  1. DAMN! Your one lucky fellow. I'll be sure to point this post out to the lil' lady to show her what a wedding present looks like...... That wedding thing is just right around the corner for me, But I'd be lucky to get a PICTURE of a gun like that.......oh well guess I'll just have to buy it on my own without asking then has to ask for forgiveness later.
  2. Not trying to hi-jack the threat but since everyone is talking about tite group i thought I would ask. I'm pushing a 200grn lswc with 5.1grns of tite group. what would dropping to 4.5 gain me and is it worth trying? I shoot a kimber .45acp
  3. Sweet nice work...I'd like something like that in my truck but it would be worthless with out a camper top on it.
  4. A friend showed me his addiction in 2009, I am 32......and now an addict.

    TEXAS STAR

If you want to compare your self to me then at 5 seconds you are smokin' fast (I haven't shot a star yet, but have watched it at our local match the last six months). If you want to compare yourself to some of the open guys I shoot with, your ok but need to transition a little faster. Either way ask your self are you happy with that. where you on the edge can you go faster. Don't beat yourself up over the other guys. Just push yourself to beat yourself (and your friends)
  6. This one covers ALL the bases and more The only reason i go any where else is for the classifieds if I'm looking to buy something..............like 1911 grips........
  7. Not sure about your neck of the woods, but I just started shooting and we go to two different clubs and shoot so i should have my classification in two months. though it doesn't effect me too much. I just push my self to beat my friends....lol I don't look at or shoot against people in my class (U right now) I look at it over all. I see how I compare and finish as a whole and what I need to work on to catch up to the top guys. I shoot Single Stack but still look at open and limited guys alike. If I can get to where I can run close to those guys I'd be happy? To me a classification is just a measurement of your growth. Say you start your summer as a 10% D shooter but by the end of summer you are on the verge of breaking over to C you improved over the summer and your practice is paying off. how ever if you are still at 10% at the end of summer you know your method of practice needs to change so you can get better.
  8. I use 47D's may question was more so just to understand more about the sport. Thanks ~Get'em Duck
  9. So basically it is taking a stock mag and modifying it to fit your gun better?
  10. This may prove to be a dumb question but what is being done to a magazine to tune it? I shoot single stack and only us wilson mags with no issues. This seems to be a double stack thing so was just curious. Thanks ~ Get'em Duck
  11. 2002 f-150 86,000 miles 4.6L manual trans. 4x4 16 city 18 highway 14 towing the boat.
  12. I can get a 38 super for about the same money also built on a caspian frame but I hate the percussion that comes with a super. Not to mention how loud they are. so was looking at staying with a 9 or a 40......right now just bouncing around ideas Thanks guys
  13. It must be an STI Slide. I got photos of the other side I was going to look at it Friday but maybe I'll hold off, we are not in a big hurry to pick up a gun just yet. Thanks for the help.
  14. OK I posted a while back that I was browsing for a gun for the little lady and she kept coming back to my 1911. She likes the red dot better then the iron sights so i happened across this gun that was close to our price range and was wondering if tell me two things one what is how does the recoil of a 9x23 compare to a 9mm and two is the notch in the beaver tail normal. I know it's not on my Kimber but STI's are new to me I see a lot of guys shooting them and seen reliable. I can get this gun for less then 800 with 4 mags would that be a fair deal yes no maybe. Thanks guys for your help. It's fun having a women that wants to be involved in the same things I do...she hunts fishes shoots rides atv's and dirt bikes so the least i can do is get her her own game gun. ~Get'em Duck
  15. Thanks guys, I had read to rule book but till just now did realize what part of the gun they where referring to. Sorry for the dumb newbie question. Lesson learned.....front strap back strap are parts of gun grip got it I did know it was legal for women though. Again thanks for your help
  16. I've been running a cheap holster and mag pouch. I want to upgrade to a Blade tech DOH and a Comp-tac feeder belt mag pouch. I've read on other forums that this set up might not be legal for SS. Can any one confer yes or no to if this would be a legal set up? Thanks Get'em Duck
  17. "I've passed while still on the entrance ramp so that I could actually get up to speed and merge properly. Is that wrong? " I've slowed down to a craw to let pokie get up the ramp before taking off and passing them at the top. I hate following cars running 35 up a ramp. come on now it's can an acceleration lane for a reason folks.
  18. I use the clear smoke gray ammo boxes sold at Cabelas holds 100 rounds throw three or four into my shooting bag and go plus they are stackable when on the shelf.
  19. I grew up moving all over but home will all ways be WVa. I see better drivers back there then out here in the plains. Nebraska has no turns and people often forget that they need to turn the wheel from time to time...... The lil lady gets mad when I go to get on I-80 because I look like a nascar driver going through the gears trying to hit 75 before I get to the top of the ramp. Most folks move over but if not at least I'm running a speed I can just blend in.
  20. Thank you all for your reply s I have no intent on picking her gun unless she asks me too then I'll pick me up a 9 for SC matches I like the 1911 or 2011 in a 9mm idea, shes played with the m&p, the XDm preferred the XDm but asked if she could get a trigger more like my gun (1911) when she started pointing out triggers I started thinking it's the double action that she doesn't like and why I am currently looking for models in a 9mm on a 1911 frame to have he take a look at. I know she would love an open gun in a 9mm but I'm not that rich yet if I was I'd have me a nice limited gun. any ways yes I do reload for my 45 and was given the stuff to reload for a 9mm so if she choose the 9mm it would be in our favor. We'll find her something and get her out there shooting. Thanks everyone ~Get'em Duck
  21. OK I'm new to the hand gun scene myself and now my better half wants to get in on the fun. I fell into my used Kimber custom II Target for less then 350. and My buddy shoots single stack so it just seemed right. But now with her wanting to shoot to, I'm not sure what to have her look at we live in BFE so don't have the option to shoot a ton of different guns but she shoots what she can trying to see what she likes, likes the 9mm the best. She's dry fired my Kimber and likes the trigger break better then a double action trigger. So what would her options be. what are small framed women shooting? She is 5'1" (the 1" is VERY important) ladies who know hands and rings she has small hands wears a 5.25 ring. she can grip and reach the trigger ok on my 1911 but does want the recoil of the 45. Searches have pointed toward poly guns with double action triggers, is there anything else out there? Thanks for the help folks. ~Get'em Duck
  22. I'm lookin' for a set of grips for my 1911, there are so may choices I figured I'd see what others liked. Right now it's lookin' like MilTAC, LD, VS and Gunner are options......only thing I'll say is no wood. not a fan of wood grips.
  23. Not sure on the difference but I have a 2500 w/ auto flo and it works great. just when you get down to the last lit bit of media left, remove the top plug pack in and stir with your hand and it will remove all the media from inside the brass.
  24. Could you image watching a football game and on the kick return the guy slips and falls then jumps up calls time out and says he knows he can make it back for a touch down and that he wants another chance???? It would take two days to play a game of football because once word got out that it was OK to have a do over then ever one would want one. Sorry if your shoes untied or your hand are sweaty oh well prepare your self for the next time and move on.
