  1. I support companies that support us. Old Navy isnt one of them. They are actually in the mall. Means you had to go there probably. I didnt to order TruSpec shorts. They are better made. Have the nice stretch fit and the belt loops are spaced to facilitate holsters and mag carriers. PLUS they look good. I wear them (not to the mall) both shorts and pants and they look a hell of a lot better than cheap knock offs from a mall place. They dont look like they are ready for the good will pile after being washed 2-3 times like the cheap crap. Gotta add how nice it is to see an avitar of Sean "spicoli" Penn, an avid socialist and anti-gun guy. Nice. *Yawn* Isn't trolling against forum rules? Buzz kill Care to expand the thought.
  2. This. I have seen a few of these but thats the way the cookie crumbles. Hit it good, knock it down, and if it doesnt take your lumps. It seems to me it happens more with guys using shorter barrels with little or no choke. I have always seen stage descriptions that specify "steel must fall". Whining isnt pretty. We have had as much of an issue with pistols too. Its a range equipment malfunction really. Pat Pistols/Shotguns Apples/Oranges Not sure how many times we shoot the same stage with each gun. Just take out the paper targets. Either way its a range equipment error and under USPSA rules it would be a re shoot. I understand thats a pain so I modified it the way I described with the RO calling it a hit and having the shooter move on. If the target can't be engaged and should have fell its a prop problem not a shooter one. Thats just my take on it. I like giving the benefit to the shooter. Not really into screwing them with what I consider an unfair penalty. Pat Personaly I dont like uspsa rules for 3 gun. But that is a different discussion. I dont really care if the ruling is if its turned its a hit. So long as I know going into the match and the rule is consistant. If you dont just say steel must fall then you possible get into a situatuion of "well, the steel is turned and I thought it was good" when the steel isnt a full 90 degrees but maybe 80 degrees. Then you get into a position where someone has to decide if its spun far enough or not. Then comes arbitration. Thats why I like to see it fall or not. Pretty clear cut and no room for argument. But if I show up at a match and I know what the rule is to start I just deal with it. I cant say its ever happened to me. Not picking on you Kent but a sideways plate will happen to you at some point even if you have taken the time to properly choke your gun, center the target but the plate turned sideways because the stand was not designed properly. You pay a big entry fee, pay to get there, pay for a motel, pay to eat, then are taken out of the match competitively because plates you have centered up do not fall when hit because the stands were not designed properly. It bothers me because it is easy to fix this problem. I don't get it that everyone seems to except this when there is a lot at stake. Most places I shoot it is a 10 sec penalty to leave a plate standing. One or two of them and you are out of it!! Shooting at the stand does not always work and why should you have to do that anyway? That is not fair to any shooter who has paid thrir dues to enter this match I dont take it as picking. I have been shooting this for a number of years locally and before it was technicly a sport and also shooting plates like that with pistol. What constitutes a "properly designed" piece of knock down steel? OH GOD here comes another new rule 99.99.99.1 revision 14b I know that just a few months ago at our club we got some more brand new MGM knock downs and I see no real difference in the base. Some are bigger in the past and Im really not going to labor the point anymore. Ask most shooters and they will say it sucks to be you if you turn one sideways. Its further proof for me why USPSA rules are overly compicated (see rule 87.987.23r.t13 explaining why rules need more rules) which is where this seems to be heading. Steel falls or not. End of discussion. I have shot a few thousand of these targets in either in practice or match and some are made by the club or bought . I have seen them move and not fall. Shoot again and down it goes. I have never had one true 90 and unable to make fall for me. I have seen it with other shooters but like I said its usually by guys unprepared with too short a barrel/not enough choke. Its like the same guy who cant knock the plates off the star. Do you guys propose under a new rule if you hit the plate on a star but it doesnt fall its OK?

