  1. I bought a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner. I had to put headers, cam, carb, and manifold on it to get it race ready. There ought to be a law
  2. I guess it depends on who your local gunsmith is Mine is pretty good.
  3. On my new in box 929 the cylinder was hard to spin. When my gunsmith did an action job on it, he said a collar was in backwards, or something like that. And from the factory the double action trigger pull was 12 - 14 pounds, at least.
  4. I chrono'd some 9mm rounds today. Winchester White Box 115gr, and Federal Red Box 115gr. I used my Para P18.9 Pro Custom with a five inch barrel. The WWB averaged 1230 for a power factor of 141. Fastest of 8 rounds 1255, slowest 1182. The FRB averaged 1190 for a power factor of 136. Fastest of 8 rounds 1199, slowest 1180. It's pretty consistent.
  5. Why not set up a pin match (straight time) on Friday, as well as a falling plate match. Give people the opportunity to pull the trigger. If you build it, they will come.
  6. I shot a lot of sporting clays shotgun tournaments. At a big tournament (match) we'll typically have a hundred bird Prelim on Friday, a two hundred bird main event on Saturday/Sunday, as well as a fifty bird pump gun, SxS, .410, 20ga, and 28ga events. None of the guys I shoot with are going anywhere to only pull the trigger 200 times. The really big tournaments include a FITASC (international sporting clays) tournament too. An average tournament will provide you the opportunity to shoot 700-800 shells.

  10. Call me crazy, but I ordered two more. One for my 617 and one for my 686+ There's no way it can take me two hours again, right?
  11. Last time I was a member of the USPSA the hot ticket was a single port .45 with a Tasco big dot. Has that changed?
  12. A BMT Mooner cured my lumbago, gave me 20/20 eye sight, stopped the ringing in my ears, and loads my .38 special rounds easily.
  13. Put a Weigand rear sight on it. It's a piece of cake
  14. My 5" 627 PC came with a .160, not a .196 I use it with an SDM Super Sight. The Wiegand is also .160
  15. It gives you a "Bomar" type sight picture. I figured for 20 bucks I'd give it a try.
  16. I had to take a few thousandths off the bottom of top part
  17. It took me two hours First it didn't fit, then the replacement screw didn't fit, then the bit from Brownells didn't fit. Then I lost the little detent spring, then I lost the little detent. I should have let a gunsmith do it https://www.jackweigand.com/smith_wesson_rear_blade.html
