  1. Well I just got home and looked up the rule for SS and answered my own question, DAA PDR is not SS legal. Thanks guys I'm looking real close at comp tac right now I have their belt feed and like it.....
  2. Do anyone know if the DAA PDR holster is single stack approved? It says legal for production I thought the two divisions where close in gear rules but could be wrong. http://www.ceddaa.com/Holsters+%252526+Rig...de_Holster.html
  3. Well it's time to get a new holster and I was wondering what you single stack guys like? I started the year off as a new shooter with a uncle mikes then got a blackhawk I've been looking at sidearmour and comptac and blade tech but figured I'd see what others liked.
  4. Well I wanted to play around with some springs on my single stack gun. So I went to a 14 pound recoil spring with a 17 pound main and swapped the trigger sear spring with an infinity titanium tri guide and wow I put a hundred rounds through it yesterday. My trigger pull went from a 5.5 pound pull to a 2.5 pound pull. The jury is still out on weather or not the recoil springs changed anything I decide after another 100 rounds or so. I will say my second shots (double taps if you want to call them that) where a lot closer so I was controlling my recoil better.......but still need practice practice practice. ~brad
  5. L9X25, Thanks for the heads up, we are going to look into it as best we can. I hate car shopping. !@#!@#$@#$%
  6. So the little lady wants a new car, she found one that I think is a pretty good deal. I was wondering if anyone on the board had a carfax account that might be able to take a peek at it for any problems? It is only a 2008 with 11,000 miles. Thanks Brad
  7. Thanks guys you've given me a place to start with my tinkering. I'm gonna go order some springs and see what happens. ~brad
  8. I'm going to pick up a few springs and try them I was going to order a 12# and a 14# and see what happened. anyone hear any pro's and con's to progressive springs? I run just wolf straight 17# but when looking at Brownell's I noticed some progressive springs?????
  9. Ok, I've read a lot of the old post on recoil springs. lord knows i didn't read them all as the list goes on and on and on and well you get the idea. So after hours of reading I've decide to start tinkering with my gun and seeing what happens. my current set-up is a Kimber custom II target, that has been sent to Wilson and had a little work down to it it shoots better then I do. but it has a 17 pound spring in it. Now I'm wondering what I'll gain from a lighter spring and how light should it be with a 200grnswc with a 172 power factor? So for you single stack .45acp guys what spring are you running and what is your power factor? I know that with factory 230grn ammo a 16-17 pound spring is norm, but what about a toned down 200grn? Thanks guys Brad
  10. These guys sit right at the one and only red light in the area and it just seems to be non-stop. Lady with dog one day, guy with dog the next. Cops just drive by nothing they can do. I just hate people that take advantage of good people. They make it hard to help the once that could really use the help. Oh well leaves me more money for shooting. Good Day
  11. The hippie post got me to thinking. And years ago I had no problem helping a person who might be down on their luck. I'd see a homeless guy with a sign and sure I'd throw some help his way. But this panhandling crazy has gotten crazy you don't know who needs help and who is just being lazy. I like in a small town right off of I- 80 and we have a local walmart here with a red light just out side the parking lot. and EVERY single day there is someone new there with a sign "Broke down need help" "Out of gas and no money" "Long ways from home and hungry" I mean the list could go on and on, but anyways I have seen these guys drive in at 5 in the morning, park their car in a vacant lot with a dozen or so 18-wheelers and head off to work, their job of ripping off hard working folks. So in turn I know offer help to no one. unless I know then and know they are in need of a little help. Oh and in closing the average panhandler make more money in a day then Do and they don't pay taxes in it. :angry2: :angry2: :angry2:
  12. I always shoot better with out the timer, but it doesn't help me on game day. So for me practice has to be with the timer till it becomes a non issue. But what ever works for each individual is what they need to do. If it works for you then GREAT ~bjw
  13. Just as everyone above has stated, you want just enough for the bullet to stand up and not shave any material off when seating the bullet. Remember all the "flair" you put into it has to be takin' out with the crimp die at the end. Best of luck to ya BRAD
  14. I here ya, at the area 3 match I parked my hand cart close to a table and went to get me mags out, I wasn't going to go to the table but the RO for the stage walked over and said I wasn't at the table to just to make sure no one questioned me he advised I park some where else. After that I always stayed wide of the tables. Tough lesson.
  15. I heard they were looking at a couple other venues for area 3 next year. But i hope they come back to Nebraska. Had a great time this year.
  16. steel1212, who did your grips and what kind of grips are they? There are some sweet SS on here make my stock Kimber II target look bad. I'll get a pic up soon.
  17. I've built 3 boxes out of pvc and like Joe said just glue the elbow to one side of the tube and you can quickly tear them done for storage. I normally have three boxes under the bench in my truck. they come in handy for practice.
  18. Rolex, keep me post on what you think and how it shoots. I'll be lookin' to pick one up before snow sets in so i can still shot during the cold months. We don't have indoor ranges out this way. Thanks
  19. Ok I've been reading all the old posts on 1911 airsofts and still on the fence as to what to get. I know I want a full metal frame, but which one. I've held the Caspian 1911 that manny carries at his online store and they feel nice does anyone here own one? How does it shoot? I've also been looking at the WE Wilson Combat 1911. I just want a good solid gun that I can set up and shoot in the garage to try and improve my skill level, will the Caspian work for that? Thanks ~B~
  20. I feel more confused now then I was when I started reading this thread???? I don't know where you live or what you want to shoot. But I have a kimber custom target II in .45 acp. It has been a great entry level single stack gun. I'd like to move up to a Wilson or STI single stack but right now money wont allow it. My advice is find a gun you can shoot well and go to a match and have fun.
  21. nub, you'll make A in no time...keep it up and be sure to smoke your dad bad in IL.
  22. Phillip was in our squad. He was fun to watch and a good shooter. Sure wish I had gotten into shooting at his age. It was funny watching him at the chrony, he almost didn't make it to major. He was sweating bullets while the calculated his highest 3 loads. Congrat's Phillip on area 3.
  23. That was the first time I seen a bobber, I got A C on one side and C M on the other.....and I slipped one by on the far swinger on that stage for another Mike.............Darn me for not watching my sight. Played dumb on stage 4 and forgot to put a mag in the gun before setting it down an dclosing the door......so I had 32 rounds for a 32 round stage with a wind mill.
  24. I can see the port thing as and issue it does effect some and not others due to height. At 5"11 they didn't really bother me. But it would be nice to see port options rather then one port, maybe multiple ports at different heights.
