  1. I'm not into labelling people and if you don't find my suggestions useful you can always find your own way or sell the timer and find another one you like. It also has nothing to do with PractiScore and I am also not looking over your shoulder, as you aren't exactly telling what you are doing. I simply wen't outside into the bright sun and looked at the timer's screen. Don't really see what is all the fuss about, as it looked acceptable to me - with and without sun glasses. Yes, the screen look dark if I look at it at about 30 degree angle or have it horizontal flat towards the sun. But I also don't see why should I look at it that way.
  2. I don't see any recommendations in the quoted email. It simply describes how the screen tech works. And yet again, tilt timer's screen away from the direct sun light... Also, if you are wearing any sun shade glasses - there is 90..99% chance they are polarized. An easy test is to rotate screen by 90 degrees clock or counter clock wise and see if brightness changes.
  3. That is not what the email says... Any OLED screen look different in a bright sun light. I can see it fine in my regular polarized sun glasses (a bit dimmer comparing to non-polarized glasses). But not all polarized glasses are the same (turn them 90 degrees on any tablet or phone LED/OLED screen and you'll see). The visibility is also changes a lot whether you have it turned to the sun light or away from it. And it is not too hard to tilt timer screen away from the direct sun light.
  4. They been trying, but I yet to see one as reliable and simple as AMG.
  5. Just for the record. None of that is unique to that timer. You have it pretty much with all Bluetooth-enabled timers.
  6. Which one is #3? For matches - only two aren't supported as far as I know. And one of them still working on their own chores. For practice - that one is the only timer that isn't supported yet.
  7. How is that a real problem? You sound as if there is a pile of timers that aren't being integrated into PractiScore...
  8. With Combined results not counting for any scores there isn't really anything for PractiScore to review. You don't have to look at these results if they have no meaning to you. Though there are competitors in SC who are running the same gun in multiple divisions or jut want to look at the absolute times. BTW, the PractiScore Competitor app has an option to show by-peak-times ranking similar to @jrdoran report for any SC match AND it also allows to select divisions you want to include in "Combined" results.
  9. As long as you accept that "combined" results have no real meaning for any official standing. It is there mainly for information purposes and is used by some people to assess their performance regardless of division. You can copy reports into Excel, though for tracking your own performance there isn't that much data from any given match to enter manually. The PractiScore Competitor app could help to take some burden of that manual data entry and it also show some info you may not find in the regular results. For example the % of the Peak Times for an SC stage or Time/Split charts if match used one of the Bluetooth timers to capture all the shots. It also could help to tack history of your runs across matches. See section (5) on the "Stage Info" screen and read more at https://community.practiscore.com/t/stage-info-screen-in-practiscore-competitor-app/610 Theoretically that could be added to the series support in the PractiScore scoring app. Though general interest in that is rather negligible in regards to any "official" standings (see the point above about "combined" not being official). In other words - every division competes independently. I can't say anything about apps "that would calculate this type match results by importing specific match data from or within Practiscore" and still not sure what "Practiscore" you are referring to. But some of the reports that been discussed above can be produced directly by either in the PractiScore scoring app, or in the Competitor app. And that removes some of the manual pre-processing of data you'd copy-paste from the overall match results posted on the PraciScore website. But of course not the arbitrary normalization of the match times.
