  1. Thanks guys! With all the information from this thread and all the other threads I have read on the subject. I decided the quinn II is the mount for me. I have shot both types of mounts, the upright on my open glock 34 and cheely on a para 9mm I built for a coworker at the indoor range/ retail store we work for. The things that I like the most about quinn is the smaller variance in zero impact distances. With my upright mount on my glock zeroed @ 15 yards I was way off at varying distances. I think it will be an easier transition moving from my limited apeiro iron sights to the quinn dot. Most of all!!!! a higher degree of reliability. I will ALWAYS take function over bling ANY day. Mat
  2. thanks this gun will be an IPSC and Steele gun ONLY.
  3. I am really considering getting the quinn II. and returning my dawson mount. I have used a cheely on a gun i built for a lady and i see no difference in finding the dot. between the upright and the 90. I just needed a nudge.
  4. I have a dawson cmore mount coming for my 9mm trubore but i have been talking about it with some folks and now I am considering a cheley or sidewinder mount. Any suggestions ?
  5. thanks guys. And they did drop right on the frame. I had to take a little off the top of my trigger and just a tiny tiny bit out of the mag release port. Mat
  6. lol, Chris at this point I think its a whole new gun. The only thing left on it from when i got it is the barrel!!! but it should be good to go now.
  7. The person i got my apeiro from thinned the under side of the grip to much and it has broke from draw wear. anyway I have never changed grips before just tore the gun down ect. does a new set of polymer grips need fitting or are they pretty much drop in? Mat
  8. I have a glock 24 lone wolf barrel and 2 40 s&w mags

  9. check to make sure you are on your rails. remove your bushing and recoil spring if you can this will help remove some of the tension off the slide. It sounds like you missed the link and you should be able to put a little ass behind it to get it were you need to be.
  10. oh sorry man i did miss it. 1.190 on this load. It is 180 lFP with 4.2 grains of titegroup behind it. I usualy load to 1.135 but this round tends to tumble @ that oal.
  11. Cool man what may have been is you had chunks of crud behind the claw in the channel also. that would put mire tension on it also. I wanted mine dirty SSS heck when I run it. If will do it dirty it should run clean is my theroy
  12. Ck1 I test fired mine today and I had to remove the front spring for it to go 100% but now it runs like a raped ape! And the brass hits the same spit everytime.
  13. after doing some testing I found i need less tension also. I was having some feeding issues with my 175 grain SWC. so I went with just one rear spring and that cleared it up. will live fire it tomorrow and see how it works.
  14. Havnt shot mine yet but running the slide by hand with 6 differant rounds from lead to jhp from 1.135 - 1.194 oal they all fed and left the gun.
  15. ok so this is nothing that will affect function just looks?
  16. ok my aftec went in no trimming on the firing pin stop. loaded up a bunch of different types of dummy rounds and has not fTE yet.HOWEVER it does poke out the back of the slide a bit and does not fit flush like my STI extractor did? whats the deal?
  17. all you have to do is retension the sear spring. What is happening is common when a sear spring ( the midlle leg) doesnt mount flush with the sear. it may need to be bent slightly rearward forward or rotated clockwise/counter clockwise. My apeiro does this to me from time to time... A new spring and flush contact will fix the issue. My gun smith put a litte bit more angle on one side of my sear than the other so I have to twist my leg just a tab countercloskwise keep good positive contact and keep the spring from slipping in front of the sear after a while. 18. Scot I will show yall the case and bullet at Cas! Didn't even burn hot enough to burn all of mr garrys lube off
  19. Being trashed than my face being trashed. I had to go test fire it before I would let anyone clean me up. Out on the range holding a towel on my face weak handing my gun lol. We are nuts yall
  20. 45 I was out of wolf primers and used some soft federals i keep on hand for my open glock. Sometimes the Sti extended ejector hit the primer hard enough to set it off. This is much easier with soft primers. So I got the projectile in chin busted me wide open bled like a stuck pig. But I am aware of this so I always keep my hand away from the chamber. Moral of the story use hard primers and case gauge even ur practice rounds. What's bad is I was more worried about my aperio
  21. Had a round not go fully into battery stuck slide grab the front slide rack it hard round goes bang on the ejector bullet hit slide and punches me in jaw case hits me in the chest lots of blood later the Sti is fine jaw is swollen and this is why I never let ro's cup my chamber on unload and show clear
  22. Blake has told me that from day 1! I am going to have to get a neck brace or something lol!
  23. yeah coach I noticed that. I think I am going to start slapping my upper chest to index something else. that is an old concealed draw habit. The par time is 1.20 I want to get the shot and be pressing the button before the beep. I wish I could set 3 times on it. Goal is draw fire reload 1.95-2.05 Tomorrow is box drills. I am really pushing it hard to get ready for the Mississippi classic Mat
