  1. ok I loaded up some hs-6 last night tore out with my chorny and got this out of my stock trubore t-1 comp no holes 8.1 grains hs-6 124 montana gold JHP 1.165 oal 2 strings of 5 string 1 avg 1222 Hi 1234 low 1210 es 24 PF 151.6 string 2 avg 1228 hi1253 low 1200 es 53 pf 152 OK I was sure i would see at least around lo 160's out of this load. What gives So before I go off the deep end and go to checking my chrony I ran some auto comp and and 7625 through it as well 6.9 autocomp 124 JHP MG 1.165 oal 1339 avg 1351 HI 1332 low 19 ES PF 166.1 7.0 auto comp two strings 1361 avg 1381 hi 1355 low 168 PF string 2 1357 avg 1365 hi 1348 low 168 PF Which is about were I expected given the data on here 7.2 grain of 7625 gives me 173 pf with the same bullet and OAL any ideas ?
  2. I was thinking of calling bobby. Maury has my other trubor at his shop right now doing a slide to frame fit on the 9mm gun with the t2 comp. I am going to wait and see how that one shoots first before i drill this one. I think i am going to get what i want out of the t2 comp and i will just use this one for steel and as a back up. BTW dude you need to come over on friday night for the plate match. its only about an hour drive for ya.
  3. is there shop over at bulls eye in Lawrenceville ? I am coming for the state match in sept i may drop it off to them after. I used to live in dacula for about 10 years
  4. I have a t1 comp on my STI trubor I want to get I am thinking 3 popples drilled in the bbl and slide. Who do you guys suggest to do this?
  5. thanks foxbat I am very happy with it. Is there a blast shield I can put on it. I have searched and not found anything Cameron mount specific. I am going to have a couple poples drilled in the very near future.I guess the kidd or brazos shield is my options. they seem to work well from what have read
  6. get a flat wolf primer and things are getting ready to cut loose..
  7. I dont load minnor but i do load 7.1 grains @ 1.165 in my trubor gives me around 145-150 pf I use that load to shoot falling plate matches. its accurate but filthy!
  8. Good runs. I host a plate match every Friday night at my indoor range. Will post some video soon. My best from the ready and still range record is 2.16 We shoot 5 8 inch plates man on at ten yards from the surrender position. Using a pact timer and laser timing system. The best I have done out the holster was a 2.59 and lost the run to a guy shooting 2.27. We have some amazing shooters down here in south ms. Max jr run the plates here in 1.77 Mat
  9. your pin spring was broken ? What you could have been seeing is called trigger bounce. Carefull with polshing up the disconector. The main thing is when setting up your leaf spring you set it first with only the disconnector in the frame using a trigger pull gauge and then set the sear leg with the sear and disconector in. MAKE SURE YOUR GRIP SCREWS ARE TIGHT. loose grip screws cause all kinds of weird things to happen.
  10. I dont have my gun in front of me and I need a quick answer for a customer and for the life of me i can not remember which way is up on a 90 degree mount. Is it windage clockwise = up? thanks guys lol Mat
  11. I ahve been running 7.1 grains of 7625 behind a 124 grn JPH precsion delta nd Montana gold and getting 1408 with just tinest bit every now and then of primer flatness to one side using wolf primers and an oal 1.165. I do want to try to make major with Hs-6 though. My falling plate load is 7.1 grains of hs-6 behind a 124 JHP @ 1.165 makes about 145 PF and still runs the comp pretty good. I am thinking about starting a load of Hs-6 around 7.8 grains and taking it up from there.
  12. Awesome I will be there. I used to live in buford and can use this as an excuse to visit!
  13. I am running an off the shelf trubor and love it! it serves me very at this level.
  14. I run 124 Jhp PD out of my trubor and they are great.. I have found the 124 rn and 180 40 s&w rn to be pretty inconsistent in projectile length as of late though. the 124 jhp are 100% though love them.
  15. I make 169 pf with 7 grn imr 7625 @ 1.165 out of and old as dirt 9mm Sti competitor. It is a compressed load. It is not as flat as hs-6 out of this gun but its not bad for muzzle flip and felt recoil. most everyone I know running .38 super out of a trubor is running around 7.5 grains. Start @ 7 grains edited for wrong .38 super oal I had 9mm OAL on the brain.
  16. well I do like the feel of the 7625. I would not describe it as violent either out of this gun. but it is just plain not near flat at what ever load he has in it. near 3 inches difference between 5 and 15 yards with the gun zeroed @ ten.
  17. I was amazed to make major at 7.7 grs out of my glock 34 every one said 8 + grains so i started @ 7.5 was there on my second test run. I bet this trubor dont make it @ 7.7 grains... lots and lots and lots o rounds through the bbl. now here is one thing though pro it could be that both ron and I are using powder that almost 6 years old. I dont know if he is but i know my powder is at least 6 years old. The guy I get my powder from gave it to me cause the jug was under a foot of Katrina sludge. powder is fine jug is trash. could be those old lots were hotter or something.
  18. Jack, I load 9mm Major out of my glock open guns to 1.150. I am not sure why he loads his so short. But like I said ita loaner. So I didnt want to do something with someones gun they didnt want done. When mine is done i will be loading longer. I think i am going to make up some dummies @ 1.155 and see how they run. thanks yall Edit Well I just found out my buddy must smoke crack... all the rounds he gave me to "try" through his gun are 1.170... teach me to take his word and not use my own dial calipers. So i am pretty comfortable starting @ 7 grains there.
  19. hey guys I just got a loaner trubor from a buddy while my gun being built. He says his gun runs best with an OAL of 1.125. The load he chooses to run is around 7.1 grains of IMR 7625 @ 1.125 with a 124 PDelta RN. This makes about 169 Pf But to me it doesnt shoot very flat at all. I have an 8 lb can of Hs-6 sitting here That i used to run in my open glock 34. My load for the open glock was 7.7 grains of Hs-6 @ 1.135 oal with a 124 JHP Pdelta. My question given the shorter oal for this gun what do you guys think a good starting load would be? I am kind of thinking around 7.0 grains of hs-6 @ 1.125 with 124 JHP
  20. anyone tried berrys 124hp out of a comp gun running minor loads? I know they can't handle being pumped up to 9 major. I would be loading using hs-6
  21. yes I am inspecting for splits in the case and rings around the case web. before they go in the press. I need to do a better job post press. set back I bet that was what happened. case mouth split and pushed the projectile way back when the gun went to battery and over pressured things. again lesson learned.
  22. yeah I am thinking it had a split in it. I went through and double checked every round in my bag and found two more. Guess i need to start inspecting better. I always inspect to the sizing die. these had to have split after the seating or crimping. *let that be a lesson to me!* I think it stressed and stretched my link a bit cause i am getting a bit of barrel lock up issues since. hopefully thats what it is and 20 dollar link and pin fixes it.
  23. Had a case fully separate today. using 4.7 grains of tite group a 180 pd FMJ @ 1.135. did not feel like an over pressure round had normal recoil didn't even blow the mag out of the gun. Question is could a split case mouth cause this?. it is 169 PF through 2 different chronys. It did however run the slide hard enough backwards to bugger up my link a bit and the slide is sticking and slightly out of time. The portion of the case that is left is still in the bbl. Going to have my gun smith remove it tomorrow.
