    Mags Sticking

With some additional light sanding they all drop free now. It also seems when it's colder they are little slower to drop.

    Mags Sticking

Initially it seemed the magwell plug was the problem. After taking a little material off and smoothing it up all but one drops freely. I figured I would sand that last mag a little, nothing else to do with no power.

    Mags Sticking

I don't use a plug but I am running a Dawson Magwell. I'll see if that's the culprit (the back of the mags is where the scuff marks are) and if not I'll try the wipes. I think I have some in my car. Thanks for the quick responses.

    Mags Sticking

I picked up some police trade in Glock 22 mags. They are drop free mags with #5 follower. At first they seemed perfect since they easily fit 20 rounds reloadable with Dawson base pads but today while practicing some reloads I noticed every one of them would hang up when empty. A gentle shake releases them but I had a few occasions when I jammed the fresh mag in before it dropped. I can see minor scuff marks where they must be dragging so my first thought is to sand them down a little to see if it helps. Has anyone ever tried this? What will leave the smoothest surface? Any help is appreciated.
  5. I wish I had the ability to do that, looks great.
  6. I use a Comp Tac belt holster and mag holders for my Glock. I also picked up a Minotaur holster belt from them and it works well for both IDPA and everyday use. As far as vest I use a Woolrich vest that bought off the IDPA website and it does the job.
  7. I just received a Square Deal last week after a few years of loading with a single stage. I decided to get the SDB over the 550 because of cost and I really only load 9mm so I don't have a need for loading rifle rounds. I figured if things change in the future it wouldn't be so horrible to have two presses. I'm amazed at how fast this press can spit out rounds. I have no regrets with this purchase, my only regret is not buying enough components to keep it fed.
  8. I bought a few Glock 22 mags a couple weeks ago from them. They have the #5 follower and allowed 20 reloadable with my Dawson base pads. All my newer mags can only fit 19 so I'm thinking of picking up more for this reason alone.
  9. The follower may also need more material removed from the back. This happened to me when I first tried to load them up. I kept removing more and testing till it was all smoothed up.
  10. This was the main deciding factor when my wife got her first gun (besides being "pretty"). She had to attempt racking the slide before we would purchase anything. She could rack the slide on my Glocks running a 13 lb. recoil spring but not the stock 17 lbs and .45 1911 was never going to happen. She ended up getting a 9mm Kimber Aegis because the recoil spring was light enough to rack easily (and it was "pretty"). I tried teaching her different methods of racking the slide but it was just better to buy something she felt comfortable handling.
  11. Thanks everyone for the quick response. I'm going with the +5, this is all for a 870 I had laying around so if I decide I made the wrong move I'll know when I eventually get a semi.
  12. I tried searching but every topic about extensions and rounds popped up. This is kind of time sensitive so thought I'd just ask. I need to order an extension and they are finally in stock. I keep changing mind on a +4 or +5 giving 8 or 9 rounds. Barrel length isn't an issue because right now it's a 28inch and it will be cut down, either option lines up with a cutting location. The local match I'm planning to start at has no round limit other than no more than the stage requires in the gun at the start but I do plan on going to other matches in the future. Thanks for helping.
  13. I love my 9mm Spartan. I don't shoot hallowpoints but it's been flawless with everything I've tried. If I could do it over again my .45 would be a Spartan too.
  14. I'm also looking to replace the strikers on 2 guns after replacing the one in my 24. I have a Jager striker because that's what came with my Vanek trigger. It's extended, lightened and they stand behind their product so durability isn't an issue. I don't think there's anyway around the price but if you want to get the best trigger (and maintain reliability) it becomes a must.
  15. I agree with the AE 147g. Great accuracy out of both my 9mm Glocks and are as soft as my reloads.
