  1. Rexican- I am having the same problem with some Dawson mags and a STI Eagle in .40. I ran my calipers and determined that the Dawson mags are slightly larger than the regular factory mags. I have done a little stoning on the plastic inside the grip to remove hi spots, but still need to do some more. bubbadoc
  2. RegRob - Don't feel bad about it.... I had a very similar ephiphany two weeks ago. Long time shooter and had not noticed the gradual shifitng of tension into the hands and out of the arms... K
  3. Using the #1 for 45ACP will make you either start drinking... or start drinking more..... I have to manually ensure that the casings hit the sizing die with the #1....
  4. The free bullets were a DEFINITE bonus. Especially since I got another 300 for the 3 die sets I bought. The issues I had with blue (not knocking a GREAT company/ product) was that everyone was comparing a 550 with a LNL (non auto vs auto) and I kept hearing that the Blue was so good that folks bought 2 so they did not have to change over the primer system....with my LNL I can change primers from large to small in relatively NO TIME.... so I needed only 1 loader for 9, 40, 10, 45.... (and 1300 FREE bullets...)
  5. aaahhhh... that explains why I can't find them anywhere else... including the CZ website... Thanks from another curious pistoleer in the making....
  6. I like my LNL a lot. It was not without problems, as I had to adjust the primer system to get started and have had to adjust the pawls to get it to move forward/ index correctly.... and I break a spring every thousand or so rounds... that being said... it works just fine... without a case feeder. When I figure how much I saved with the lower cost that a 650 and the free bullets, well I AM HAPPY WITH IT!!!
  7. Being SLIGHTLY obsessive/ compulsive doesn't add up... but my rounds due I can't help it... really. I write down ammo as I go through it at the range on a note pad. I transfer the numbers to an Excel sheet. I am not worried about every round, but try to get close if I can't. I keep track of changes, mantainence and issues so I can determine if a specific gun or magazine is an issue. With as many... I mean few... guns that I have, I couldn't remember. It also allows me to weed out pistols that I do not shoot and decide whether to shoot them more or trade them off to make more room in the safe..
  8. I have a Witness Match and really like it. It is not as accurate as some of my pistols, but it is not bad... and considering the cost... is a definite winner. Plus, it fits my hand really well
  9. I use the standard wt Slide Glide on my X5 All Around with ZERO issues.... and have for the last 2000 or so rounds....
  10. Now thats funny carhartfarmer..... I would NEVER do anything like that (don't say I used an overlong 45 case the first time I set up my press.... doh... was that outloud!!!)
  11. It boggles the imagination how much good stuff is stored here....
  12. Welcome on board. We are in the same boat... I've lurked here for a long time soaking up info and not thinking I could contribute much... but what the heck... joining is good!
  13. I would also pick up some spare case retainer springs. I pop one about every thousand rounds.
  14. The more sources you have, the better. There is ALWAYS a chance for a typo that could cause some... ahem.. issues, although things are better today with word processing in place of the old typesetting. The upside of many sources (especially from the net) is the chance to compare other powders and see how they compare to what you have. It also helps figure new loads when you find that the local bullet caster is making a slighlty modified bullet.
  15. As a noobie, I am playing dog pile and saying... ... get the relaoder. Progressive. Enjoy your EXTRA shooting.
