I too have fallen victim to the primary gun failure syndrome at a local match.. more than once. 1- I grabbed up everything to shoot the local match and did not pay attention to the ammo.. well grabbed the wrong box.. usally not a problem but I had left the gun that it goes at home... Ie: open gun to shoot grabbed limited ammo left the limited gun at home.. luckly the range that I had went is ran by a good friend and the gunsmith that I use.. well long story short I was able to use his wifes s*i pistol to shoot with.. WoW this was a change of pace from my para's ... 2- shooting a single stack only style match.. showed up with a lighty used springfield 45 ww model.. did some light mods to it.. added new thumb saftey hammer/sear, trigger and magwell . and had shot it out at the family farm to make sure everything was in tune.. nothing a miss UNTIL I went to the match.. and U guessed it upchuck city .. would not run, FTE main problem.. well talked to the match Dir. he had no problem with me switching to a back up that I brought different cal. but Ran like a champ... Back up guns are great not only for you but for our fellow shooters also.. I have since tried to bring at least Two pistols and complete rigs to shoot with because we never know when a Holster will go Bad toooo or when some one forgets there's at home.... should not be a problem with Para mags... since they are using the same mags for the P18... but I have not had any in hand to check them out.. like most have said New barrel / Slide ? / tune extractor and ejector.. Good Luck in your Future Build....

if the main spring is cut it may have been the one that was in the ILS mainspring housing.. they use a shorter mainspring in them becase of the locking works.. I know because I just bought a GI springer and switched out the mainspring housing with a S&A and I noticed that is was shorter. Shoot it first and see where it is hitting may be just fine as a starter pistol...

I have a Caspian Commander Hybrid cut slide and now have a KKM commander threaded barrel. My question is will this set up work. ?? with the slide being cut... and wanting to run bull barrel with comp.. Thanks for any and all input... here are some pics. , , Thanks for all the input so Far....

OK I bought three mags today, was told they were for a 38 super para.... I knew that they had a good look about them BUT !!! was not sure... OK in picture left - right para 38, New Mag ?? , Sti 45 170mm looking at the sti 170 it looks like that mag was made by sti... ok, now look at how much longer it is (para) .. Is this a 140 mm or some where inbetween... with the arrendondo pad I can get 24 rounds in it.. So Folks my questions am I right about this being a STI (para) 140mm? mag. Thanks Guys ** Ok I found a old Dawson Catalog that had the mag dimensions listed and what I have is 3 post ban 140 mm mags... ** I had a +1 bawson pad and it gave me 22 rnd, so after reading the catalog the +2 pad should give me the 24 rnd, Now off to figure what I can sell, hock or trade for some pads..

I have had great results with Power Pistol... running a 124 with with 7.5 ( I think) my load book is upstaris in the reloading room .. I am running a full 5.5 inch barrel with Craig 7 port Comp.. I have not noticed a large report , but then again I do not have any barrel ports.. Just the comp... will chase down the notes and edit later...

Yo Big Dave I have Heard of them .. even had the chance to see them in concert.. they played with the Haunted, Dimmu Borgir, Canabel Corpse.. Damn good show then I was able to meet Glen Benton of Deciede. but the BEST was working the Stage and going on the tour bus of Otep... Can We Say WoW.... and there was several others that came through that I was able to watch and meet .

I first did a search of the us patent and in that link was one of them... turns out you have to registar to use the service... when all done I typed the patent number in and it gave all the information... who , when , where and so forth....

Hmmmm I do not know where you did your search at ... But I just placed a patent search and came up with all the correct info on the pistol barrel patent information... Date of patent was June 23 1992. and I like Mr Heiter would like to know what Camera you were using .. The wife told me that we can invest in one major item at tax time next year and we are both wanting a New Camera. Not to HiJack the thread.... Too bad mine is a short gun with two blow holes on it! There's no more room to move the scope back + mine is a C-more. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well the Main jest of my post was in reference too the Rob Leathem Picture, If you are indeed eating scope mounts up then the obvious thing to do is do away with them... and go Docter... as in the picture.... Hint Hint shrug shrug

is this a case where a picture is worth a thousand words..... after reading the post it would be my thought too .. get the scope away from the holes period.... Good Luck in your search...
