  1. Thanks for that one! Have to pass that along. I worked in the ER today and spent the whole day telling people that they're probably not gonna die of the runny nose and cough they have had for the last week. And that was just the 25 year old "man" who showed up to the ER with his mom.
  2. 5 M, 1 GM oh well. Still shot good for me!
  3. First attempt at posting a pic, hope it doesnt come out enormous! Irene shooting stage 7. Great shot of the shirt a good flying brass view.
  4. Just shot the Golden Bullet this past weekend. Awesome match with great people! Curious to know how a level 3 is used as a classifier?? I went thru the rule book and couldn't get an answer. It is % in your division? Does there need to be a certain amount of M or GM in division or just match? Have just started shooting and this would be my second classifier. I would also be over 40%. Would love to have my first qualifier be a C! Plus Irene is pretty close to 40% as well. She just picked up a gun in February. Thanks in advance.
  5. Can someone tell me how soon you find out if you get a lottery slot??? Never done this before. Like to have time to plan.
  6. Just noticed you're in Richmond. Try getting ahold of John Bagakis and get Bear Creek bullets. Moly coated and made locally, in Kalifornia! Probably be a little cheaper too, no shipping costs. Most of the guys at Richmond Hotshots should be able to get his contact info. Have only shot about 6-7K of BC 9mm 125s but they work great. All thru Glocks with stock barrel. Haven't shot anyone else's lead. Plus I really like supporting gun related business in CA. Good luck.
  7. Have to agree with the above. Great match, great stages and the RO's and shooters were a great group of people to shoot with. Could not have been better from a new shooters perspective. The better shooters were very easy going and offering up great criticism and praise. This was Irene and mine first big match. Only our 3rd USPSA match. Got some really good pics too! Thanks to Steve, for putting together such a great match, and to all the people who helped out. You all are why shooting sports are so much fun! Where else can you get to participate with the best competitors side by side and be so amiable? Thanks so much for a great weekend! Scott & Irene
  8. Just shot my 125 moly Bear Creeks out of a G34 thru the Golden Bullet chrono. Getting 1040-1060 FPS with 4.1 grains. Wolf primer, mixed brass about 1.124-1.30 OAL. Stock Glock barrel. The 2 bullets they pulled also weighed 130 & 128. Load shoots soft. I think you're about right for the 147, .3-3.5 is what I hear most. Good luck and dont get too worried about getting that close to PF. Just find something the gun likes and go with it. Scott
  9. Ill show them the frame at the next GSSF match! BTW she got the gun out of our range bag, with one zipper closed and out of the case with a full length zipper!! Didn't break either one of them. She's dumb not stupid
  10. Not the whole thing but my 8 month old Rottweiler, did a bit of chewing on the mag area of my G 34. Couple cuts and nicks at the bottom. Had to push it out a bit to get the mag to fit again. So much for indestructible polymer. Only cost me a new grip tape.
  11. The Leights have easier battery access, other than that they save you a few bucks. I got my last 2 for $50 each. Ive worn both, see if you can try them on with your shooting hat and glasses. Some muffs have had issues for me.
  12. Another plug for the stock barrel. About 10 k thru 2 different 34's. Picked up a my new 17, zero rounds, and compared barrels. Cant tell the difference. Shooting moly 125 with Solo. Only clean every couple of weeks, maybe 4-800 rounds.
  13. Talking while posting, sorry for the double post.
  14. 5000 thru 2 G 34 with no problems. 25 K in the loading room currently. Shoot well. We've shot 700 + in one day and very little noticiable in the barrel.
  15. Just took the extra metal of a Dillon die, to get the carbide sizing piece to bottom out on shellholder. No problems with any brass, range pickups or once fired from others. CBC often wont take a primer though. Scott
  16. Running 2 G 34's and have about 5K of Bear Creeks thru them with no problems. I read the same book and was pretty worried too. Reading alot here and cleaning quite frequently at first helped. Now I dont even see any leading after 500+. I use whatever cleaner I happen to have. M7 Pro currently, no smell whatsoever. Help my SO deal with the cleaning smells. After all one of the 34's is hers Scott
  17. Another plug for Bear Creek. Local, good bullets and has them available when I need them. Nice to support anyone that does firearms related business in California too! Scott
  18. Dont have a chrono yet, wondering if any of you are shooting the same load? Out of 2 different G 34's. 4.1 gr Solo and Bear Creek 125 gr. Shoots excellent! Looking at similar post it should be ok with PF. Scott
  19. You are gonna get a thousand opinions here. So here is mine. Im in CA as well and just started IDPA and USPSA as well. I have a 45 single stack and a Glock 34. These 2 allow me to shoot a variety of different classes. That being said, pick a gun you feel comfortable with. The Glocks, XD and S&W M&P's have alot of accessory and support and all shoot better than most of us will. Also see what type of matches and turnout in each classes are nearby where you live. Mostly just get something you like shooting and shoot it!
  20. I shoot one and my SO, Irene shoots the other. Its our primary Prod and SSP guns. Just looking for the 17 top to shoot one more class at GSSF matches only. Might see if I find a refurb and sell the lower. And then again do I really need to shoot more... LOL Scott
  21. I just chucked my Dillon sizer in a lathe and took off the extra at the bottom. Sizes all the way down. Guessing thats exactly as the EGW. Shoot a 34 also. Scott
  22. Curious if you can get just a top end for Glocks?? Have 2 34's but would like to be able to put 17 tops on them. Specifically to shoot more GSSF classes. Do the smiths sell them that they have replaced?? Can you get them new?? Any help... Thanks Scott
