  2. LOL, You may want to listen to him. It's your ghost of gun smithing future talking. When I met him, he was just about to start gun smithing full time.
  3. I'd assume you would want to stay in Edmond as you would be closer to the range than staying in OKC. Anyway, http://www.stevesrib.com/ in Edmond for BBQ. You have places like Boulevard Steak House www.boulevardsteakhouse.com if you want a higher end steak place. Also, Hideaway Pizza http://www.hideawaypizza.com/locations.php has a location in Edmond if you want good pizza.
  4. Maybe I am. Yeah, I just ordered a holster so maybe it will be here in time. Just as long as you don't say any of those mean and hurtful things to me that you were saying to Rusty and Brad and Phil and Scott and... Umm, that's nothing compared to the crap Mitch gives poor little me. Granted, my ego starts writing checks my "skill" level can't come close to cashing.
  5. Well, your welcome, I was the guy that let you walk Thanks for the hard work, along with all the other ro's, score keepers, etc. You all had it far worse than the shooters.
  6. Well, I shot the match on Friday, and the time it took to post the final results would be my only complaint about the whole match. But I'm a computer programmer and can do such things in my sleep, unlike shooting. I personally don't know why there aren't live feeds either. Shooting sports seems to be a bit in the dark ages as far as technology is concerned for scoring. It's a minor complaint, I thought everything else was great. Now, glad to see the people from Oklahoma that kick my butt every week do so well. Makes me feel much better when I actually beat one or two of them. Now, off to practice. I only have to half my times and shoot the same score in order to beat Manny in Limited. (I don't think I can even move that fast without even shooting, lol). I'm going to work for at least a 25% improvement in times for next year. I bought an air soft gun at the match to work on those target transitions in a manner that won't bore me to death.
  7. Why? Jesse, I thought you bought a new gun when yours needed to be cleaned I sometimes take a backup. I about always take one when I'm shooting a 1911/2011. I rarely do when I'm shooting production. I'd probably bring a backup rifle to large 3-gun matches.
  8. I'm a programmer too, so I know there is no such thing as truly random when it comes to computers. I guess the thing to do would be to just rotate the start order by 1 ever stage, instead of trying random.
  9. The only issues I noticed with the palm scoring was when new people were added to a squad and a printer that couldn't get a connection from a palm (printer wasn't in a box if that matters). I could care less if Double Tap falls on easter or not. If that day means something to someone, they will probably have the option to shoot on Friday.
  10. I wanted to compete in IDPA, and found one place an hour from me that hosted idpa matches, but on a day I couldn't attend. The uspsa matches were closer and on better days. So I shot uspsa and haven't looked back.
  11. Welcome... I'll be the guy having to wear a pink shooting shirt at the matches until I learn to stop talking trash to shooters that are much better than me. Now, I'm off to practice a few things I've learned on this site.
  12. For me it was simple, there were local uspsa matches, there weren't any local idpa matches. I see quite a few new shooters at the two local uspsa matches. There are especially a lot of new shooters that show up at the monthly match at the indoor range.
  13. Well, my hybrid x-5 shot quite well and weighs the same as my sv. Other than lacking a magwell, I think it will work great.
  14. It was a pleasure beating you in both those classifiers you shot. We won't mention how many times you have beaten me.
  15. I'm guessing that the primary thing Matt would change is the weight. G-man is right. The gun is a tank. Good thing is it points well, and it's really accurate out of the box. I can't wait to get a 9mm all around and shoot at the Bianchi Cup, that will be the most accurate gun there in production. Too bad I only have 1 Sig right now... I cut an ounce out of the frame and slide, but it still comes in somewhere around 45oz. Considering I like my STI's around 36, it's a big difference. I finally prototyped a single piece recoil system for it, and I think it will help. Then you get into the issue that the magwell on it from the factory is almost as bad as not having one on there at all... Any reason you can't use the frame from a x-5 tac? The tactical weighs in at 35.5 oz. I just threw on my 9mm all around slide onto my tac frame to test out at lunch today. Thinking of using it tomorrow in a pro am match (sights are better on the all around).
  16. I ask medical professionals my medical questions, not people on a gun forum.
  17. Shouldn't you be getting bumped after your area 4 showing?
  18. I hated glocks. Started shooting uspsa and realized very quickly how little I knew. I was accurate, but could be timed on a sun dial. So, I took a class at tdsa tulsa. I then shot a glock a few weeks after my class. It was awesome. I shot a glock 23 better than i was shooting my xd 9 tac. Just loved the way the sights tracked.
  19. I went the buy a used gun route. Perhaps I'll build one someday after I actually know what I want. My assumption being I won't know what I want until I actually shoot limited for a while.
  20. I run 17lb hammer / mainspring. Anything less hasn't worked for me 100% so isn't worth the tiny amount of trigger pull improvement.
