  1. I disagree with the vast majority and think the McCormick is a better trigger for the masses. JP is very finicky if you dont lock tite the set screws. I have seen people in major matches have trigger problems due to this. I havnt tried the jp drop in yet, I will soon and might have to re-evaluate my decision. In conclusion, if you want a drop in trigger and just shoot with no hassle get the McCormick. P.S. Chip has done a few things for the sport of shooting also.
  2. I think Cheryl has a great point, most of the major matches are in the late summer or fall besides mystery mountain, why doesnt someone/club in a fairly mild climate put on a match in april/may time frame.
  3. If you start making the match fee's $500 then we see who has money to play. Making 3 gun a rich mans sport isnt what its all about.
  4. Honestly i say total time plus penalties is better than percentage. OH wait, here we go again............... LOL
  5. i had fun doing trooper class at the Cav arms match this year, my pack weighed about 75lbs due to all the ammo, but you can take off your pack while you shoot, some ranges you have to carry all your equipment from stage to stage anyways, this was alot of fun and look forward doing it again next year.
  6. The training we received from Tactical Response INC was top notch, instructors new their stuff, I would highly reccomend them. James/Dave/Larry/Chris/Yancy all were great instructors.
  7. Go get em Russel. Arrrgggghhhh!!! You know whats sending the wrong idea to people about 3 gunning, is people who have no common sense. People who are sitting back and acting like sheep, people who let the elitists(grand masters) run our sport, we'll never get new shooters in if we keep the same ideas as we had when wheel guns were popular(before semi autos) If your scared of what people are gonna think or what are image is, take up basket weaving, we are shooting guns for christs sake!!!!!
  8. I'm considering the ITRC match in 06, but have heard a few negative things, I would like to hear from people who have attended and if they would go back and shoot or will never go and shoot it again. Please explain why you would or wouldnt do this match. Im not going to post the rumors I have heard, because hopefully they're rumors and I want first hand info from the shooters. Logisitcally this is a hard match to make and the very next weekend make Rocky mountain 3 gun, so Im trying to justify almost 2 weeks off and the money to get to both. Thank you.
  9. Platinum, are you saying get rid of the "D" zone? thats an interesting concept and i like it. I dont like power factor, you cant tell me a .40 cal is gonna be that much more effective than a 9mm. Plus design stages so it takes out the power factor, if someone wants to cheat, they'll pay in the long run. Transitioning firearms is great. Im not sure what the stance USPSA takes on this. Pistol always being hot is ideal also(as long as your the shooter) finishing a stage when you have a malfunction is what its all about, DNF sucks As for no race guns, i'm all for it, but there still is a lot of people who shoot them. Outlaw matches for me.
  10. This works with pistol only, try knocking down a larue target at 125yds with puff loads. It just wont happen with anything less than a factory .223. I tend to disagree, if you have a rifle thats not properly zeroed, in a timeplus match, your screwed, total time. In the USPSA world if you blow one stage you still have a chance at winning/placing higher than total time match. So how does that promote accuracy. I think what the majority of the people want is the consistancy in rules, MGA, USPSA or the pirate ships like CAV and MGM. ARRGGH Bruce, also dont think this is USPSA bashing, its not, you/they do a good job in pistol matches. I just think more people are liking the MGA rules with 2 hits or 1 A alot more. make a new post and do some research as to why Mystery mountain fills up in 3 days, is it due to our weather here in AZ, our range staff, our the type of rules and kind of match it is? I think you'll be surprised. Best regards.
  11. First rule change is the stupid power factor. If someone wants to shoot .223 thats down loaded so be it, they will be the ones taking a risk of not knocking down steel, poor consistency at longer ranges. Second is the scoring, makes more sense and easier to score if you have one A zone or two hits on paper. Third is a personal choice, but I like to wear my thigh rig and since Im not military nor law enforcement, by USPSA rules I cant wear one(unless changed in the past year), Most of these holsters give you no time advantage and have some type of locking system, therefore its safer than some of the other holsters on the market. Those are some of the rules that keep some people from shooting uspsa 3 gun matches. One last thing, I would like to see HM class be turned into Trooper class, if your not familiar with this, go see how much fun people had at MGM 3 gun and Cav Arms 3 gun in Waco.
  12. I personally dont like the USPSA 3 gun rules, thats why i dont go to many of them. Measuring myself against the best isnt why Im in the sport, i challenge myself against my own skill level and try to become better. And... last years mystery mountain competitors like, Taran Butler, Bennie Cooley, Miller brothers, Benny Hill, David Neth, matty burkett, mike voight, jake kempton, jerry miculek, Eddie rhodes, kelly neal, etc... etc... I think these are some of the best 3 gun shooters in the world, and Mystery mountain isnt a USPSA match. I know your trying not to compare the two, but USPSA needs to make some rule changes on 3 gun.
  13. i would like to see them go head to head. i know where i'd be!!
  14. could someone copy and paste results for us non-uspsa members.
  15. These posts are getting no where, If anyone has a problem, they should contact that person, do it face to face. I have met Benny several times, I dont know him personally, seems like a great guy, very reasonable too, Benny call Shawn and take care of this off the public forum, mods are changing posts, deleting posts and adding their own 2 cents in. We were all there and know what went down, it was a misfortunate event and lets learn from it, deal with it and move on. Now where the hell is the next 3 gun match??????
  16. Im off to join the CAV boys, shooting on wed/thur and RO'in the weekend, hope to see all of you there.
  17. I strongly disagree with downloading mags. I have all USGI mags, and never once downloaded them. matte of fact I usually put a barney bullet in. if you want to replace springs/followers, I like the magpul followers, but check other things first, definately try some other mags, different manufacturers or try your mags on another gun.
  18. Bob, good to see you could make it, we missed ya saturday. email inbound!!!
  19. I have more body mass to put stuff on my rig than my brother, so do you think thats an advantage??
  20. I'm voting for Zak, hes well known in Japan and other international places. Watch out for his kung-fu style shooting..
