  1. No modifications necessary, I load on a Dillo 650. I use a .38/.357 sizing and powder die and only use a 9mm taper crimp die. My ammo is 130 gr Montana Gold bullets with 4.6 gr Universal Clays, Federal 100 primer at 1.100" oal and a TIGHT crimp. (yes this marks th bullet jacket) This is 1100 fps and is a super clean burn leaving ZERO unspent powder. I can shoot 12 stages without cleaning my gun even once.
  2. Go to www.blade-tech.com and order the holster and Tek Lok moon clip holders. I have been shooting revo in IPSC since 1995 and this is the best set up I have found. Don;t be afraid of plastic, it is smooter, faster, and cannot wear out. Get your 625 full moon clips from Ranch Products, 100 for $25+ shipping
  3. Eddie made several good points. I would like to see some "purity" of He-Man rules be adopted by all. My 2 cents says .308 or bigger rifle with optics, stay with a pump and 00 Buck, and shoot a real pistol....a 6 shot .45 or bigger revolver! All ammo MAJOR
  4. First take off your side cover and add some oil on the pivot points. Next remove your grip and tighten the starin screw on your leaf spring. Lastly, only shoot Federal 150 primers for reliable ignition. E-mail me off list if you need more help at thesahlberg7@webtv.net Bill Sahlberg
  5. Area 2 had 11 revolver shooters this past November and 401 shooters! That is the best turnout that I have ever competed in including 6 Nationals since 1996! Hopefully ths small division will grow again in USPSA with the advent of some favorable rules (.38 Super or Special or .38 Colt short can now be major) Real revo competitions are with ICORE and you have to go tho California or Arizona to find alot of good matches.
  6. AWESOME 3 GUN MATCHES TO ATTEND IN 2004 March 2004 is the Superstition 3 Gun in Mesa, AZ June 2004 is the MGM Ironman 3 Gun in Boise, ID, Area 1 in Bend, OR & Nats in Reno, NV July 2004 is the Wily Coyote 3 Gun in Whitebird, ID and the Inland Empire 3 Gun Championships in Coeur d'Alene, ID August 2004 is the DPMS Tri-Gun in St. Cloud, MN
  7. Benny is right, any speedloader will get you into open class. However, I have successfully used the Aquila #4 short shells (1-3/8"OAL) in my Mossberg 590 pump by dumping 2 shells on the loading gate and pushing them in faster with two more. I can hold 6 shorty's in one hand and it feels like 3 regualr shotshells. For Open Class the Tec Loaders will hold 6 shorty's and load faster than 4 regular shells.
  8. You can remove the ball detents or remove the material leadiing to them. The only purpose these serve is for a tighter lock-up on the yoke. The rear ejection rod / hammer safety holds the cylinder in the year, the ball detents really serve no other purpose. Circle cyclers rule!
  9. I have a slightly used professionall built Bianchi 6 plate rack if you are interested in buying or trading for it. Contact me at 509.924.7230
  10. Major is better, however shooting A's with better gun handling skill works too. I have won 3 Area 1 Top Revolver Trophies and the 1998 Open Nats Top Revolver and 1999 Limited Nats all shooting minor(BTW, Jerry Miculek was not shooting at any of these events) A's is what it is all about with a wheelgun...I proved it 5 times :-)
  11. The moon clips I have used in 25 years have never varied. The spring kit will help and if you have the newer style tranfer bar to an isolated firing pin type, you can get a longer firing pin (+.0015") from Brownell's. You will need snap caps to dry fire with this oversized pin but you can also tweek your strain screw and get a much lighter trigger pull. The Federal primers are not a suggestion but a MUST DO! Your best solution to your revolver with or without any gunsmithing is 1,000s of rounds of practice and pulling that trigger so it feels natural. My trigger pulls heavier than the #7 butit goes bang every single time. Lighter is not better when you make your gun into a smooth "klickenboomer". (click, click, boom, click, boom, click boom, boom, click boom, boom :-)
  12. In open class anything goes, .38 Special or .38 Colt Short, as long as it chronos at 165pf you ARE major. Now if you are shooting Revolver division the case MUST be stamped .357 but there is no restiction on case length....yet. Shorten a headstamped .357 case and make 165 pf you are now legal. If you shoot any other case not marked .357 you wil be shooting minor. Bill Sahlberg L1283
  13. I bought my SR-25 in 1992 and got the one "waffled" mag with the gun that worked fine. I purchased more SR-25 mags that were the new style non- waffled type and all have run 100%. My friends AR-10 is half the cost but is not nearly as accurate or reliable and has been back to Armalite 4 times for various roblems and he has less than 3,000 rnds fired. I too had to send my rifle back after having repeated doubles and Knight's sent it back with a new trigger system at no cost other than my shipping. I have more metal non waffled SR-25 20 rnd mags in the original cosmoline wrappers if anybody wants to buy them.
  14. I have been to many Area 1 Championships, Sectional matches, and 5 Nationals and have not been DQ'd shooting or reloading my revolver. However, I keep my muzzle downrange while I am reloading just like the rules specify. Break the rules and you have to pay the consequences. I haven't pointed my muzzle up since the "old day" of PPC. If you point your gun over the berm even with the cylinder open you are only asking for trouble. My idea of spending $100-$300 on match fees, $500 on travel, another $300 on Hotel, $250 on a rent a car not including food and drink and getting a DQ is NOT my idea of a "fun" time.
