  1. It is a nice looking gun!! The problem is Witnesses tend to be undervalued as the plain garden variety ones sell for low prices. What you have is a premium gun for which you paid a preimum price. People will tend to think you are over priced because they saw one of the lesser guns in the same caliber for much less on-line. In order to get what you need to have out of it you need the right buyer and they ARE out there just a bit hard to find. You will probably need to go as National as possible with; Guns America Auction Arms Gun Broker Arms List I know you don't to start an account with a on-line Auction Site but to get a decent price will very likely take some time and effort. Maybe have one of your buddies with an account help you on GB.
  2. I just bought one of these; http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=297197023 Full size Tanfoglio in 9MM now need some high cap magazines. Is there anything I need to avoid and who has the best prices???
  3. Do you have one or are you interested in possibly getting on or just curious? I own one and have never shot groups with it yet but it puts holes where I aim it. I use it for IDPA, Action Pistol competition and plinking and really like it. Handles 10mm loads well with very manageable recoil but I mainly shoot .40 S&W in mine.
  4. I am looking at the Kydex holster for the witness in the EAA catalog - does anyone have one of these?? Does it have a strap to hold the gun or does it snap-in like an Uncle Mikes kydex? What I'd like to find is an decent kydex or leather holster for my full size .45 Witness in the $50.00 - $70.00 price range.
  5. Here are a couple of things I have seen on GunBroker that you might find helpful; http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=286332485 There are several of these floating around on the net which appear to be Israieli trade-ins and if good shooters would also be a piece of history. I don't see any import markings. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=286193150 Century Arms Import from the same Vendor.
  6. I am considering a 9mm longslide conversion kit for my .45 steel frame witness. Can anyone tell me how much fitting might be needed? I have read that magazines might be problematic and certain ones might need shims and/or bullets seated to a particular O.A.L. which is not a problem.
  7. A couple of Questions; Does the .200 work with the factory rear on a model 617 and how long would it take to get a .200 red fiber optic??
  8. This is the program I saw; http://www.soft-collection.com/#SoftCollection%20Shooting-Range. It lacks a timer but is a start and I am sure it is possible to make something like it with a timer and other features.
  9. Ardo!! You are my hero!!!! I saw and even downloaded that program last year but lost it before getting a LT Pro! Have been searching all over my computers and the web for the past two weeks for it. If it just had a timer or even a sound generator so it could interact with a shooting timer it would be the best thing since the torx head screw and ribbed condom. Edit - just watched the video and it does seem to generate sounds so it might be possible to use with a timer. Can't wait to try it!!!!!!!!
  10. Reload Target Down for the WII (and also the PC) is a great shooting simulator. Lots of fun, helps your hand-eye coordnation and is the closest thing to a actual match for the WII. Can be had for $15.00 -$20.00. http://www.gamespot.com/reload-target-down
  11. I wish they would have fashioned a switch on it but if you are willing to order them on the internet they can be had reasonably. http://www.amazon.com/Energizer-377-376-Silver-Batteries/dp/B000RB1R1I/ref=pd_sim_sg_1 I got some of these when I ordered the unit on Amazon. The price of $4.79 is for TEN batteries. http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-X-AG4-GA4-D377-L626-SR-626-Watch-Battery-E100-/180775753201?pt=US_Batteries&hash=item2a171315f1 I have had good luck buying button cells on ebay too. Lots of vendors with great prices!! Some times flea market vendors will have good prices on cards of batteries too.
  12. I got one of these about a week ago and love it! For those of you who have one and like it what are some drills/uses you are putting it to?? So far I have been doing par time drills with my Pact timer.
  13. Ardo - Where do you get the floor mats you use?? I have been using these (the impact seal targets) which I get at WalMart; http://www.do-alltraps.com/targeting.html They are nice for rifle shooting at long distances because they react well, are durable and you don't have walk out to reset them. Cost is reasonable too! Anyone know of a source for this type of material?
