I also prefer load 2 and I still do an old fashioned caddy load when the situation calls for it. I'll take a good ole reliable 5sec reload all day, every day.
That makes me feel better!

So far this Lone Wolf G9 is running fine!
Patrick any special setup in the stock/buffer tube ?
Nope, 223 rifle length gear. Or Carbine if that is your stock choice.

Hi Everyone,
I was curious as to what you guys think. I have been loading two for about a year and a half and can consistently load 8 in a match in the 4.8-5 second range with no fumble factor. Now I have been messing with quad loading for about a month, practicing daily, trying different shell holders and the best I can hope is 4 seconds for 8 but about 2 loads out of 10 there is a fumble/dropped shell. Do you think a consistent load two that you can hit on demand with no fumble is much worse than a quad load you occasionally fumble. I know I will probably get better, but I'm really not lovin the quad load :-)
Within 3-Gun and other than a stage designed to test reloading ability (empty gun start) I feel loading two at your speed will not harm your overall match performance.
I say that because it (as far as my research shows) it has not harmed mine (I too load two)

How far were the targets and what size?Tried the approach method today in a local league.... Need much more practice!
Targets were two 2.5" round orange stickers placed vertically about 2' apart on a paper target holder at 20 yards.
Was using a RRA R3 rifle with TA31F-G ACOG and suspect the 4X magnification was hurting more than helping my brain compensate for movement at that close distance.
Used to shooting steel plates at 25-150 yards (way easier) and thinking of dropping to a 1X red dot for this situation.
If my math is close those are approx 10MOA targets...easy enough to hold with need of approach shooting.
You are right about scope magnification being a brain drain distraction.

Once again, thanks for sharing that Pat, very useful information
Great tip for sure!
You are most welcome! I have been at the shooting games a long time and hope to pass along what I have gathered.

It is all I have used at matches for two years. Won several majors with it too.

So.... what is the problem with the stepped brass specifically? I don't filter it out of my range brass and have never had a problem with it shooting 147gr minor.
The step is a potential "stress riser" (stress concentration area) It is generally not an issue till the ammo is reloaded and even
then several times, but as some here have reported failures have happened with new brass.
As of a several weeks ago the stepped brass is no longer used. Yes. some new ammo on the shelf will have it until that stock
is exhausted.

It is once you know how.

Great video and instruction. What power did you use to engage those targets?
5x Burris XTRII 1x5

No optic , but I do make a "capacitor charging noise" as I fake switching on a high intensity
Aiming device.

For steel challenge I run the same gun in both open and limited. A TTI G17L

I use ELS on my holster. A QLS might be "better" but I havent had any problems.
It is all I have used since I went to the ELS system 5 years ago. Like you, I have had no issues.

A bronze brush will pull / push them out.

The one in the video is a new model with the "two dimples" on the underside of the barrel (indicates it is the new twist barrel)

They are telling me I should have a unit in hand by the end of June.

FYI the stepped brass is no longer used.

One of the best threads on Enos! With the best responses!
We all want more, better, faster gear...the answer nearly always is. more training. (more ammo more practice)

I only "grip it to rip it" on those close and hose-em stages.
