-12 weeks to get the prison population to make it, but hey. got the first "3 GUN" plate-in kalifornia, no less!
