  1. If I remember correctly, the aftermarket MecGar mags are just a bit wider, which make them more sensitive to mad release tolerance. I could be wrong, though.
  2. FWIW...mine came out relatively easily on both Shadows. I just use blue-loctite when finished. Also, for reference, I went thorough the bend/re-bend process twice -- before re-loctite. If you bend too much, then you'll have to depress the mag-release harder to release the mag; without enough bending, then it won't do you much good. I think a minor bend is the best in that I would speculate most shooters probably don't depress the mag-release all the way. Of course, I have pretty thick grips that minimize the probability of fully depressing the release. YMMV.
  3. Bend the leg as shown. Normally, when the mag release is depressed hard, the "left" leg is then pushed almost all the way to the right, which pins the left side of the release against the mag. When the "right" leg is bent as shown, the "left" leg won't be able to travel as far. And, when you actuate the mag release, you can see how much of that little "tab", on the left side, sticks out or into the magwell.
  4. Here is a pic to the over-press fix. Don't bend it too much unless you want a loose, rattling mag release when magwell is empty. http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/thread/1671296/Any-interest-in-an-IDPAIPSC-thread/?page=83
  5. Nimitz...if you have a Shadow, then you already have an extended release button. Anything bigger would not be production legal. There's a quick fix to remedy the over-press. If that is indeed the cause of your problem, post it here and I'll share the fix.
  6. You should look at the new DAA PDR-Pro. Interesting product.
  7. You can buy the locking plate from CZ-USA for $3/per. If there's a coupon code, even less.
  8. I'm not really here to argue with you,Corey, because it goes nowhere. Accu-Shadow is sold under the catalog of CZ-USA, not CZC. Although I shoot CZ, and longer than many here, I'm quite indifferent to this issue. It's not as if I have much respect for IPSC/USPSA management, anyway.
  9. I don't believe CZC is a manufacturer of firearms. I think CZC modifies CZ firearms manufactured by CZUB and sells them in behalf of, and in cooperation with, CZ-USA. As CZ-USA is recognized by USPSA as a manufacturer, its firearms are eligible to be considered for Production. I do wish CZUB, CZ-USA, and CZC would have a better alignment similar to that of Tanfo/Grauffel in Europe. Of course, we know how much IPSC management loves CZC/CZ-USA. My two pesos.
  10. Based on my experience, I disagree. I have shot all the guns you mentioned and am one of the earlier adopters of CZ in USPSA. My Shadows have a lot of work in them and their DA are not as good as Glock/XDM/M&P with good trigger jobs.
  11. Here. http://www.caspianarms.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CAL&Product_Code=S24LT&Category_Code=S24 NEAT!!! Ill go check out their website to see if i can track it down. Thanks for the info.
  12. It's from Caspian. Has the LPA-style cut as the stock Shadow Target sight. My stock sight broke.
  13. G...no one can ever accuse you for not being CZanatic. I remember when I bought my first one about three years ago -- you and a couple of others (e.g. czeer) were the experts I sought for research. Now, I feel like an "old-timer" given the recent explosion of interest in CZ/Tanfo.
  14. Thought I would post this Black-beauty before the holster-wear starts, again.

    Spare Parts Kit

TRS and Slide-stop are a must. Of course, I'm a GM at breaking CZ parts.

    CZ 75 sp-01

The 17-rd+2 base-pad will not fit in the Production box, unless you have an adjustable rear-sight --- even then, it's a big maybe. One of mine didn't fit. I just use the 17-rd mags.
  17. Czhase is correct...you have to really hammer the pin, with a proper support.
  18. The methodology is a secret because... -- The person in charge of it is quite ancient. -- And, he/she is also of Chinese ethnic background.
  19. I wonder how many first-time, 2013 Prod Nationals shooters are going to 2014. If the 5-day schedule holds, then I'm not going. Time to allocate my funds to other interests/sports.
  20. Terrific idea, Chef. Without knowing the effort and the work that went into the event-planning, my comments may not be sufficiently apropos. Nonetheless, here it is. Not in any particular order. 1. Formalized event objectives (yes; more than just a "big" match for shooters) - media exposure - sponsors experience - participant experience - etc. 2. Event/strategic planning - Timeline/gantt (announcements, hotel,stage-designs, ...) - Resource requirement (stage-designs, props, volunteers) - Ad hoc council? (industry players, PR firms,...)
  21. Rick...as stated, I will make no more comments on this topic. Thus, I'll pm you with my thoughts.
