  1. I want some kinda metal grip on my CCGunworks limited gun coming next Month. So its either the STI aluminum or a SVI stainless signature model. Anyone know if STI has tweaked their alum grips to not crack. I know if they are fit right they shouldn't crack. If I can use a STI alum grip why can't I use a SVI alum? I have had a couple people tell me to use the steel grips including SVI.
  2. My M&P22 is nothing like the trigger on my burwell tuned pro.

You guys are making it very difficult not to put in an order for one of these. I would like to hear from someone who owns one?
  4. Welcome, welcome. I could use some bay area weather about now!

Carbon9 that is a glowing recommendation. How is the size of the pistol in comparison to a compact M&P 9. I am not a big guy and the M&P is about as big as I can get away with on my hip.

Does anyone have or has used a CZ custom shop pro tec 2? I would like to add a DA/SA carry gun to my collection. It's a little pricey but does seem nice. Would like to get some opinions before spending the cash as I will not be able to handle it first.
  8. Using handloads for defensive rounds could open you up to scrutiny if a shooting case was ever to go to court. Best to stick with whatever your local police or sheriffs department is using.
  9. Can't go wrong with federal.
  10. I use a redding grx pass through die and found something interesting the other day. Used range brass passes through with resistance and new brass passes through like it has been lubed with butter. I am sold on the pass through die.
  11. No one has done any work on their M&P22 trigger?
  12. I also decided on a 5" sight tracker and next year I can always have a 6" sight tracker upper made when they become limited legal.
  13. I agree with one of the posters, give Brian E. a call and he will not send you in the wrong direction.
  14. I take pride in my guns when they start to wear. A number of years ago I did own a leather lined holster from tucker gun leather out of TX called the rolling thunder. Not sure if they are still making it but it did work pretty well at protecting the guns finish.

    SP-01 dilemma

I would listen to eerw, he is supposed to be the man when it comes to cz's.
  16. Ah the strikers block, yes that's what it was. Thanks now I remember
  17. I really want to try a sight tracker and I can't discount the fact that they look really cool. I also like the feel of metal in my hand and hence the metal grip. I know they are pricey but it might be a while till I do another limited gun. Ammo is not a problem as I am lucky enough to have 2 1050's. My thought is that the sight tracker does add weight up front but Matt does machine off some of the weight on the slide and with going to a short dust cover this would also reduce front end weight. From this starting point I can then fine tune front end feel with different weight guide rods. That is what I was thinking. Any other ideas?
  18. Ok got my new M&P22 finally in hand. I would like to get the pistol as close to my USPSA M&P 9pro as possible. I had Dan Burwell do a comp trigger job on her and she is sweet. Is there any way that I can get the trigger as sweet as on my comp. gun or is this a lost cause?
  19. +1 for comptac although the dropped and offset thing does sound appealing.
  20. Those M&P22 were real hard to find until just recently. Finally got mine and need to take it to the range. Think I paid closer to $300 for mine.
  21. I tried to have my local gunsmith install a Tripp K1 rear sight on my m&p pro9. His thought was to weld in a metal plug in place of the existing sight cut then mill the frame for a new sight cut and refinish the slide. After he took a closer look at the slide he said it wouldn't work. I believe there is something important that sits under the rear sight but honestly can't remember.
  22. I also have a 9c as a daily CC gun and use a pro for USPSA. I think the IDPA game wouldn't be as much fun with the compact but if it is more for training then I would always recommend using what u carry. Reloading with the compact can be slow and tedious. For me I have to fold my meat hooks out of the way as I am loading a mag.
  23. I ordered 10 mags from Botach last year and also had them in hand after a week. Never have had an issues with them and they were significantly cheaper than anywhere else.
  24. This may disappoint some but after looking at the bank account, I have decided to just get one top end for the gun and that being a 5". I figured I could always have Matt do a 6" sight tracker next year. Can't shoot it in Limited this year anyway. Thanks guys for all the replies. Now I just have to figure out the rest of the gun. Leaning towards adding a SS SVI signature grip.
