  1. KKM barrels have worked well with most of my Glocks. The only exception was on a G21 45 ACP barrel that was giving me feeding problems. I ultimately had to exchange it for a G20 10mm-40SW and went back to stock on the G21. BTW Kevin gave me awesome support and I own a plethora of his barrels.

    G20/21 Magwells

Colt, Out of the box the CCW Glock Magazine Well leaves much to be desired. It has been my experience with those magazine wells that you will need to tweak them to make sure the magazines drop free when you press the magazine release. I also found that they have no customer support worth mentioning. Needless to say the Glock G17 sized and G20/21 sized frame magazine wells that I purchased from them have been relegated to the unused parts box many moons ago.
  4. I have owned 3 generations of CR Speed Holsters for Glock and while they do make a good holster IMHO that the Ultimate Ghost Holster for Glock beats it hands down. Regarding your question about Comptac Holster/Magazine Pouches and the CR Speed Belt yes they will work I currently use the CR Speed belt for IDPA competition with a Comptac Holster and their assorted magazine pouches (2/4, 1 with light holder) I just don’t use the inner belt liner for those matches.

They finally came and they have exceeded all of my expectations. Please refer to the attached adobe file for the pictures of the magazine wells and the firearms that they are being used on. BTW, Tom provides a brass and a plastic lanyard plug. MagazineWells.pdf

Frank, You are mistaken as far as the weight is concerned for a magazine well in IDPA competition. Please refer to the following email from IDPA Headquarters for the actual magazine well weight requirements. To your first question the answer is yes, you can use the aluminum slug for ESP and CDP. As to your second question, there is not a specified weight for mag wells. The aluminum or the plastic one will be alright. The two things to be aware of when looking at when adding something like that is a. does it go over weight limit for that division b. does it still fit in an IDPA box. When looking at after market parts a good way to tell if it is not legal is to ask yourself, Is this part designed first to add extra weight then provide a function (as in a brass mag well)? If the answer is yes you could be in trouble. <g> I hope this answers your question. Please let me now if I can be of any further assistance. Rocket, Would you happen to know what the Lightning Strike magazine wells weigh? Anyway seems like NHO has one more competitor besides Glockmiester in the Glock Large Frame Magazine Wells.

    G20/21 Magwells

Spoke to Tom Novak http://www.novakshandgunneroutlet.com/ today and I'll be receiving my two Prototype NHO Big Mouth G20/21 magazine wells by this Thursday. The Stainless (USPSA Limited) version weighs in at 7.5 oz and the Aluminum (IDPA G21) one weighs in at 4.4 oz. Once I have them I'll provide photos.
  9. You're welcome. With regards to using a G20 for Production I would advise against it. Instead I would recommend using a G17 that in my opinion is the best gun Glock offers for Production Division competition since it can be used in USPSA (USA) and IPSC (Rest of the World) with the advantage in IPSC since they allow the use of the Glock 17 round magazine which is two more rounds than what you'll get in the G20.
  10. Gentlemen, I really don’t have a dog in this G20 10mm - 40S&W USPSA Production debate since I no longer compete in that division (I would if it followed IPSC Rules) but what is the problem if you decide to use an aftermarket barrel from KKM that can be used with either cartridge? As far as how best to configure a 40 S&W Long Loaded G20 for Limited competition what I have found that works for me is the following: A. Barrel: KKM 10mm- 40 SW B. Cartridge: 40 S&W OAL 1.190, Montana Gold 180 grain, Powder W231 or N320 5.1 to 5.3 grains C. Trigger: Vanek Custom Trigger 1.5 pound (Limited Only) (Vanek has a production Legal Drop In Trigger for G17 Sized frames that sells for roughly $100.00. I would suggest contacting him at http://www.vanekcustom.com for the G20/21 trigger. I have an associate that’s using the Sotelo trigger http://www.triggerkit.com/ in a G20. He had to shave material off the trigger safety to get the results he liked. By shaving it is automatically disqualified from Production Division due to it being an External Modification) D. Sights: Dawson Precision Sights Fiber Front, Target Rear (Applicable to all Divisions of USPSA) E: Base Pads/Magazine Extensions: Arredondo +5 Base Pads (Limited Only) (I originally ordered the GE kits but due to lack of availability I went with Arredondo. At first I had problems with the provided magazine springs but when I switched to the Para Ordnance P14 springs they worked flawlessly. Depending on the follower I use Wolff or ISMI springs) F. Magazine Release: Lone Wolf Extended Magazine release for the G20/21 (Limited Only) (Originally used the JP Enterprise Magazine release which is what I use in my G17 sized frames for Limited and Open but I found it would cut into my hand so I switched it out for the Lone Wolf model which runs for about $5.00) G. Magazine Well/Weight Add On: Brass Seattle Slug (Stop Gap Measure) (Limited Only) (I have funded and will be receiving this week two prototypes in Aluminum (IDPA/G21 CDP) and Stainless Steel (USPSA Limited/L10) from NHO of their Big Mouth Magazine well for Glock's. These magazine wells have been tested with the Arredondo and Taylor Freelance magazine Base Pads which was my primary requirement. For more details on these magazine wells I would suggest contacting Tom Novak at NHO http://www.novakshandgunneroutlet.com/) H. Guide Rod: Tungsten Guide Rod for G20/21 and ISMI 13 pound spring (Limited Only) (For Production I would remove the cap off the existing Glock recoil assembly and replace the factory spring with the ISMI 13 pound spring)

