  1. I think their pmag sale is an on going deal. I ordered mags from them a few months ago at that price.
  2. Palmetto state armory rifle kit, and gen find yourself a stripped lower. Hard to be for cost/quality
  3. Ill second stockade gunstocks. Kevin is great to talk to and will answer every question you have. I am doing a sav. in rem260 and he talked with me on the phone for an hour answering all my questions and what not. Biggest thing is, I hadnt even spent a dime with him at that point.
  4. Great rifles. A friend has that exact rifle in a kevlar stock. The single set trigger is nice. I would say thats a good price too. They are hard to beat for the money. Might not have the aftermarket of a Remington or Savage, but they shoot so what more could you want.
  5. I would have to purchase tools. I realized that it would probably cost more. But sometimes the journey is as much fun as the destination. That said Im not dead set on this. Im open to suggestions on where else I should look. Para tactical and have a smith fit a 10mm slide? Para prices are approaching STI though, and I know STI makes better guns.
  6. I want to try and put together a 2011 pistol. I know their is fusion, but I have heard mixed reviews of their customer service. Although I have heard that theirr parts are high quality. I know I can get a matched frame and slide from Caspian and Brownells and I assume others have a STI short block kit. What are my other options? I know somebody is going to say just go buy a stock sti but I cant afford the whole deal right now. Also part of this is having 2 slides fit. I was hoping to get a 6 inch slide in 10mm fitted for hunting, and a 5 inch slide in 9mm or 40.
  7. Let me know. I have another buddy thats looking for one. I had an SP01 loved it! Said I would never sell it, ending up selling it. But it was to buy a SP01 Shadow Target from Angus! I am infecting all my glock loving friends with a love of the perfect 9mm pistol.
  8. Thats a decent investment in mags and that holster isnt cheap either. 625-650 with mags/holster/sights n trigger I know a friend of mine just paid 500 for a private to private for a low round count stock sp01
  9. Looks like a decent rifle. Wonder why the went with a SSA-E instead of the S3G. Was that a vltor upper? I know he mentioned the lower, didnt hear what he said about the upper (my comp. speakers are strange) Nice wiemar BTW!
  10. I dont have a 223 dropper yet. Although I do do what your talking about with 40, 45, and 9mm. I use the hornady bullet feeder set up with clear poly tubing from Linens and things.com works great! It seems up the reloading process alot even when you factor in the time to load the tubes. So I can order a 223 dropper set up from DAA for 90 bucks?
  11. I to have had problems with high primers dragging on the indexing plate. Currently I have a small indentation where the primer seating pin hits the frame of the press, I have made a tool steel button that I had planned to drill a pocket for and epoxy in place. I have decided to scrap that idea as their isn't any adjust ability in it. That next plan to to make a steel bushing with a shoulder, that has been drilled/tapped in the center so it can be set screwed for some adjust ability. The above mentioned indent is from a batch of 9mm I loaded that had a lot of S&B brass in it, that had some very tight primer pockets. I didnt want to sort them all out, but had I known it was doing that I would have.
  12. It bums me out to here Hornady QC is slipping. I would hope that they are not stooping to the level of cheap Asian labor. I have been told that Hornady outsources a lot of their machining, which I believe when it comes to certain things you see. Like the shell plates all having a different style of numbering even if you buy them close together. The outsourced machining could have a bunch to do with the QC, but you would hope that Hornady would have secondary QA in house.
  13. Maybe he is worried about static electricity building up and lighting off powder?
  14. When your looking for a correct drill bit for use as your alignment bar, a #3(.213) drill is just about perfect for LRG primers, and a #14 (.182) is prefect for SML primers.
  15. If your looking for cheap powder, you could try some WC844 or WC846 (Military pull down powder) I use it in my plinking loads, works just fine. For a little heavier practice bullet 62gr SS109 can be found for around 80 bucks a 1k
  16. Here is my process for high volume 223 on LNL Heres what Im thinking. Trip number #1 Station 1: RCBS Lube and Decap Die Station 2: Full Length Size in Small Base Die Station 3: Dillion Trimmer with neck reamed out (only function is to trim, not to size) Then Tumble Clean/Chamfer neck/ Clean Primer pocket Trip#2 Station 1: Lee Universal Decap die (makes sure flash hole is clear ) Prime Station 2: Powder Place Bullet Station 3: Seat Bullet Station 4: Crimp Bullet
  17. Could always try the powderfunnels.com ptx die. One size fits most all pistol calibers, I have one on mine and it works great. For the PTX to work correctly, I think you need the latest arm setup for your powder measure, along with one of these brackets if you already knew that, disregard.
  18. Has any body used the Powderfunnels.com PTX die with the hornady bullet feeder die? I have the PF PTX and all my dies, just waiting on my tubes to make a cheap bullet feeder. I didnt think that the hornady ptx die was nessecary to run their bullet feeder, but ya never know...
  19. I have the powderfunnels.com PTX die, It does .355 cases and up just fine. It doesnt work with 223, I swapped back to standard small caliber die when I was swapping metering assemblies from pistol to rifle.
  20. I have had great luck with my LNL. I had primarily loaded 40 and 45 in it but recently started 9mm,38/357, and as of last Sat. 223. I had a small timing issue with 9mm, but 1/8 turn of the screw and it worked great again. I don't have a case or bullet feeder. But a Case feeder is on the Horizon. Andrews, check Jax Outdoor, wont have one in stock, but can get one. That's where I got mine. Only annoying things is ball powder in the primer slide, and a little compressed air fixes that. I have thought about putting a heavy chamfer on the under side of the slide to give the powder room to get out of the way.
  21. I had to adjust the timing on mine with Shell Plate #8 for the first time in 10k ish rounds. Never had an indexing/timing issue until I started reloading 9mm on it.
  22. No problem. Ill be there from start to finish.
  23. Ive just ran into this problem as well. When you called Hornady about the plate did they offer any info besides we will replace it?
  24. If you havent had your fill. Ill be working the Jax Outdoor range day (june 16th at Ames Ikes) and bring my CZ shadow down from Mason City. Im still paying for it, so it should be brand spankin new.
