    Which one?

    gas coffee, creamed or black
  2. Grab a cheap gas airsoft gun and go to town. A medium flat rate post office box with some paper crumpled up inside makes a pretty cheap target, and the inside holds the bb. Hang ten around the house and get to shooting. Very cheap. Can have friends come over and get creative with target placement. Also, if you leave it at the same location, you can compete for times.
  3. congrats to the new dads!

  5. This is a great post man, thank you very much. I need to start figuring out what powder I want to get next, I haven't been able to load in almost two years.
  6. I've shot lead out of the factory barrel a few times. Never more than a hundred round before cleaning though. Never had any excess leading. I did end up buying a kkm though after a bad experience with a lone wolf, mostly for peace of mind. Just because I didn't have any issues the three times I did it, wasn't enough to convince me I never would.
  7. I honestly found my black hawk serpa was a bit tight for my ksc Glock 18.
  8. I saw someone was using e3. I really want to try it but I can't find any. I've been trying to get some for a few years now actually, just can't seem to get any. I use solo currently, but I get annoyed with it flaking. Trying to find the best powder all around for pistol calibers.
  9. Yup, thanks from here as well. I'm pretty confident I'm going to need 4.8g in my 115 "funzie" loads just to make 1100 fps. I think next time I'm buying 124g, and setting it at 4.7g instead.
  10. I would say just about anything as well. You can find almost anything in the range you specified.
  11. I see what you mean with the holster. I'm in the habit of having a high grip on the gun like you said, and my thumb hits the front bracket. However, the plus side is that it's getting me out of that habit, which is good because my duty gun doesn't allow me to have that grip anyway. You were right though, it is annoying. For anyone else getting the holster, if you have the option of getting a DOH holster and a tighter one for IDPA, get the Ready Tactical unit. The Blade Tech is nice because you can take off the DOH part, but that bracket when it's in DOH mode IS quite annoying if you keep your thumb on the slide while shooting and drawing.
  12. Well, I shot last night. My biggest downfall was aiming. I couldn't aim my G22 to save my life. I'm going to hit the range once this week before the next match to see how far off my sights are, or if I'm that unfamiliar with my Glock. I'm thinking the longer sight radius of a 35 slide would help me. We'll see. I don't want to have to pay $100 for new sights (have Mepros on mine), when for probably $250, I can get a whole new slide. We'll see what I can find. Either way, practice makes efficiency, so that's what it's time to do. The cool thing is that if I DID go that route, EVERYTHING I have would be still compatible with the equipment. Holster, mags, belt, everything. Swap the slide, maybe even through on a magwell, and I'm done.
  13. I'm going to have about a week and a half between the first match with the 22 and the second, so I'm going to shoot it as is now, just to see what I want to improve on the trigger. I actually like the factory Glock trigger as is, I just would like to make it a bit lighter of a pull. But, I haven't shot this gun in probably a year so I don't really remember much of it. I've got everything I need except the mag extensions and the trigger job. No one would know where I could pick up some used Dawson +5 plates cheap, do they? On a side note, I was thinking of trying a 3 gun match one day for giggles. I have all the applicable stuff for the AR, can I use this 22 for that as well?
  14. Since you all have been so helpful so far (I ordered the Bladetech DOH Tek-Lok last night), what's the absolutely best trigger I put on it? I've heard mixed reviews about the Ghost, but it's carried locally. Is the factory 4.5lb / 3.5lb connector better? On the topic of the holster, I really appreciate all of your input. I was going to get the Ready Tactical, but what steered me away from it is my random schedule. Right now I can shoot USPSA on Tuesday or Friday, which all my schedules can support. However, if I get a different shift, I may have to shoot IDPA, which even though I don't like as much, at least with the Blade Tech I can take the offset part off and run it as an IDPA gun.
  15. I guess that makes sence. I'm not going to shoot the glock 22 in production, unless you really think that I could download the rounds enough to be competitive. So what's the best fastest holster I can use, that will allow me to shoot production. I need something that I can angle just a bit like a race holster towards the front if it's possible.
  16. Sweet. That's the ticket. All I need now is a good speed holster and I'm set. I already have 5 mags, so it would be nice to grab matching Dawson plates for them but even that's not absolutely necessary...
  17. Thanks for all of your replies. I think the best thing for me to do is leave the G22 as is, and just pick up the items that would be compatible with the G35 as well. I'll probably get a 4.5lb conenctor for the G22 trigger, because I've wanted one anyway, but leave it as is everywhere else. That way, if I get a G35, I can give the G22 as a bed gun for my wife (I have another one anyway, which is why I didn't mind modding it), and all the stuff I have for competing with the G22 will be compatible with the G35. I like the way Glocks fit in my hand, and they work very well for me when I go to point of aim. I think the longer sight radius would help, but I just can't warrant the purchase of the slide or gun until I can determine if I'm even going to be able to shoot a couple times a month. I wanted to originally shoot my duty gun, but the matches have always been the night before I work, and waking up having to clean my gun 4 times in a row has grown old fast.
  18. Ok, so you don't think it's worth it to try and find a cheap Glock 35 upper to put on my 22?
  19. I want to start shooting Limited with my Glock 22. Mainly because I have one, and I think that for my skill level, getting a more expensive gun isn't really going to help me. I've already got a tactical mag + slide release, and I'm going to get the trigger worked. I have full night sights on the gun now (it's my current bedstand gun) and I realize it's going to be better if I swap at LEAST the front site to something better. What I'm asking I guess, since I'm buying all the gear to make this gun a full limited gun, holster, mag pouches, etc, am I doing myself a disservice by not just going with a G35? Maybe trying to find a decent 35 upper to put on my 22 lower? I'd like to build a good enough limited gun with out breaking the bank from the already $500 it's going to cost for a speed holster, 4 mag pouches, and the base plates for the mags. Thanks in advance. I just want to make sure that I have a good set up until I decide to upgrade to a $2000 gun one day.
  20. Newish shooter here from the Tampa Bay area. This looks like a pretty nice gun site angled towards competitive shooting. Looks like a nice place to ask all my questions regarding getting started in shooting limited.
  21. Sure, the idea of the game is concealment. That lends it's self to leather because those of us who have worn both, KNOW leather is more concealable. With that being said, if you want to fight like you train, wear the leather. If you want a cheap holster to play with, and not ruin your custom rig that you have for conceal carry, just grab a cheap kydex one. You can adjust the cant a bit and make it real nice to draw from. IDPA is basically concealed as long as there is a garment over it, so it doesn't have to be hidden like you would want for normal carry, just concealed. Up to you. Shoot cheap, use your carry holster. Grab a set of Blackhawk CQC mag pouches and you're set.
  22. Hi everyone! I live in West Central FL and have shot on and off for a few years. I got a new pistol recently and I need to get more used to it so I started taking it to the local USPSA fun shoots to start our relationship together. So far it hasn't been too bad. I've done a lot better with it than I should have, so hopefully I'll be where I want to be with it in a month or so, and I can get back to some single stack 1911 fun until I can afford to make the jump to limited. I may not post too much, but I'll be lurking around here and there...
