  1. Why???

    USPSA PCC Rules.

    6

Must have stock attached and must be fired from shoulder position. **Note: Sig Brace and any variant thereof is not allowed—must be attached to the carbine and fired from the shoulder**

It was due to the ATF rulings on the SIG brace.

That doesn't explain it. IF YOU HAVE a real deal shoulder stock you must use it in PCC but NOT in multigun.

  2. USPSA Multigun Rules.

So why can I shoot a 308 without using my shoulder and can't with my puny 9mm >when< shooting PCC

I CAN shoot off the shoulder with the PCC if I am not shooting in PCC division.

    Weird?

    1. 5.1.2.1 Handguns with shoulder stocks and/or fore grips of any kind are prohibited. Rifles and Shotguns must be fitted with a stock, enabling it to be fired from the shoulder.

  3. The learning curve is steep for pistol shooters with no long-gun experience. We are seeing a lot of very experienced handgunners crawling clumsily through stages with their PCC that they would burn down with their pistol. I am sure this will just be temporary... once they get the hang of it, they should see a marked improvement.

    I agree.

  4. Skip about half way in to see some shooting rather than a old guy talking.

    Pistol vs PCC

The spits on the one pair of plates at 15 yards, I don't think can be done as easily as it can be with the PCC

The splits on the US popper yea.

The rat a tat on the 35 yards B C Zome MGM Steel? You tell me if you could with your comp gun.

  5. Gosh I wish this could be put for friggen bed!

IT is a handgun... line the sights up with whatever eye you want to use and shoot!

I am a Master Bullseye shooter, USPSA shooter, Bowling pin shooter and Handgun Silhouette shooter.

I am also Left Handed and Right eyed! No need for any special tapes or blocking devices. No need to "Fix" anything.

Cross dominance is of no difficulty to the hand gunner! NONE.

  6. With all due respect this "jousting thing" has gotten out of control.

My only point (and one others have made) is that the oversize bolt carrier release is not really an issue.

100's if not 1000's of them are out and in use with nary a problem.

I have and use the "slick and smartly simple" RNT release tab. In fact is was the very first release enhancement I ever used!

I have apologized via PM to Tim and now I will do the same to this assemblage.

I am sorry for having taken this thread into an area that has made two very nice guys upset.

My intent (poorly executed) was, as I said above, was to only illustrate that the issue Tim was having was not an issue that is new, but one that is rare.

I got the feeling that my apology to Tim via PM was not accepted, as this transgression was over the top, but I sincerely hope that my long time amigo

    Kurt will.

    Sincerely

    Patrick.

  7. I ended getting a bcm 16 recce upper and a stripped lower to start building on. I have a bcm already and it has never let me down. Any recommendations on a scope under 500.

Get a 1x and shoot Limited with the cool cats.

  8. I ride the reset for shots on long distance rifle targets the same goes for difficult pistol targets.

Slow splits or trigger freeze are not things I have an issue with.

    Without too much self aggrandizing...

I am a NRA Conventional pistol Master (and 2600 club member)

USPSA Limited and Open Master (Self Demoted from GM) and top 20 in 1998

    Master High Power Rifleman.

And ride the reset in all the above.

NOW...at top speed I am NOT finding the reset point, but my trigger finger IS accustomed to finding it so

finger movement is reduced and my splits are quick.

This is what I do and have done with success for several decades.

It is what I have shared with others and some have employed it with success as well.

As always. your mileage may vary.

  9. I get asked this question a lot. what gun for the new guy and should I build my first AR (first ever AR)

What gun? Has been well answered. Armalite, Barnes Precision, Double Star come to mind.

To build your very first AR? I would purchase a running gun and then learn from it and then build or alter what I had

    based on the experience gained.

  10. Shot Sportsmans Team Challenge for the first time this weekend. Im not sure if this is the correct technique for that style of shooting, but trying to utilise it seemed to help. Thanks for posting this.

I would say it is, or that is how I would "approach it" (puns are fun) the smaller the target and the longer the distance under time constraints kinda forces your hand.

Now I will say that for that course of fire one would need to have their approach distance as small as they can manage.
