  1. Congrats John. I can only second what Steve said. Dry fire will get you there. Or, as Rob Leatham put it: "There's a lot more to shooting than the noisy part"
  2. Wow Steve. Very interesting thoughts. I mentioned in the thread where you said you were going to make new thread about emotionless shooting, that I had been thinking about the same thing. I found that if I get all pumped up before a stage, the performance becomes erratic. Sometimes good, sometimes very bad. It definately has everything to do with "wanting". When I go to a match, I try to think I'm the only competitor there, to get in the mindstate of "not wanting". I've found that my weakness is, that I think it's very important what other people think of my performance. I just have one question for you. When I thought of shooting without emotion, I thought that also meant taking all the fun out of the moment you're shooting. How do you feel about this? Is it possible to separate the emotions you get from bad/good performance from the emotions of enjoying the shooting experience?

Cool guns are fun to shoot. And when you have fun doing what you do, you become better much faster than not liking what you do, right? Duane, a 210 would be a great ESP gun.
  4. Dude, that's fast! LOL, what's next we can do under two seconds?
  5. Thanks guys I must say that frequent visits to this forum in combination with "the holy book of shooting" (also known as Practical Shooting, beyond fundamentals) pays off
  6. Something that has helped me was watching Saul Kirsh draw his gun. First of all, his reaction to the timer is fast. And when he draws, the part to where the hands meet is really fast. It's like he gets his hands there as fast as he can and doesn't worry about perfecting his grip until he gets both hands on the gun and extends. I started working on this myself, and my draw times went down dramatically.
  7. Steve, I'd be interested. I've been playing around with the emotionless shooting too for some time now.
  8. Congratulations! That's great news!
  9. Steve and Adrie, thanks for the kind words. Hell yeah!
  10. Flex: Thanks. Yeah, I know I was doing something different, but I still can't figure out what. Arvid: Don't tell them my other 5 tries sucked. It'll put some pressure on them. eerw: Thanks. LOL, I still consider myself a big fat novice. I just worked pretty hard on my draw (dryfire), and worked my butt off dryfiring the gun as fast as I can without disturbing the sight picture.
  11. Well, I guess it ain't much, but it made me happy for a minute or two. I have struggled with my revolver splits. They wouldn't go below .30, I practiced. They wouldn't go below .25, I practiced some more. I tried a couple of Bill Drills tonight. Third run: Draw: 0.91 Split: 0.22 Split: 0.22 Split: 0.21 Split: 0.22 Split: 0.20 All A's at 7y. For a nice 1.98s Bill Drill. Now I can't wait for that first .19 split.
  12. LMAO, Patrick, you're puttin' some things in perspective here...
  13. wide45, what I meant by that was that I don't have a problem with 9 round arrays. I'll do the standing reloads. What I hate is a 7 round array, followed by a 7 round array, followed by a 7 round array. That's making it extra hard on revo guys in my opinion. There is (at least to me) a big difference in making a stage "revolver friendly" and making a stage "less of a pain in the neck for revolver guys". Ya follow?
  14. Would anyone notice a swap ?
  15. Yeah, that's the tricky thing. He is. http://perso.club-internet.fr/grauffel/vid...mblade_2003.avi Sometimes he is the best and looks like the best as well
  16. Dunno about USPSA, but IPSC basically says: - .354 bullet - no external mods except cylinder latch, sights, grips (plating, checkering etc. allowed) - aftermarket barrels if same lenght as factory - can only shoot 6 rounds before reload
  17. I think the problem with the N-frames for most people is not the size, but the weight. Especially with the 610 (50 oz.!!!). You could go for a lightened 625. 4"barrel and mill off the underlug. Or as Bill says, a 4"mountaigun (they are hard to find though.
  18. Tightloop, you might take a look at a standard S&W 625 4" .45ACP. The older ones are still around (without the lock). One reason I would stick to a 625 is the moonclips. The 625 moonclips are cheap. 10mm and .38 super clips are expensive. Plus, I personally think a .45 reloads faster (those holes are pretty big). You can shoot .40's in the 610 10mm BTW. I have no experience with reloading .45 ACP to 125 PF, so I can't help you there, but it seems you know your way around reloading the .45 better than me anyway . You might ask the folks on www.smith-wessonforum.com if they've seen the gun you want for sale somewhere.
  19. It probably means you have to use more powder. Check the diameter of both projectiles. The plated one might be smaller in diameter.
  20. Yeah, that would make for a nice clean gun. I was serious though. I like the way it looks now. Probably not if I would look at the sight picture though . I've been there. Colt fixed sights suck.
  21. Nice guns. I think the G19 is really cute The Lim-10 blatser is very stylish, with the fixed sights. Looks like a real workhorse.
  22. Ron, I know what you're feeling. My vision is deteriorating too and I'm only 25 . It just sucks. BTW, Rhino is right (IMHO ). Even Eric G. closes one eye when shooting targets that are more than 12 yards away. So lets just say that you can be a reasonably good shooter when you shoot like that
  23. I think it is unreasonable to put an emphasis on designing 6 round neutral stages. You'll take all the fun out of standing reloads . Plus the open and standard shooters will be pissed, 'cause you'll slow their game down. First boost the number of revolver shooters. 3% is not enough. I chose revolver class and everything that came with it (including standing reloads). You are competing against other revolver shooters, not against shooters in open or limited/standard. I do think stage designers could consider the fact that revolver shooters have to shoot stages differently and shouldn't make it extra hard for the revo guys.