  14. I am wanting a program to use with a Laserlyte LT (http://www.laserlyte.com/products/lts-pro)and a webcam. The webcam would look at the target, produce a start signal and display the hits on the target and the times. A few months I saw a free program that I think does this and downloaded it but now am having trouble finding it. My Lasetlyte LT arrived yesterday and I am very impressed with it so far. Another program that would be useful would make a audible noise when a webcam detected a hit. The webcam would be close to and behind a defuser like a thin sheet of paper or covered with a white styrafoam cup (cup is target) the idea being to aid the Laserlyte LT to work well with a shooting timer.
  15. A question for Carmoney if he is still reading; How has the gun held up since you started this thread?? I am thinking about one mainly as a cheap 1911 in 9mm for a range toy for the collection. If it ran well I would probably slowly build it up for a limited gun. Because of the price I don't expect much but is it worth using as a base gun to build up or does it wear and develop problems quickly?
  16. Perfect timing for this thread to arise as I am seriously considering one - started a thread yesterday. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=137026
  17. Anyone have experience with one of these?? http://centerfiresystems.com/AC-RI1911-9MM-HCTT.aspx I am considering one to add a 1911 in 9MM to my collection. I would not be expecting much for the money and have read 9MM Hi Cap 1911s can be problematic from a reliability stand point. Never owned a RIA 1911 but have read many good things about them.
  18. Would the PowerSpeed work with a Glock?? From what I understand they rely partially on magnets and I have read a lot of negative things about them. But those who are dissatisified tend to crow louder than those who ate satisified.
  19. I've been considering that as Blade Tech makes a nice holster for guns with lights that would work. I also have been considering having Talon Tactical make a custom Kydex holster for me. They have done so in the past and been very pleased.
  20. So far the C-R Speed seems to be the best value at About $120 at Brownells. I'm not looking for "cheap" but am looking for the best value. The Mec Arms may or may not be a decent holster but it will not work with a Glock or M&P for that matter.
  21. If I had it to do again I would have gotten a KKM or Storm Lake barrel as this barrel was a disaster form the start about 5 years ago. When I got it the wrong barrel was in the package. I tried to return it to the big Glock parts distributor in Florida where I purchased it but they have a "no returns for any reason" policy and sent me to the manufacturer. So I sent it there. They agreed they had put the wrong barrel in the package and would replace it in two or three months when they made some more 10mm to 40 S&W conversion barrels. This was a normal length barrel and I thought a compensated barrel might be cool. They had those in stock and would send me one once I sent them a money order for the $15.00 price difference plus $5.00 shipping!! I was not happy but did it anyway - needless to say I would not recommend their barrels or company. The problem with this barrel is it is a copy of the 10mm barrel with a 40 S&W chamber. I believe in order for it to feed correctly the feed ramp needs to be designed to reflect the fact that the model 20 was designed for a longer cartridge and the feed ramp dimensions need to accomidate this difference. Loading plated bullets long works well but I like to shoot cast bullets which causes some problems as the throat is tight and would need to be reamed. I don't want to do that so I have used a counter sink bit to elongate a Lee 175gr TL mold by about .14". It now casts at 195gr and feeds well. I doubt there is a follower I will find for a different magazine that will fit and will work but am open to suggestions as I don't know much about Glock magazines for various models.
  22. I have a G20 10mm and a EFK Fire dragon 40 S&W conversion barrel. The gun won't run properly unless I load jacketed or plated bullets to 10mm length where it runs well. Is there a follower for another magazine that I could use in my 10mm mags which would seat the cartridges about enough further forward that it could cycle standard length 40 S&W cartridges??
  23. My optic mount is a Mako mount which attaches to the accessory rail. At the moment I am looking at the CR Speed for $69.00 shipped. I have looked at the Hogue PowerSpeed hloster but would not consider it as I have talked to people who didn't have good experiences with them. Have read many bad things about the Hogue holster too. CR Speed seems to have a pretty good reputation.
  24. I am using a Glock 20 with an EFK Firedragon compensated barrel and Mako optic mount as an open gun. Can anyone recommend a decent holster?? I'd like to keep the cost down but have a workable and safe holster.
