  1. My Limited-10, duty weapon and off duty weapon. Okay, its my beater, but it works. I bought it used, but it was LNIB. Had it a week or two over 2 years. It goes bang when it is supposed to, and shoots where I aim it. Couldn't ask for more. Plus it doesn't have that stupid Schwartz safety thingy. Jon
  2. 300 rounds of 45 ACP on a Rockchucker. Took about four hours. What a pain. Dumped the 'chucker quick. 500 rounds of 45 ACP, 500 rounds 45 Colt, on my RL550b. Took about two and a half hours. I like my Dillon! Jon
  3. I FTP the picture to the web space that my internet provider lets me have. Then use the IMG tag and copy the web address of the picture. When you see my picture it is "direct linked" from my web space which is www.itctel.com/~zengrass. Using the file attachments you load the picture into the Enosverse webserver and the forum sets it up as a thumbnail to click on for the larger picture. Most likely to reduce server load. You can get a free image hosting web site, ala Photobucket or Hunt101. But I don't know if they are allowing direct linking, because it can suck down alot of bandwidth. Hope this helps, if it doesn't PM me or maybe someone much smarter then me can help. Jon
  4. My pup Cooper. Actually my wife got him, she always wanted a Boston Terrier since she had several growing up. I wanted a lab, but she won. I never thought I would love such a small dog, but the little turd won my heart. Video of him and his former girlfriend. Until he ripped it apart. Poor Pikachu never stood a chance. Video is 748KB. Cooper video Pictures and video taken a few months ago, he is now about 15 lbs. and still a turd. Jon
  5. madone, It's a Gladiator Garage Works 6 Ft. Modular Workbench, with the Modular GearBox. The web site is www.gladiatorgw.com. Gladiator Garage Works is owned by Whirlpool and is some good stuff, very heavyduty. Jon
  6. Finally snapped a pic with the Dillon in place. I also added some shelves. I love this machine! Now if Midway would get Vibra-primes back in stock, I will be even happier. Thanks Brian! Jon
  7. I love that bucket! But I can't be tactical with a bucket. I have to have a bag that says its tactical in at least two separate places! Jon
  8. Test results! Well Chuck it couldn't hold 140lbs. but it lasted to 100lbs. before everything took a tumble. But at 80lbs. it was having difficulty. IMAGES REMOVED BY AUTHOR, EMAIL ME FOR COPIES. The weight was all weighed on my bathroom scale before placing on the bag, and it tells me I am fat so it must be accurate. Jon
  9. Chuck, I will do that for you. I agree your bag is more than likely much stronger. I have to see if I can find 70-140 lbs of stuff I can stack on the top. Like I said in my first post, I don't own a Shooters Connection bag and only said they look like they have the same layout. I am sure your bag is the better bag, and you get what you pay for. I only stated the RR bag was sturdy and was built well. Yours could be much better but I can't tell. I don't compete in any shooting sports right now, although I am planning on starting this summer. I am a LEO working for a very low paying department, (shift managers at McDonalds make more than me and they are right out of high school). Eventually I was planning on buying your bag, but my department allows us to pick up some equipment on the departments dime and we get to keep it (probably to help offset the low pay). I had everything else I needed to do the job, so I got the bag. Plus my department will only purchase through companies they have prior accounts with. Even though I don't compete, I come to this forum because USPSA and IPSC shooters have the fundamentals of fast accurate shooting. They all may not know police tactics, but using information from here I can mold it to work for law enforcement. I know most LEO's are ridiculed for their ineptitude with firearms and piss poor firearms safety. But because of forums like this one and Brian's book, and Matt Burkett's videos, I am teaching my department more progressive techniques that allow them to improve their firearms skills. Unfortunately most LEO are not shooters, they will not dryfire, or practice except for department mandated training and only will use ammo purchased by the department. The 5.11 line of gear helps me get my job done at prices I and my department can afford. I reload so I can practice, I do all my own gunsmithing, and refinishing. Price for me is always a concern, so this works for me. I do appreciate all that you do for the shooting sports and wish you many continued years of success. I will try to locate some heavy stuff to place on my bag. Anybody know how much a thousand rounds of .45 weighs? Jon
  10. I don't have the SC bag but I can say that the RR bag is huge! Here is my 15 pound Boston Terrier in the RR bag. IMAGE REMOVED BY AUTHOR. Jon
  11. It's rigid. I looked at the I-Shot Pro Shooter, and I know what you are talking about, I don't see that problem with the RR bag. Jon
  12. I finally recieved my Royal Robbins Range Ready bag yesterday. It seems they have been backordered for while. I have never owned a Shooters Connection bag, but looking at the SC website the bags are the same layout. The SC bag can support 140 lbs, I really don't know about the RR bag, but the bag seems extremely sturdy. Zippers operate very smooth, stitching is strong, and the fabric is nice and thick with good padding. IMAGES REMOVED BY AUTHOR, PLEASE EMAIL ME IF YOU WANT COPIES. Pictures are of it loaded up with some stuff. The pockets have my Pro-Ears, shooting glasses, stapler, timer, batteries, first aid kit, and other essentials. The removable stage bag I loaded up with rounds and two guns just for the pics. Since it is cold, windy and there is snow on the ground I am not going to take it to the range. I loaded it up with 1000 rounds of .45 ACP and lugged it around the house. It's safe to say my back will go out before the bag. Worth every penny. Jon
