  1. But due to form rules no selling or trading on this topic/ page.
  2. Thanks for all the help, Yes the 550 is a good press and I did buy it used at a very good price. When I got the 550 I was just switching to Open from lmd and was new to reloading. I work 5-6 days a week as a paramedic and my time is limited, so i hate spending hrs reloading for matches. So is putting an case feeder on a 550 not even worth it then. Dont see too many out there. I also need to take a day and break the press down and do some general maintenance. Primers shuttle is getting tuck on down stroke and slowing me down.
  3. Hi everyone, so I have been reloading on my 550 for 6 moths now and I plan on shooting more matches this year. Currently I go through about 1000 rnds a month but iam looking at doing more training and will be shooting 2-3k more every few months. So i like the 550 as it was a great starter press (9mm major) only for now, But i think upgrading to an 650 is line for me. My question is do a sell the 550 or keep it and buy an 650. I was told that the 550 will make more accurate ammo vs the 650 as fewer moving parts. just would like to hear some options of making the 550 better or just sell it and get a 650. Going to a gun show this weekend so hopefully i can find a good deal.
  4. Thanks I will give that a try. Does not help that Iam running 8.3 grains of HS6 ( 9 mm major) .
  5. Been running an Used 550B for about 6 months now and lately I have noticed an ton of powder on the shell plate and table. Yes iam Running Open 9mm so the powder is close to the rim of the case. But Iam not going as fast as possible. Are there any way to prevent the powder loss. Not Seeing any major changes in Grains in completed rounds. So I dont know how Iam losing so much powder. BTW Iam running HS6.
  6. It also depends on the powder that you are running. I prefer to clean my gun between and major match and every other weekly match. I run Hs6 which is very dirty and a clean gun runs smoother and less likely to have any issues. You also want to be cleaning your mags between stages because depending on where you shoot, you dont want Sand or dirt in your gun. That can lead to a hole other round issues.
  7. I will be getting more mags for A6 and the proam.
  8. Yea Mike, I agree with you. I ran into the issue at the wac on sunday, where i dropped my big stick and reloaded to my 155 but would have and dry with 4 targets left so I had to pick up the 170 off the ground. I know this is a major NoNo, but it worked out in my favor. The only time I have needed an 3rd mag is during classifiers where you have to have a 2nd string with a another reload.
  9. I run one 170 and have a 155 as my reload. I dont have an issue reloading to the 170 but can only load 29 in the mag. A 155 can hold 27. Some people will go out an buy MBX mags or they will buy sti mags and tune them how they see fit. With the MBX mags you also dont have to run a spacer for 9mm ( I dont run 38 sup so I dont if you need the spacer due to the longer round. For the ProAm iam going to be getting some stock 140's and see how they run, But for big matches all you need is one 170 and two 155's or 141's in-place of the 155's. I ran with only a 170 and one 155 at this years fl champ and did not have an need to run a third mag, But in the future I will be running at least one more 155. I like the extra rounds vs the 141's.
  10. I love the Pt grip on my 9mm open gun. Balances out just right and never have an Issue with it slipping from my hands. But you are right, they are not for everyone and every gun. But on my next limited gun I will be putting one on.
  11. Nice looking rig there. Adam makes a great product. Iam curious about the mag? Let us know how it shoots.
  12. Congrats on the new blaster. Buddy of mine has one and he swears by it.
  13. Thanks and they have them listed as the v 4 models.
  14. My open gun is coming soon, hopefully after the proam in a few weeks. I have decided on the RTS2 and was trying to find the best deal. Right now Amazon has them on sale for 389.99 but I dont trust them. Has anyone had bad luck from midway? Or can someone send me in the right direction of one with a v4 board. I dont need a mount just the optic.
  15. Iam in the process of having my Open gun built and it is at a stage where I need to deiced, if I want to run a RTS2 or a classic C-more. I was at the match when Frank had to turn the sight back on mid stage. Not Fun. It sounds like the RTs2 need a min voltage to operate. Not that I want to be changing the battery every few matches because they can add up fast. I shoot One to two Mini matches a week at wac and out to frostproof when I can.
  16. Do you have any issues running 9 major. I keep getting talked out of a 38sc build.
  17. Ye iam looking at a CK arms for my first 9mm open gun, now iam just trying to get the cash together.
  18. Yea I think its a good deal and a great starting point, I need to save up a bit more. So iam still looking at 2-4 months before i can make a purchase.
  19. Thanks everyone for their input. Yea Trent, i hate picking up brass even if its 40. I will go for a 9mm just for that reason. Iam going to hold off on the PT special right now any and just save up for a complete gun. Buy once cry once. Flatlander, no i would not being doing the work my self. Dont worry I will do tons of more research before i go out a make purchase.
  20. Hi Trent Its Ben from Wac! Yea I keep going back and forth about 9mm vs 38sc. I know 9 is cheaper but the guns tend to be more troublesome.
  21. Hi everyone, So I have been shooting limited for a few yrs now and I like it a lot but I want to start shooting open. SO I know there are many great gun builders out there and every one of them have great products. But Iam an under paid Paramedic and Cant afford some of the bigger name brands. I know i can go with an STI but I still dont have 4-5k on hand. So right now Phoenix Trinity is running a sale ( hopefully I Didnt miss it) On a Slide, frame and evo grip for around 1100. I know I will need everything else I just want to know what you all think if this would be a good base to start from. Iam looking at getting it in 38 super comp. Any input would be great.
  22. I bounced my reverse plug off three walls, spent 30min trying to find it.
  23. I had the same issue with my new crp edge. the gun ran great then I installed a new grip from Extreme shooters the Dexter. Trigger pull was nice and crip when empty, but when loaded, I was getting a much heavier trigger pull. I was told that because of the grip reduction I might be griping the frame too hard and putting pressure on the trigger Bow. I re installed the original grip and gun ran great. Shot the FL state championship with no issue's. Now to the op, what kind of grip are you running?