    Glock 20 Mags

Bevin, I just have some simple questions (similar in concept to an RFI) for you that I hope you'll be able to answer and they are as follows: A. Do you currently offer base pads/magazine extensions for Glock magazine tubes? B. Which models and generations of Glock magazine tubes do you currently offer base pads/magazine extensions for? C. Which models/generations of Glock magazine tubes do you currently not support? D. Of those models/generations of Glock magazine tubes that you currently do not support which ones will you be offering a magazine extension/base pad for and when do you expect to have them generally available on the market? Not trying to be argumentative here I would just like clarification on this part of your product line. BTW, these are the type of questions that I would ask of vendors such as IBM, Oracle and Fair Isaac's when my firm is interested in purchasing one their existing or planned solutions.
  12. I've been using one in a G22 2nd generation (IDPA ESP) for quite sometime now and it has not given any problems. Once I'm back in LA I'll post some pictures.

    Glock 20 Mags

Bevin, My buddy as you so eloquently put it is Rene from Speed Shooters International. I believe that he does carry quite a few of your firearms accessories and that he has been doing business with your firm for several years. It also my understanding that he spoke to someone from your firm to order the G20 Magazine Extensions since he was also out of stock at the time but he was told that there weren’t any available at the moment and that there was no ETA as to when they would be. May I suggest that you might want to consider stating on your website what you have on this forum so that way anyone who might want to order a Glock Magazine extension from you would know what to expect. BTW, the spring and followers and magazine extensions that I am running are working just fine and while I appreciate your kind offer I think that it would be best to pass on it since it seems that over the years every time you and I have any interaction we always end up agreeing to disagree.

    Glock 20 Mags

Bevin, My source is our mutual friend who is located in Burbank. It's my understanding that he tried to order some from your firm and he was informed that there was no ETA as to when they would be available. Also if memory serves me correctly the GE website at the time was showing them to be out of stock (As of today still out of stock refer to attachment for details). BTW, your base pads were my first choice for my G20 since Swede20 had recommended them so highly but due to lack of availability I went with Arredondo. GramsWebsite10mm.pdf

    Glock 20 Mags

Ray, It’s my understanding that Bevin aka Gram's Engineering isn’t planning on making magazine extensions for the G20/21 anytime soon. In the meantime Arredondo is and I would recommend using the Para P14/16 140 mm magazine spring from either ISMI (New Follower) or Wolff’s (Old style Follower). BTW, I'm using an OAL of 1.190 180 grain Montana Gold RSFP with 5.1 grains of 231 or n320. My barrel is a 10mm- 40 S&W KKM.