  10. What exactly are you referring here? The PractiScore website? The PractiScore scoring app? Or something else? There are tools meant to be used by MDs, in order to run, score and post the match results. For example, the PractiScore scoring app. There are also several tools for competitors. The PractiScore website section with the match results is one of such tools available for free. There is also one-time paid app for iOS and Android called PractiScore Competitor that helps to keep track and analyze any match results. See more at https://community.practiscore.com/c/tools/competitor/14 Generally I won't advise it, but if you know how to run Android apps from Google Play on your desktop PC. Also can run the iOS app on an Apple computer with M1/M2 CPU. For SCSA and any other TimePlus-based scoring, the total time (plus all penalty times) is THE performance that is being measured. The percentage that you may see in some of the reports that PractiScore scoring app or PractiScore Competitor app are generating is mainly for illustrative purpose to show roughly how far your total time from the division winner is. But PractiScore Competitor app has more options for viewing or filtering results (and also works offline). You can combine arbitrary divisions, view results normalized to SCSA Peak Times and also see % of the SC Peak Times in each stage run. You can also keep track of your SC or USPSA classifier stage runs over time. Admittedly I could improve the visual representation of that (maybe add chart, etc) See https://community.practiscore.com/t/stage-info-screen-in-practiscore-competitor-app/610
  11. Not sure what you referring to here. In a regular results the percentage is simply your performance relative to the match winner. Either in the division or in combined results - all using the absolute overall time. For SCSA matches the PractiScore Competitor app has an option to rank shooters (and calculate the overall percentages) based on their performance relative to the SCSA Peak Times. You can use that to rank competitors across divisions and see who exceeded their performance at a given match. That view can be also exported into report similar to what you see on the PractiScore website and then use for copy-paste. Unfortunately this approach does not work for USPSA or other HF-scored matches, as there is no real baseline.
  12. You don't really need to do that in Excel. You can register your teams in the individual matches (even after the match is completed) and then use the PractiScore scoring app for Android to combine your matches into a series/league (it is also can be done incrementally as matches are completed). That will give you the team results in these series. See some more details at https://community.practiscore.com/t/scoring-tournament-club-league-or-match-series-in-practiscore-app-for-android/206
  13. Not yet. And see https://community.practiscore.com/t/looking-for-an-update-on-when-the-new-timers-on-the-market-will-be-approved-to-allow-direct-input-of-info-through-bluetooth/9764
  14. There are two AMG timer models. See https://www.amg-lab.com/collections/all As far as I know, the battery life for OLED model is only slightly less comparing to LCD one. I've changed batteries in LCD after a year or moderate use, but I don't have specific numbers for the OLED one.
  15. Somehow Kestrel feels even more massive than CE... Ironically, having a somewhat smaller display, the AMG still has the largest time (the same size as Kestrel)
  16. It depends what you need from your timer. And it is one of the larger timers around.
  17. There used to be standalone Classic (aka SS + Revolver) Nationals, then standalone Production Nationals. Now we have the Locap Nationals back-to back with the Optics Nationals. The new format is not encouraging at least SS, Revolver and Production divisions. People have to choose 1 out of these 3 and also have to stay at the match for almost two weeks in order to shoot 2 divisions. Previously you could shoot 4 divisions over 3 weekends spaced out within a few months. Personally I do miss that Classic Nationals match format.
  18. Why I would be changing anything if PractiScore results page already has it. Even if I had anything to do with that. Maybe it is the opposite? Because USPSA had those links their results upset people shooting those locap divisions.
  19. If PractiScore wouldn't do that, its support team would be answering non-stop questions from people who believe in what you say that either ask why people's division results aren't present or why their division aren't shown by default...
  20. Just for the record. This one is glowing in the dark and does sync with PractiScore and PractiScore Log apps. https://www.amg-lab.com/products/commander-oled-backorder in stock at https://www.ericgrauffelonlineshop.com/en/electronics/1474-66837-amg-shot-timer-oled-9384045006915.html#/14-color-black
  21. You may want to ask all PractiScore related questions at https://community.practiscore.com/categories
  22. Which part of my statement does not make sense? It is straight USPSA rule book. Maybe so, or maybe your MD or stage designers got out of ideas and they are making you shoot stages in four targets every time, or just designing stages for higher capacity divisions. With that likely case, running a higher capacity division gives you more options and allowing to take risks and do other silly stuff you can't otherwise afford on such stages... Maybe so. Most of my decade of IPSC shooting is done with 10 round mags. Still haven't got old.
  23. Any Single Stack gun and gear is compliant with Limited, L10 or Open division requirements. So as any Production gun.
  24. See, the Single Stack division is a subset of the Limited/L10/Open. But Production is not - it is a different game and you want to change that game for your own reasons or benefits. If you want to shoot Production - get the gear for division and join it or else you have several other divisions to shoot with the gear you already have. Some said no one want to shoot Production anymore. But did anyone explored why or what other divisions people are moved to or why new people aren't considering it?
