  1. Any time frame on Bayou bullets ?
  2. Somebody here recommended this onr. I bought it, and it works great. 25 bucks !! Smart Weigh GEM20 High Precision Digital Milligram Scale 20 x 0.001g Reloading, Jewelry and Gems Scale https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ESHDGOI/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_fab_J7pAFb15CFNED
  3. I hope it's ok to post this here. Just trying to help out. 38 Cal (.357 - .358) - American Reloading https://americanreloading.com/en/392-38-cal-357-358 I'm not sure if you need any, but they're in stock
  4. Has anyone suggested Pinnacle yet?
  5. In So Cal they're selling for retail. Anything less would be foolish. Start at retail, you can always go down.
  6. Mine would chamber individually, but not in a moon clip. Good thing I checked before I left for AZ. They've got back to back revo matches in October. The ICORE Southwest Regional, and the Arizona State Revolver Championship. October 17/18
  7. It really depends on your needs. I always tell people, if you're shooting more than a 1000 rounds a month, a 750 with a case and bullet feeder is the way to go. Under a 1000 a month, a 550 will work just fine. Both crank out quality ammunition.
  8. 1200 rounds a minute? Sounds like a machine gun.
  9. OP, call Dillon and ask them for a free alignment tool. Make sure your platform is in "time". https://www.dillonprecision.com/rl-550-series-xl-650-platform-alignment-tool_8_6_26408.html
  10. Or Station 1: resize, deprime, prime Station 2. Flare, powder drop Station 3. Mr Bullet Feeder mini / drop the bullet Station 4. Seat / crimp the bullet
  11. I load .38 Special/.38 Short Colt/9mm on a 550. Station 1: resize, deprime, prime Station 2. Flare, powder drop Station 3. Seat the bullet Station 4. Crimp Easy peasy lemon squeezey
  12. I learned the hard way not to load 160gr/165gr round nose bullets too short. It bulges the cases, and they won't chamber. I'm now loading 160gr RN at 1.20, and 165gr RN at 1.25. So far so good.
  13. Nope, I just heard from track the Wolf, it's out of stock too. Anybody else have any in stock?
  14. At an o.a.l of 1.15 with a 160gr Bayou bullet I get a bulge in the case. I can load them individually into the chambers, but they hang up when in a moon clip. At 1.20 there's no bulge, and they drop in freely even in a moon clip.
  15. Man, that was close. I almost pulled a "Wayne Nordwell" A 160gr Bayou seated at 1.20 seems to work in my gun. Now I "have" to go back to the range to do more chrono work
  16. Damn, now you tell me. Yep I've got some that will chamber as singles, but not in a moon clip Good thing I just ordered 500 cases
  17. Could be. These make ICORE power factor in my friend's 627. A little low in mine. Name: .38 Short Colt: Titegroup 2.8gr, 158gr Berry's Bullet Notes: Mike R. gave me these to try. Shots: 7 Average: 734 ft/s SD: 15 ft/s Min: 702 ft/s Max: 746 ft/s Spread: 44 ft/s Power Factor Average: 116 Power Factor Low: 110 Power Factor High: 117 Weight: 158.0 gr. OAL: 1.95
  18. .38 Short Colt in my 627 Name: .38 Short Colt: 125gr Berry's flat point: Titegroup 4.0gr Star Line Case 627 Notes: S&W 627 5" barrel 1.075 oal Federal primer Star Line case Shots: 9 Average: 950 ft/s SD: 21 ft/s Min: 920 ft/s Max: 983 ft/s Spread: 63 ft/s Power Factor Average: 118 Power Factor Low: 115 Power Factor High: 122 Weight: 125.0 gr. The exact same load from the same batch on the same day in my 929 (5" barrel) Name: .38 Short Colt: 125gr Berry's flat point: Titegroup 4.0gr Star Line Case 929 Notes: S&W 929 5" barrel 1.075 oal Federal primer Star Line case Shots: 6 Average: 1046 ft/s SD: 7 ft/s Min: 1037 ft/s Max: 1058 ft/s Spread: 21 ft/s Power Factor Average: 130 Power Factor Low: 129 Power Factor High: 132 Weight: 125.0 gr.
  19. Yeah, my 627 always chrono's slow. It has since it was brand new. My gunsmith slugged the barrel, chambers, throats, and checked the barrel and barrel gap. It's all fine.
  20. Mine doesn't come close to that with plated bullets Name: .38 Short Colt: 158gr Berry's flat point: Titegroup 3.1gr Star Line Case 627 Notes: S&W 627 5" barrel 1.15 oal Federal primer Star Line case Titegroup 3.1gr Shots: 15 Average: 631 ft/s SD: 21 ft/s Min: 580 ft/s Max: 668 ft/s Spread: 88 ft/s Power Factor Average: 99 Power Factor Low: 91 Power Factor High: 105 Barometric Pressure: 29 in Hg Temperature: 73 F Weight: 158.0 gr.
  21. In the name of sky-ence, a Starline .38 Short Colt case will hold 11.75gr of Titegroup right up to the top. A Winchester 9mm case will hold 10.95gr right up to the top. Most people that load .38 Short Colt for use in .357 revolvers, just start with 9mm load data, and go up or down from there. I use 160gr Bayou bullets in both.
