  1. Welcome to the forum. Have you been to ORSA USPSA in Oak Ridge? Excellent club and stages.
  2. I had a similar problem with my 35 when I first got it. It would shoot Winchester Whitep Box with no problems. My reloads would do as you described. Finally found it was a taper crimp issue. When I would run my fingers from the bullet backwards I could feel a sharp edge on the case. I kept playing with the taper until I couldn't feel the sharp edge, just a smooth edge, but not over crimped. Get a box of factory loads and see if you still have the same issue. Good Luck
  3. Hey Jed, welcome to the forum. Hope to meet you sometime at the ORSA USPSA match in Oak Ridge TN.
  4. I've been following this thread and it's been very interesting. I have a question about the tilting head on the G0759. I thought the solid column was the way to go because of stability. Does the tilting head compromise stability?
  5. I live in Knoxville. Let me know when you decide on a price.
  6. I've always kept powder and primers in a closet in the house. My current 38super load is using Winchester primers purchased in 1998, and VV powder from 2001. The loads have excellent SD. I think the fairly consistent temperature and humidity from being inside helps.
  7. Could you send a list of what you want to sell? Thx
  8. The IPSC match is scheduled this coming Saturday. If you get a chance come out and watch. It can be addictive.
  9. Welcome to the forum. Do you shoot at ORSA?
  10. Welcome from Knoxville, what kind of shooting are looking to do?
  11. Howdy from Knoxville! If you shoot USPSA, come over to Oak Ridge, 3rd Saturday every month.
  12. The gun is a Caspian slide and frame. The barrel is a Hybi-Comp with 4 big holes in the barrel. The comp has 3 vertical slots and 1 horizontal slot on each side of the end of the comp. It is a heavy gun ( have not weighed it ) with full mag of 28 and 1. I'm slow out of the holster with it but once on target it is fast. A lot faster than I'll ever be.
  13. A good question. I have 2 open guns. The first is an older gun from the 175 PF days. I ran about 182 to 185 PF back then. The muzzle blast and recoil was nasty but the gun recoiled straight back with very little dot movement. After a match I could feel some soreness in my strong hand. The second is a shorty set up for the lower PF. It shoots very soft but much more dot movement. Most of the movement is most likely due to me not figuring out how to deal with the vertical movement of the barrel (recoil). It is a very fun gun to shoot. Maybe someday I will learn how to shoot it. The first gun and high PF ammo is my favorite. It is so easy on follow up shots and easy to turn the speed up.
  14. One on over to Oak Ridge TN for a great USPSA match. 3rd Saturday every month.
  15. Ditto, short, sweet and to the point.
  16. We shoot from 10 yards and out. Don't know the distance but I've found I can miss just as fast at distance as up close.
  17. Got my Dawson Edge CRP 40 a few months back. I decided to just shoot it with no changes and stock mags. It shot great with zero malfunctions. Put a few hundred rounds through it and a match or two. If you don't have problems, don't mess with it. If you do then you know what to change.
  18. I think most of us have been there. I was a few months back. Not having fun at the matches, gun problems, dumb mistakes all contribute to self doubt. How did I fix it? I pulled out a gun I hadn't shot in a long time. Bought some factory ammo (didn't even want to reload). Then told myself this match it doesn't matter where I finish, how many points I shoot, or how bad I look. I will be safe and above all HAVE FUN! It was the best match I shot in a very long time. Take the pressure off and have fun again.
  19. I have seen the problem with the tensioner on my 014. When I got it, I took it completely apart to do some adjusting. When I put it back together the tensioner did not work. I took it back apart and looked at the parts and how they should fit together. Turns out if the tensioner screw is not aligned correctly it will tighten on the frame of the holster. It will be tight but I the gun is loose. Try taking the screw out. Loosen the screw on the bottom of the holster so the guts can move a little. Look through the screw hole and be sure everything is aligned correctly before putting the tensioner screw back in. Hope this helps.
  20. The Facebook name is ORSAAP I think, Oak Ridge Sportsmen Association. The range is about 15 miles west of Knoxville in Oak Ridge TN. They have USPSA, 3 Gun, Steel Challenge, Cowboy, and Long Range Rifle. It's about 2 - 2.5 hours from Johnson City. Forgot about IDPA. Hope to see you sometime.
  21. Welcome to the forums. Have you shot at Oak Ridge? Go Vols!
  22. Did this locking block thing happen to gen 4's? I thought locking block issues was an M&P thing Yes, I have a Gen 4 35. It never was very accurate and I thought for months it was me. I was not having much fun with it at the matches. Also have a 17L that has been a great gun and a joy to shoot. Have been a Glock fan for 25 years, now I don't know.
