  1. There I fixed it for you. Not all 4.25 9mms have good accuracy. None of the 4.25s (3 total) that I owned could keep 10 shots on a sheet of paper at 25 yards.
  2. 5" .40 M&P not approved for production at this time.
  3. For pure accuracy, try just the slow fire portions of The Humbler
  4. Did you have anyone else give them a spin? Yes. Others did give them a spin. With over 10,000 rounds thru my primary M&P I never was sure if it was me or the gun. Had several friends who shoot better than me try them with the exact same results. Those pistols would not hold minute of sheet of paper at 25 yards. I shot a friends Glock and held under 2" at 25 yards. Immediately realizing that it was not me, but it was indeed the pistols. Bought that Glock and even more after that. They all shoot 2" or better at 25 yards. I love the ergo's of the M&P. I know some M&Ps shoot accurately, but enough don't, that I won't buy another without being able to shoot it first. I've known three other shooters that have dropped M&Ps because of the lack of accuracy. Substantial enough for me!
  5. i think i've heard same issues with 4.25" If you chase those reports, you won't find them to be substantial. Hmmmm, of all three fullsize (4.25" barrel) M&Ps that I used to own, not one would shoot under 6" at 25 yards for 5 rounds. I'd call that substantial.
  6. If I were to start with a fresh sear for custom modification, it would be one from Kenny at Speed Shooters Specialties. He sells a CNC tool steel replacement that pretty much matches the standard factory sear.
  7. NRA range is closed to the public on Tuesdays. Thursday's it's open 5pm - 10pm Blue Ridge is a little furthur west and Sharpshooter's is a little south (their range might be closed for renovations right now). Furthur south "The Range" in Stafford may have a mid week match of some sort.
  8. Randy at Apex at one time told me that they drill the hole 0.235" depth measured from the inner flat.
  9. Simply to tell which machine made them.
  10. A Massachusetts compliant trigger return spring would add about 1.5 to 2.0 pounds.
  11. Could be the spring is kinked. Does the striker block depress and return smoothly? I would probably just take the rear sight off and inspect the spring and spring cap. Because of the timing involved if the sear was really messed up it may be that the striker block got damaged from the striker hitting it. Inspect and replace if necessary.
  12. There's your problem. Put original sear back in (or Apex sear) and use the original sear plunger spring.
  13. My local store carries these. I bought them on sale at a great price. With a little treatment from a heat gun they work well.
  14. Pretty sure the Apex FSS Trigger is NOT legal for production in USPSA. From Randy himself.
  15. S&W makes a Massachusetts specific trigger return spring that will add about 2.1 pounds. The Apex duty TRS will add about 1.5 pounds.
  16. What was the criteria that made 9 ounces the target slide weight? Is it something that has worked for you before or is there some other science behind that choice?
  17. Stick with the stock recoil spring.
  18. I would not bench rest a polymer pistol that way. Put your wrists on the sandbag and get a good grip with only your hands touching the pistol. I would try other ammo than WWB. You should get better than 10". Btw, I would think an STI Sentry should do better than 4"-5". Perhaps relative to each other, your results might be OK?
  19. The Pro sear is actually a different sear from the normal sears.
  20. For that price you normally get just the striker. Best bet is to call them or email them. They will answer questions. (If it includes everything it's a great deal).
  21. Good on you! I actually bought a spare for each of my M&P's.
  22. S&W has no obligation to replace a perfectly fine working part. If you need piece of mind, just purchase a new one and keep the old one as a spare.
