I haven't put any rounds through the 2.0, so I have no basis for comparison. However, I did handle them at the NRA show last weekend, and while the trigger is a bit more crisp than stock 1.0, it's not even close to the Apex FSS kits. I don't know how the Apex kits will be in the 2.0. All of the other external upgrades would be similar across both the 1.0 and 2.0.

Completely agree. The DAA racemaster works very well with the X-6, and I would expect their new one to work as well since they use the same inserts.

The X-Five stock flat trigger does this to me - it's the nub at the bottom of the trigger face that digs into the trigger finger pad. I don't have this issue with either the GrayGuns PELT or the original Apex flat trigger. I haven't tried the Apex Advanced trigger just yet.

I had to open up the bottom to get it to fit. It's a less than elegant solution, and Comp-Tac says they have no plans to make them for the X-Five for now, so I ordered a Red Hill Tactical.

Here they are side-by-side. FS is .550" OD at the muzzle, X-Five is .630" OD. The X-Five barrel is also .3" longer. Alma - Did you shoot the FS slide assy on the X-5 grip module for your felt recoil comparison, or with the FS grip module? The X-Five grip is weighted, so I'm wondering how much the difference is due to the barrel weight alone. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot my X-Five yet

The X-Five magwell will work on all guns with the X-Grip, which includes the vtac. I don't know if it is an option to order a vtac with the magwell already installed.

Government. Bruce Gray recommends 15 lbs.

For each fixed sight set I have replaced, I start with replacing just the rear. I'll shoot it with the stock front and see where POA/POI are, and use the Dawson formula to calculate the exact height I need. Although it's a process, I have not had to go through the hassle of fitting a sight set, only to have to remove, exchange, and refit the front sight.

#1, 4 and 5 are standard on the X-Five. The x-series grip has a steel weight insert, and a removable steel mag well that is contoured to match the grip. The mag well doesn't have replaceable inserts like the Dawson Ice, but it is steel, which is far more durable than aluminum. 140mm mags are also standard with the X-Five. For #2 and 3, I would prefer a tungsten guide rod that allows the use of a 1911 recoil spring rather than adding a weight to the rail. I prefer the DAA race master holster over other designs, which it not compatible with rail accessories. Steel guide rods are available from GrayGuns or SP, but they don't add weight. Completely agree with #6. I would really like to see availability of trigger system parts on par with the Apex M&P kits. This would be at the top of my wish list.

Well, since the gun is modular, you should be able to either put a current FS slide assembly on the X-5, or put the x-grip module on any current 320. I don't know if either of these options would would be good for SSP, or would knock you to ESP.

Yeah, easy enough to do yourself. Just take it slow - when you get close, the difference between not fitting and sliding right in is not very far apart.

I'd give Dawson a call. They are making the adjustable rear sights for the X-5, so they just might also be working on an adjustable that fits the current dovetail.

Completely understand. Many of us have been anticipating this since we were teased with the original "Target" model at last year's SHOT show. But, looking at the evolution of the platform since then, it appears Sig has been incorporating design improvements with each big contract they have been chasing. The "Target" was certainly not ready to go, and there would have been a lot of unhappy people who felt like beta testers while Sig made incremental improvements had it been released too soon. Sig seems to be doing it right, and I'm really hoping the wait will be worth it. It shouldn't be too much longer.

The gap above the muzzle is normal, and is there to allow for the barrel to unlock as the slide moves rearward. However, while a .40 can be converted to a 9, the reverse isn't true due to the the breach face, so you will need a new slide. As you are going to be waiting a bit before moving out with whatever decision to make regarding a limited option in .40, I recommend checking out the X-5 option rather than moving straight to an STI - Phil Strader designed the gun for the Limited division. The X-grip has both an integral steel magwell and a grip weight, the factory mags are 140mm, and Dawson adjustable rear and fiber optic front sights are standard. It also has the slide cut for an optic should you want to give that a go. So, all you should need would be the slide/barrel, grip, and mags. Even if Sig doesn't offer the X-series as an x-change kit, it will still be less than half the cost of an STI for a complete gun, and you would be using the same platform across all of the shooting sports you are participating in. Of course, if you want an STI...

The slide on the X-5 is a bit longer than the current 320F. If the holster is a "slide" version with an open bottom, it should work, though the end of the slide will protrude a bit. Closed bottom holsters will not work without mods. If G-Code doesn't make the holster you need, other holster makers that use standard attachment hole patterns, such as Comp-Tac, Bladetech, Safariland, Blackhawk, etc, will work with the RTI system. Just need to swap out the belt attachment with G-Code's RTI Hanger.

You'll also need to take out the spacer and replace the follower.
