  1. I am using federal 100's in my open 34 with hs-6 I am loading 7.2 Grains with a 124 dp jhp @ 1.150 thats my steel and falling plate load. start @ 7.2 and work up to major. YOU MUST HAVE A CHRONY and look for signs of pressure.
  2. yes you can. 17,22,34,35,17L and 24 all are small frame glocks and are interchangeable. the only differance being the ejector angle.
  3. OK fellas! i finished my open 34 build today. glock 24 frame stippled by yours truly 34 lone wolf slide lone wolf bbl carver 3 port comp zev tugnston guiderod zev fulcrum trigger (with some mat price tuning ) wolf striker spring ismi 11lb recoil spring c-more slide ride 7.0 grains of hs-6 loaded to 1.150 behind @ pd 124 FMj or JHP is a SWEEEEET plate/steel load I have not pushed it yet to major prolly never will maybe just to play once or so. I am SUPER happy with the carver mount and comp.
  4. I shoot an open 34 with 7 grains of hs-6 the gun barely moves in my hand.. ?!?!? not sure what you got going on man
  5. I have access to a Bridgeport what i dont have access to is the G code LOL. tell me some more about freedom works I want it lighten up but i want it to look kinda slick also.
  6. Anyone ever used a drill press to lighten the slide on the 24? I am thinking about 3 holes on each side.
  7. I just copied and pasted the ad... thanks sky diver how is the reliability factor with limited with those extras?
  8. Guys i am new to eaa my bud has an elite match in .40 that I like I came across this gun on the uspsa web site ad and would like to know if the asking price is fair I shoot a glock 24 now and have an itch for a new gun. this is the ad Tanfoglio limited in .40 w/ slide cuts,(4) henning 140mm magazines,(3) CR Speed mag. pouches,Double Alpha inner/outer belt (size 40) I will take $40 off if you don't need/want the belt, bladetech RH DOH,EGW sear, henning XL firing pin, henning competition magwell, henning titefit slide pin, henning I-fiber front sight, henning H151C black checkered grips, henning 10.75lb recoil spring,(2) spare extractors,(2) spare 13lb hammer springs, spare rear sight parts, tanfoglio factory case w/ cleaning rod and manual, also will include stock parts: (safety plunger, firing pin, sear, slide stop),where legal 1300.00 it may even be someones gun on this forum. Mat
  9. ok I just had a similar exp. with my 24. using a reduced striker spring and Winchester primers in 20 degree weather is a no go! until the gun warmed up i had 50% failure dropped in the stock striker and spring and no issues. I have found with my 34 if I am @ 130-135 PF it wont run the the stock spring. I drop to a 15 lb spring and it runs 100%. HOWEVER my 34 is a 24 frame and lone wolf slide and barrel so the slide is just spec lighter. I have found i get a small amount of a lockup issue with anything less even using the reduced striker spring. What you may need to do is try a 13 lb spring and a 15 lb spring. If the 13 is not enough and you have positive lockup issues you can try the 15 and trim coil till it runs 100%.
  10. Well I figured out my issue... a misaligned shell plate at the expander stage was jacking with my cases.
  11. this was not during a match... this was just indoor range target shooting... when the round would not chamber she proceeded to bang against the slide to "send it home like i was taught"... and no the whole mag was not loaded that way...
  12. We had another fellow Squib an S&w 500 last week. He was double plugged ( muffs and plugs) and didn't hear the primer pop. I lucky caught him before he droped the next one down the tube. THAT would have been wicked bad... I kept the slug I removed from the barrel which was about 2 inches down a 6 inch pipe. It was a JHP and a bear to get out with a squib rod and dead blow. I have not " knock on wood" had the pleasure yet... Hope I never do!
  13. I am still leaning more toward a cracked case. just because how it blew out on side... ALTHOUGH there was some melting of the case which in its self isnt proof postive but is a telling clue of a double ... I just think there would have been more damage to the gun with a full double. I dont think it was set back this guy is not new to relaods by any means upwards of 100K rounds... and loaded on a dillon 1050
  14. Sorry this was absolutely a reload and most likely had a cracked or weakened case web. It has nothing to do with the gun being a glock... it just happened to be in a glock when it boom... however I will say that glocks do tend have less case web support in that model... the 36 it seems. there is no real way to tell what the tru story is other. I could have been weak case + some set back + slightly out of battery firing + less case support.. I dont think ti was a double... that would have been more damage I would think... I am not bashing glocks at all they are what I shoot EXCLUSIVELY... I shoot a limited 24 and production 34... I am a glock guy.
  15. yeah he was fine a little cut where the mag button got him...
  16. Had a fella kaboom a glock today at my indoor range. now beware of weak case webs and glock 21/36 models this one went KABOOM today case web failure glock did pretty well only blew out the mag and killed the floor plate then killed the mag release.