  13. My carry gun, on and off duty. Carried a Glock 21 on duty for about a year, but my Chief let me switch after the academy, ! Kimber Classic Custom pre-series II Only modifications are: removed full length guide rod and installed stubby GI EGW Slide Stop EGW Angle-bored bushing EGW flat bottomed firing pin stop Ed Brown Hardcore extractor Ed Brown 30lpi Flat Mainspring housing Heinie Straight-8's Gunner grips and grip tape. Mags are Wilson 7 rounders with Tripp upgrades. Only problem I have ever had was with the original followers (long story). Still has factory 23lb mainspring. Trigger was originally mushy and 5.5 lbs, so I worked on it and it is now a crisp 4 lbs. Got it about two years ago, and it was LNIB and only had 300 rounds through it. It now has about 17,000 rounds through it. Now it rattles like my dad's 1918 Colt Government, but still does the job. I might have it fixed up at the end of the year, but I really want a S_I for limited, so it may wait. Jon
  14. I have one on the way. It was backordered until Feb. 5, 2005 hopefully it will be here soon. It looks the same as the Shooters Connection bag, but only time will tell. Jonathan
  15. Hey! I just had this realization while I was in my office doing some reading. The magazine I was reading had TGO doing a reload and the magazine was falling out of the gun while the other hand was almost inserting a mag. For some reason it dawned on me that I was trying to release the mag before moving my stupid hand. I thought maybe I would drop my time if I moved my hand first and then hit the button. So I flushed and went to get my gear on. I just got done practicing with my Kimber with no funnel, and KY-TAC mag pouches and was beating my 1.5 sec par time. I am not the quickest person on the planet so that felt freaking fast! (Considering my old times were around 2 seconds, it felt like I was waiting for the mag to leave the gun before I moved to get the new mag) Feeling pretty good about my times, I haven't shot USPSA yet, but I think this summer I will be trying it out. With duty rig I am a bit slower, having to unbutton the snap seems to take forever! Jonathan
  16. I live in South Dakota!! What's a shovel?? They invented a thing called the Snow Blower years ago and I love using it. Yesterday, it snowed and then we had a thunderstorm. Lightning, thunder a crap load of rain. Now instead of driving, you just put on ice skates. I love this state. Texas, hmmph. Jonathan
  17. I was looking all over for this thread and finally realized someone tacked it up top. Forensics Doc - Sorry it took so long to answer. The bench was something my dad's neighbor won and my dad bought it and gave it to me for my birthday. It's a Gladiator Garage Works 6 Ft. Modular Workbench, with the Modular GearBox. The web site is www.gladiatorgw.com. Nice bench, I almost didn't want to drill holes in the top. Gladiator Garage Works is owned by Whirlpool and is some good stuff, very heavyduty. Man did I ever get a lot of crap for having carpet and a TV. The carpet is no big deal, I have a vacuum just for that room, and it's an old Rainbow with the watertank for the crap to go into. I am far to cheap to get rid of the carpet and put in laminate. The only other place was in the garage, but I live in South Dakota and it gets cold here. The TV is really no big deal for me, I have it on for background noise. I am a police officer and all night long, over the radio I hear constant noise. If I came home and tried to reload without something in the back ground I would go nuts. So far I have loaded exactly 15,550 rounds in various calibers and never had a problem. I have my Dillon 550b now but, I haven't even had time to take it out of the box. But I am getting a Ruger Blackhawk in two days and have to load up a bunch of .45 Colt so I may have to set it up tomorrow. Jonathan
  18. Yeah, I know, that's why I got the anti-static version. Jon
  19. I have a large, hard plastic floor mat on the way. The kind you see under office chairs across America. That will make primers and powder easier to clean up. But honestly I never had a problem in my old apartment which had carpet and I loaded thousands of rounds there. Jonathan
  20. schmitz - Yes it's carpet. The previous owners had a teenage daughter that lived in the room. So areas of the carpet are stained with makeup and I think one is a large Coca-Cola stain, but I really am not sure. We shampooed the carpet in the room before we moved in and got rid of most of the stains but not all would come out. To fix we would have to put in new carpet, or use as my reloading room. I think that was an obvious choice! SiG Lady - Thanks and will do! She is so good to me it's scary, I am a very lucky man. Jonathan
  21. Here's mine. IMAGES REMOVED BY AUTHOR, NEW PHOTO IN LATER REPLY I love my wife! We buy a new house and when looking at it with the realtor she said, "Jon, this will be perfect for your reloading room." God bless her! Jonathan
  22. The loaded chamber indicator is on the new style extractor. The extractor is made to sit flush with the slide when a round is not in the chamber, but when a round is in the chamber it sticks out a little bit so you can feel it with your hand. Not really all that practical on a gaming gun, but on a duty gun it is sometimes helpful. Let's say you a police officer in pursuit of a suspect that is armed, and you are in deep woods or a dark building. Even though you probably have a round in the chamber, you would like to double check and be re-assured. Instead of turning on your flashlight (and giving away your position) to perform a press check, you can run your trigger finger up a few centimeters higher and feel the protrusion, thus knowing the weapon is hot. It looks like I can't post a picture of the difference in extractors here, but if you would like give me your email and I can send one to you. BTW, at 6'4" and 225lbs. I am anything but LITTLE! Jon
  23. With the new style extractor it is probably the Spring-Loaded bearing (if you remove the slide cover plate this will be the first part of the extractor assembly that you see). Glock accidently shipped several new Glocks out with the older style bearing for the old style extractor. On new guns with the indicator, the spring loaded bearing has to be shorter then the original ones, to insure proper extractor tension. Call Glock explain to them the problem and they will ship you a new bearing free of charge. Jonathan Anderson