    Glock 20 Mags

I'm using Ralph's base pads with my G20 and they hold 20.
  17. ESP for sure you might also be able to use it in SSP since they do allow rebarreling and the bullets that are used for 10mm and 40 S&W are the same. BTW the KKM barrel is stamped 10mm - 40 S&W.
  18. All of the adjustable sights/scopes I have ever used worked that way top for elevation and side for windage.
  19. Thats great that you run your Glock bone dry. Experience has taught me not to run them dry especially in the area where the Trigger Bar makes contact with the Connector but then again what do I know about Glock's. Here's an excerpt from Ptooma Productions The Complete Glock Reference Guide where they show one of the 5 areas where Glock's should be lightly lubed. Lube.pdf
  20. George, You are right it could be any of a number of things like: High seated primers (This would be a problem also for a factory trigger) Lack of Lubrication of the Trigger Bar/Connector Hard Primers I.E Rifle vs. Pistol Weak Striker Spring BTW, before I ever bought a single trigger system from DMW, CGR, NHO, VanekCustom or TriggerKit.com I tried the Wolff spring solution (used their magazine springs in my Para’s) and it gave me light hit problems with CCI pistol primers. Hopefully the original poster of this thread will be able to provide more details on the problem he's experiencing like type of primer he is using and pictures taken from various angles of the cartridges that had the light hits.
  21. George, As a general rule what you have stated is correct. Having said that though I currently have VanekCustom 1.5 pound triggers with reduced power springs on my 9x19 Major Open Glock's that will fire Small Rifle Primers without any problems.
  22. Calvin, What type of bullets are you planning on reloading (Lead or Jacketed) that made you go out and purchase an aftermarket barrel? IMHO, that the only technical reason I would rebarrel a Glock with an aftermarket barrel would be if I was planning on using 9x19 MAJOR loads for USPSA competition. I currently own over 11 after market barrels for Glocks (KKM, Briley and BARSTO) and except for the 3 9x19 Major Open Glock's the rest of the barrels werent really needed I just liked the way they looked on the gun (Stainless vs. Black Finish).
  23. Are you lubricating the area where the trigger bar makes contact with the connector?
  24. Well I was finally able to complete the first phase of my tests on Vanek Custom’s new drop in trigger and let me just say that I have been pleasantly surprised by the results. This trigger kit has been used in several of my 40 S&W Glock’s (Purchased the 40 S&W Kit) even those that were hiccupping with the TriggerKit.com drop in trigger. My first test was to dry fire the trigger in three Glock firearms (two G22's 2nd/3rd and G35 3rd generation) and it worked flawlessly. Went to a local indoor range and fired in excess of 700 rounds though two (G22 2nd and G35 3rd generation) of the Glock's and no problems were encountered. Later that week after competing in Jojo’s match I was testing the G22 (2nd generation) in one of the empty berms and a problem did arise where the trigger wasn’t resetting itself after firing over 500 rounds. This problem was caused by my negligence. In turns out that every time I swapped the trigger I would clean the trigger assembly but on this one occasion I forgot to lube the area where the trigger bar meets the connector. This is contrary to instructions that both Charlie and Ralph provide to their customers when assembling each their respective drop-in triggers. Once I ascertained what was causing the problem I placed some Slide Glide #1 in the affected area the problem went away. Earlier this week I was able to retest the G22 at the range and after +500 rounds it didn’t hiccup. Today I used the G22 2d generation at a local IDPA match and fired another +100 rounds in competition and it performed flawlessly. I plan on firing another 1000 rounds with this trigger sometime this week using the other two Glock’s and once this test is completed I’ll provide an update.

    G20/21 Magwells

Currently Glockmeister is the only manufacturer of G20/21 magazine wells. Neither JP nor Dawson offer one at the present time. There is a ray of hope though I am currently funding a prototype from NHO where he is making his Stainless Big Mouth magazine well for a G20/21 frame. http://www.handgunneroutlet.net/ http://www.bb-enterprise.biz/productCat44072.ctlg