  17. Ok yall.. just having me a little vent session. Today being the R/O and resident glock-smith at our local indoor range. I was presented with a malfunctioning Beretta 92-F. now I am not sure how this kind lady got the round wedged in here this way but I was able to remove the projectile and the case did not budge. So with the projectile removed and powder dumped. filled the bbl with oil hoping to kill the primer which it did not.. and I grab the trusty ole squib rod and and brass hammer after a few taps we were clear... as for the kind lady who who jammed a 9mm round in backwards I asked if she needed help getting going... her response " NO! I took a class and am former military" what a day
  18. well the issue is the bbl after all. run the glock bbl with all the mods back in place and runs like a scladed dawg! SOOOOO this bbl is on its way back to lone wolf for some chamber modification. what is happening is the chaber is just spec to short and holding open just enough to only cause light strikes on super hard primers. so I am going to send my realods to them and let them fit the bbl to them. I shoot 180 grn LRN and that should cover me. lol duane not that wasn't the primary purpose of the bbl. it the primary purpose was to shoot lead. I shoot GAT bullets really good bullets. Mat
  19. ok sports fans! of course my stuff can't be simple. trouble shooting cont. put the stock guide rod and spring back in it leaving nothing but a ghost rocket connector still getting light strikes on wolf primers and off center strikes on winchester and federal. so ah!HA! the rocket is bent a lil to far out lets eliminate the trigger group... drop in a complete trigger group from a range rental... no go so i am dumb founded right? i keep plugging... Then I say to myself "SELF" what happens if you eliminate the whole bottom end. Ok so I grab a frame small frame 40 go out and low and behold! all bangs no clicks using a range rental frame, trigger group, my 24 slide and lonewolf bbl and stock striker spring and striker. but they are still a bit off center... hmmm so I take the trigger group out of that frame and put it in my 24 frame thinking surely it will go bang since this trigger group just set off everything in this frame... well that would be a BIG NEGATIVE ghost rider. stumped again... ok so at this point what can it hurt... I put my custom trigger group in the range rental frame... and it never even thought about going click every pull was a bang. this is on wolf primers keep in mind... WTF!!!!!!!!!! I have one test to perform before I send this BBL back to lone wolf... If it goes bang in my stock glock bbl I think we have found the culprit. I think something may be out of wack where the bbl joins the locking block. I will try this when i go in tonight. PS range rental banged away at everything i fed it to rule out high primers/load issue. this thing is giving me light strikes and off center two and 3 at a time.
  20. thanks duane. This is a brand new lone wolf bbl. So I think i can rule that out. But will check just to be sure.
  21. lol Jman real long shift... since i working with a glock 24! I did that though am back bone stock now with the exception of the rocket. I will give it a try tomorrow with the factory recoil and factory striker springs ect.. if it doesn't fix the issue I am not sure were to turn next. Mat
  22. ok last week at a match I got bit bad by light strikes. the set up then was 13lb ismi recoil spring 4 lb wold striker spring ghost rocket connector winchester primers. It was freezing got light strikes on the first stage by the hand full. ok after i blew that stage I dropped the the whole striker out of the 24 tossed in a bone stock brand new striker assembly out of my glock 22 in went the rest of the match on winchester primers with zero issues. so fast forward a week later.. at the range i grab a hand full of of 40's from my buddy with wolf primers just to see if the stock set up on the striker would pop them off... 50% failed. I look at the FTF and they are severe off center strikes. ok weird. so then i look at my winchester primed loads they also are off center but i guess still soft enough to go bang... first thought ok something is wrong with the striker. Tkae his whole striker out of his stock glock 22 which was setting off the wolf primers 100% put it in mine no bang 50% FTF so that rules out a striker issue. channel is clean ect.. So my next step is to remove my 13 lb ISMI recoil spring and and put the stock spring back in and see if that cures the issue? It does not fail lock up test. but I am thinking maybe the stock spring and stiker is to much for the 13 spring? sound solid ?
  23. posted this on another topic but thought i would post it here as well.... OK guys let me shed some light on this. I spend allot of time in an indoor range over 40 hours a week. lots of that time is dedicated to sweeping. when not at the indoor range I am in my reload room working. I was dumb and even knew better ( I went to nursing school and spent most of time as a Truama R.N.) but I did take any precautions such as use a resp. or nitrile gloves ect... in a 4 month period I noticed that my stomach hurt allot, I had frequent head aches and then a few weeks ago I had barely any short term memory. I have always shot allot of rifle but never shot much indoors or spent anytime @ an indoor range. my latest lead level is 68 mics/Dl... because I am not having life threatening symptoms right now chelation therapy is not advised by the doc. I have had to remove myself from 100% of lead hazards I normally come in contact with. guys this happened over a 4 month period. THE GOOD NEWS blood levels are ONLY an indicator of a recent exposure and not total body burden. To find total body burden requires a special Xray called x ray florescence. That is the only way to to determine whether your exposure is chronic or acute. Mine is an accute case of high constant levels of exposure without taking any precautions. I am lucky once my blood level returns to normal I will have no lasting effects. GET YOUR LEVELS CHECKED it isn't the amount time exposed it is the rate at which the exposure occurs. We have an indoor steel match once a week where 40 + shooters come out I generally RO/call the match with all my other indoor duties as well as my own practice time. I will from now on take every precaution known to man. Mat
