First...why do you feel the need to move away from what you are currently using?
Don't fool yourself into thinking it is "holding you back" unless you are shooting
80+% at a Major match the 1/3 of the match that maybe handgun is not the issue.
If you want a 2011 and can afford it...buy and enjoy.
If you want to place better at 3-gun events... improve your current >skillset< with ammo and dryfire.
Or buy that cool new 2011 toy and smile, guns are fun and new guns even more fun!

Did you ever get that one out to a match for a video? I would love to see it if you did!A quick out of the box with the Vista Short 9x19
Got it done.

Awsome I have one as well love it after I ditched the mount and went with a 90 degree mount. First one I got had a miss cut chamber. Eagle imports replaced it new one runs great. Yours must have a real fast barrel in at 8.4 grains of hs6 with a 124 to make 170 pf great review backs up everything I have said a bought mine
Which mount?
Shame you had to use Eagle Imports customer service...but it is excellent service!

Have you shot the gun? If so does it run?

Great review. For those of us not as familiar with open. How effective does this comp appear to be?
I would watch the slow mo and compare it to the comps in the Open gun thread.

As I said in the video, I haven't shot OPEN since the early 1990's so I really can't tell you.

Mill for sure. It can be done with a file and some have, but I like my hands too much and arthritis sucks as it is.

In my thinking, the biggest variable in the system isn't really the bullet weight, load, or spring. The biggest variable is the shooter.
Timing Drill: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=235707
This drill should give you the feedback you (we) need.

Pat, did you have the dovetail cut in or did you do it yourself??
I do my own work short of refinishing.

XS rear and what ever you like front. Fronts and rears do not hamper "fast shooting" nor get in the way for flying targets.

BTW, the above vendor (who is also a Vet) cant disclose who makes his unbranded barrels, but in the FAQ on break-in procedure, he links to Black Hole Weaponry's advice. Hmmm....
Black Hole Barrels are my first choice.

Why???
USPSA PCC Rules.
6
Must have stock attached and must be fired from shoulder position. **Note: Sig Brace and any variant thereof is not allowed—must be attached to the carbine and fired from the shoulder**
This has already been changed (fixed) in the latest proposed PCC appendix from April 12: http://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-board-mtg-minutes.php
The link in the rules page (http://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-rules.php) still has the old version from March.
Aha...... this settles the point in my earlier post. Thanks for digging this up, I don't go digging into meeting minutes for this kind of info. Guess they need to update the website.
Thanks for clearing it up.
And here is the latest info as linked above.
Now, ya can shoot off your shoulder.