  7. There has got to be a porn movie joke here somewhere.
  8. I sent my Akdal to Firebird and while waiting ordered Briley Chokes LM/IM. Firebird sent it with another aftermarket IM in it. Plus Akdal includes 3 OEM chokes as well if I remember. For the most part I just use the IM but have changed in a match once or twice. I was a S12 with Polychoke guy as well. Depends on how far you shoot steel. I would have problems with steel at my local matches with no choke at all I think. Do your own testing at normal distances for steel etc.
  9. Sorry bout the straight pay, that does bite. Im lucky that I get double time on Sunday. Double time=$=gun money. At least you get to look at cute trim!
  10. Well Im going to make someones season maybe. I had to pull out of this. Had to spend 4 days in the hospital and close to two weeks off work. I will be back to 100% but not for a couple more weeks maybe. Between the lost vacation days, lost pay and incoming bills reality bites. I had hotel reservations since last November for this and it was my personal white whale. I am already plotting for next year but that doesnt make it any easier. Just have to finish the year with local stuff and pistol matches. Next season I will add at least one more major to make up. I have to unsubscribe to this thread to not remind me what Im about ready to miss. Piss. Have a good match.
  11. I may yet and think M&P s are nice but I'm a XD fan.
  12. Any ideas when these will be available? I really want to see the 9mm for a pocket pistol to replace my KelTec's.
  13. I replaced the slideride with a RTS. Much better. Its a 9 but you get the idea. Im very happy with it. CR Speed holster was $200 but there may be other holsters. Plus the Pistolgear extensions make it 28+1
  14. Im hoping I can still go. I had to spend almost a week in the hospital last week and off almost all of this week. Anyway between the lost time and wages I also may be screwed on losing my vacation days. Plus the hospital bills have yet to be seen. Im going to hold off as long as I can but I may have to withdraw and thats really got me bummed at the moment.
  15. Plus I have a bit of Guatamalan surplus left but it doesn't group well. I am something of an ammo whore when it comes to 223. I don't like having less than 3-4K on hand if not more. I use different color P-mags to make it easy to tell what I'm shooting. Black for 55 gr and green for the good stuff, preload mags before match and usually don't need to reload them depending on round count. Kent, I also have some Guatemalan Surplus but I am finding it keyholes through my barrel. Any problems with yours??? Thanks, Racine No keyhole for me in either of the 2 rifles I use. Its all reliable and shoots pretty good but I suspect it has been stored poorly before it was surped. 2-3 moa or more is the best it does for me though. Good enough for close stuff and just plinking. I actually bought about 7 or 8 crates of it if not more back when Aim Surplus had it. Im down to the end of it almost and have also gotten other stuff. Still love the IMI when its available.
  16. What is you guys lube of choice? I am using break free and when I reassemble I also use some white moly-lube in the rail and bolt. Add drops of break free before a match. I'm going 300+ I think between cleanings and will do it again a couple weeks befor RockCastle.

I take it your an Owensboro shooter somewhat? Im from E'ville bout a million years ago. Family of sharks eh? Good luck and do them as dirty as they would do you. Worse if you can. Nothing is worse than family that screws you over. I have friends Id die for and family I would not piss on if they were on fire. And yet my dogs are still top of the list.
  18. Didnt watch vid but I agree. The one with no class is the OP for not trying to handle it under the radar.

Im no lawyer but it seems I hear tell it takes months longer to actually physicly evict someone who resists. Not that its what you want to do but dont let them bluff you out before you find a new place. As long as your paid up I think the onus is on them. Call a lawyer. "Family" is not a word that applies in a situation like that, lesson I learned sadly but not as bad as you seem to be in. Dogs are your best friends and mine.
  20. My 2 Gen 2 mags run walmart bulk pack perfectly and runs slugs just fine. I got my other 2 Gen 2 mags this week, along with the shell stop and coupling hardware. Been in the hospital for a few days with a rotten gall bladder so I dont see me shooting a shotgun for another week or so. Hope to do a function check as soon as I get back up to speed and verify they new ones with the upgraded springs will also run the pheasant loads for heavy steel.
  21. After looking more at this and actually wondering the same thing about the transition I did a polish job on that transition area. I didnt actually remove any metal to blend it to fit the barrel ramp, yet, but it seems to have helped. Also I got and loaded the sample pack of Precision Delta 147's. The profile seems much better than the MG bullets. They ran pretty well but only got about 100 thru the gun and I needed more anyway so I have 2K of them on the bench unopened and hope to load a few hundred at least this coming week. I had to take off a week due to being sick but I think the polish and better bullet profile will solve this. I may blend the locking block feed ramp transition area to match the barrel feed ramp but I wondered why Springfield did not do a better job of matching the ramp area when they machined the locking block. It looks like there is at least .010" and more of gap betweeen the two that serve no purpose and would help feeding from what I can see.
