  1. I have a few Les Baers and I'm thinking of selling my 99% out of 100% condition P2 Super Tac. Is this a gun that popular at all in single stack? Thanks, Jeff
  2. OK more info. First off I screwed up my first post. It shoots 14" LOW (below POA) at 25 yards, I originally put high and noticed it when I read Steve RA's post and thought that ain't right. My first post hs been corrected. Thanks for the Dawsons tip they had a great PDF on there to calculate the sight height. Using Dawsons formula my front sight (I'm a rifle guy can I call it a post?) needs to be 70 thousandths shorter. Based on my lack of knowledge and questionable measuring that would make the correct front sight height 90 thousandths. There is no way I can have that short a front sight there will be almost nothing there right. So my rear is too short right? But unless I'm missing something you can't specify the height of the rear. I really don't care to go to an adjustable but is that my only option?
  3. I have just managed to trade up to a Springfield 1911 PX9801LP which is basically the 3" 1911. I ran around 200 rounds of different ball ammo and it functioned fine no failures at all. I was a little concerned about a 3" 1911 but not now. The problem is however it shoots a good 12" low at 25 yards with a COM hold. Since the factory night sights are dim anyway I am willing to buy new sights for it and I really don't need or want to bother with night sights. I'm wondering though if new sights will fix the problem. It's possible that some previous owner just put on a new rear and kept the front and that's why its shooting high but how do I know when I order sights? Is there anyone on here that's could figure this out for me? I live a whole 5 miles from Rio so I'm available or open to suggestions. I also just want a simple fixed 3 white dot setup no adjustable nothing complicated. TIA, Jeff
  4. Try: Ebay.com http://salem.backpage.com/SportsEquipForSale/ http://salem.craigslist.org/ I have got a few good deals from garage sales. Got a Redding BR powder measure for $5 and a Rock Chucker for $15. Nothing at all wrong with a used press and I load all my rifle sigle stage. Jeff
  5. My daughter was started the same a G-ManBart when she was 13. All I had at the time was a 1911 and she loved it. When we moved to AZ and were closer to a range she went to our range's Jr. Smallbore program. The first time she shot a .22 she was 'What the.........'. Jeff
  6. Community center?? Geez mine was in the target shed.......... Jeff
  7. Today's word is................. Fluctuations. At the bank there was a short line. An Asian lady was trying to exchange yen for dollars. It was obvious she was a little irritated . . . She asked the teller, "Why it change? Yesterday, I get two hunat dolla fo yen. Today I only get hunat eighty? Why it change?" The teller shrugged his shoulders and said, "Fluctuations." The Asian lady says, "Fluc you white people too"
  8. Nothing cleans off oil or grease like clean oil or grease.............. Jeff
  9. If you dont have a case guage you can keep turning down the sizing die a little bit at a time until the case will fit into the chamber far enough for the bolt to lock. The way to do this is to removes the upper and strip the bolt to remove the ejector and ejector spring so the the bolt will insert into the locking lugs and turn easily. Jeff
  10. +1 on the G17. Cheapest to shoot. Jeff
  11. It's nice to see an inexpensive scope with a decent reticle. Jeff
  12. What exactly is a 'for the kids rifle' for? At our range they have a Jr. Smallbore I think it's 12 and up. They go through the NRA Version of Junior Distinguished for smallbore. If this is what your looking at you can look at the Jr. Division page at http://www.riojuniors.com/ . If you like PM me I'll send you contact info for the director Ed. He's a real nice guy I'm sure he will do what he can to help. Jeff
  13. Go buy an after market spring or call Glock and have them send you an 02 (if it isn't already). Jeff
  14. I have had the most consistant results (40 degrees here in the winter 115 in the summer) with Varget. I use 24.3, Rem 7 1/2, 77hpbt, LC. Jeff
  15. If you can't do 200 i'd do fifty. If you look at any ballistics program you'll see that 50 and 200 are about the same as far as zeros go. Jeff
  16. I'd add to that to take a single stage press out to the range and start with a load and shoot 10 rounds, load ten more +.2 grains and shoot them, etc. My experience doing this is that you at some point you'll start getting tighter 10 shot groups then at some point the 10 round groups will open up again. Jeff
  17. Didn't consider the Android Captivate? I had an iPhone and this new Captivate is tons better. Jeff
  18. +1 77 SMK + TAC pretty much same reasons max weight for mag length. Jeff
  19. +1 on a used 1100. Get 12ga not 20ga otherwise you'll end up buying a 12ga down the road. Used 1100s here in AZ are around $450. Make sure you find one with removable chokes. Modified isn't optimal and getting it reamed or threaded to IC is just more expense. Semi-Auto will be a lot easier recoil than an over-under. You don't want a pump for trap/skeet/clays. Jeff
  20. Malwarebutes and AVG (free.grisoft.com) Jeff
  21. You can buy most of those types of keys on EBay much cheaper and then have someone locally (like ACE) program them. Jeff
  22. I've seen live ammo disposed of in bulk by putting it in a dutch oven with a clamp on lid and putting that on a propane stove out in a field a cooking it off. Jeff
  23. MarkCO, Yep just had to push down harder to stuff the last one in. Jeff
