  1. What Cheryl said, Tactical shooters should get plaques too!!
  2. lots of people dropped out, couldnt or wouldnt brave the elements, of the 4 scheduled stages we were suppose to shoot today, we barely got done with 3, lots of others only did 1 or 2. I am shooting terrible, lots of mental errors, just because i want to get it over with to get back to the warm truck. Banquet was even a short lived one tonight, good dinner, but not worth it to me. Hopefully results will be in immediately tomorrow.
  3. Dan, not sure i bought it used, still havnt installed it, practicing for mystery mountain 3 gun too much.
  4. Where Raton is, its easier to drive from phx, we all(CAV) did it last year and it wasnt bad, we took turns between 3 of us, i think it was like 10-11 hours. Not sure if we are shooting it this year, we have 2 other matches in the same month. DPMS in Minn. and the Tactical Rifle match at Raton.
  5. There is a public range for zeroing rifles before the match, range closes at 5pm, so get there zero your rifle and then go register on thursday.
  6. lol i know, but didnt want to jump to conclusions on the stages. I would assume that its right around the 300 yd mark. Maybe one of the match gurus can answer this better than I.
  7. I just got a shilen trigger in the mail today, will install it this week and post how it does. looking forward to something new and lighter.
  8. Bob L, did a great job, my comments were directed on the hardness(memory stages), which is fine for an USPSA match, but not a 3 gun match. When Grand masters and Master class shooters scratch their head and say a stage is hard, how do you think a C or D class shooter feels? I think I was actually fortunate to shoot with one of the super squads to see how they ran it, I think that helped me finish higher than I expected. I'm very anxious to see what the Smm3gun match brings in two weeks. See all of you there.
  9. I think there hasnt been much talk about the Smm3gun because alot of people i have talked to fear its going to be similiar to the desert classic(i hope not) this past year was a very tough match, hope the 3 gun isnt too IPSCy. Theres plenty of places to buy things that you might have forgotten, Vendor tent usually has alot of stuff too.
  10. Spoke with Beven this afternoon and we cleared the air, just wanted to post here to make sure that everyone knows that my intentions were not to "Bash" him or his company. I hope the moderators and Mr. Grams excepts my appologies.
  11. Now its my turn to bash a vendor, [...edit...] See if this gets edited, since none of the above posts did!!
  12. Ameetec Arms is now making a lightweight bolt carrier too, just put one in my gun and it runs very smooth.
  13. HI, I'm Scott and I'm a fan of the Hawkins Brothers and the Miller Brothers. first cure to any problem is admitting it right? LOL
  14. i have a pigtail gas system and it works well on one of my guns and doesnt work worth a darn on another. Im not sure if these people are still in business.
  15. Im with Zak and Kurt on this one as well. I think the low mass bolt will work better in a 18 or 20 inch barrel. I also am seeing some people using 20 inch barrels with ports in that require a lighter bolt and/or shorter recoil buffer spring.
  16. "Kelly has had to edit me also" is my RO hero too. LOL
  17. what if......just maybe they are gonna institute this rule to weed a few people that they don't want to participate in this match?
  18. Of course my gun was loaded, arent everyones? I dont make it a habit of dropping guns, but i did do and I admit it. The gun was a glock21, .45 acp and it didnt go off, I am saying a dropped gun should not go off unless someone did some home gunsmithing to the safety/trigger group. "A lot of times the gun will discharge due to the shooter trying to catch it and they inadvertantly hit the trigger" Hence my statement about guns going off when someone pulls the trigger. I suppose the media is always the backbone of the truth and the people in question are so honest that they tell the media the truth. To get back to the point of carrying a hot pistol, with an adequate holster there should be no worries.
  19. Has anyone ever seen a pistol go off when it hits the ground? I have dropped mine a few times in the house, when my hands were too full, trying to make one trip to the car. There are safety mechanisms in all guns, unless taken out by someone. Guns dont go off by themselves sir, you must pull the trigger to make it fire!!
  20. how about someone other than USPSA put on a rifles national. It sounds great, less worries of gear and bullets.
  21. I think its great, you should carry your side arm and be able to use it if your long arm fails(like mine did on GL's stage last year) at least i would have not gotten a penalty for failure to engage. I know those who use the race holsters will not like it but you cant always make everyone happy.
  22. I would reccomend the CQT for 3 gunning. As for what mr. hill says " better scopes are out there". I have tried many other ones and found myself going back to the CQT. You should try and shoot both and see which one feels better for you, thats the most important thing.
