  1. I'm thinking you really need to read a reloading manual. Set your seating so that it seats the rounds at 1.165 after you Liam say 300 rounds remove your bbl and chamber check them
  2. In the bbl. Best chamber gauge made is the one you will be firing the round in. Drop the finished round in the chamber give a light tap with your finger if the round s falls out with no resistance and is in the chamber all the way when you turn the barrel over its good Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
  3. Pretty good indication previous owner may have had that issue. Try giving the sear leg a bit more bend forward. If that doesn't help. It's probably time for a new spring. Dawson makes a great spring. But you will need a trigger pull gauge to set the spring weigh. Assuming the sear and hammer are in good shape
  4. Make sure the sear leaf is not slipping off the sear. Colt see Springs are famous for that. I have heard of people wrapping the bottom of the sear spring with masking tape to keep it in place
  5. But it's not that far off I get 175 with 1.65 you are getting 180 with 8 grains at 1.150 Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
  6. Something isn't right. You need to double check your charge and chronograph Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
  7. Been out for a while with personal issues and an injury just got started again.
  8. I am considering using this frame.I have a .38 super that shares time with my 9mm frame and want to build a dedicated frame for it. I wonder about the durability over time. Not that they are not durable just that I am ignorant about these. From what I have seen, they seem to be much more cost effective
  9. Dave just curious why that would cause hammer follow. Mine would intermitanly follow and during a recent cleaning I found the screw and bushing missing. I just figured it was due to my over travel screw backing out. Cause it was also in need of adjustment
  10. HS-6 Lot 2219 I use 9.3 grains with a 124. This is a very slow lot. Probably what happened the previous owner had that lot or told you to use a 115. New lot back to old burn rate. this is why i ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS drop my charge and chrony when i open a new jug of powder. My chrony results where crazy with lot 2219... 8.4 grains = 155 pf or something. HOWEVER i wish hogdon would make this mistake again... call it hs6.5 I usually use 8.6 grains hs6 at 1.165 with a 124 jhp for 173-5 pf i suggest reading this thread http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=147730&hl=+mat%20+price
  11. I just ordered some bayou bullets to run in my open guns really excited to try them
  12. I have a 9 major and super comp gun. I go through phases where I like each one for different reasons. With that said oddly enough it's my super that's finicky. The 9runs like a sewing machine
  13. As far as I'm concerned they can keep it this way. I love the feel just was major confusion. Stone that was about my charge with the 115 in my old data Sent from my AT100 using Tapatalk 2
  14. I will have to look it's about a year old. However 9.2 grains got me to 171 and 9.4 got me to 178 Very minor primer flattering at 9.4 grains and 180pf Will look tomorrow for the lot number
  15. Sti trubor 3 popel holes I'm getting 163pf with a 124 pdelta jhp 9.0 hs6 1.165 Wolf srp 8.6 used to get me at 170 Charge double checked Chrony double checked So I'm guessing about 70k rounds or a slow jug of hs6 to be the culprit I get no pressure sign at this charge so I'm trying 9.2 and 9.4
  16. yep cost of business with open guns. I had around 50K rounds through my STI slide before it cut loose
  17. Brandon after you shoot it for a month and get tired of it let me know I'm in the market for a new Gans gun
  18. Cool man I am still shooting that same load I live it. But I switched to 4756 in my super much much better load out of my super.
  19. Lol don't never go watch dem make sausage brotha!
  20. I forgot to post finished pics!! here ya go erics fuzzy green grips!
  21. ok so here is the full report. I was very happy with how the comp performed. The lock/unlock sequence is vastly faster. The cycle rate improved and the gun shot much softer from the angle I cut the bleeder holes, they seem to pull the gun forward and down. The slide still needs to cycle faster but there is nothing i can do about that with out just lightening the slide. HOWEVER i do have a drill press at work... so I am thinking about punching some holes in the side with a cutter bit, then i can use my unibit to to cut angles or what i want to do to decorate it. here is a video with two clips, the first is a 124 JHP with imr 4756 @ 171 pf. ( this is my new load its very very soft and extremly flat the dot lifts to the top 1/3 of the glass and rcovers super fast to dead center. The second clip is a 115 with hs-6 @ 175 pf it is also flat but not as soft as the 4756. so i got polishing everything tonight. this pic is cool i got is close enough to flat that i can stand it on a planed granite surface with no wobble or gap
  22. Thanks guys. I have video to post in a bit as soon as I get finished polishing Biloxis mag bodies. I will give a full report. Short I am very very pleased.
